Zach runs his face over his hands, frustrated. To my disgust, Kellin sits on his lap, putting his arm around his shoulders.

Why must they demonstrate these forms of PDA in front of me?

"Do you guys mind? I'm trying to do homework here."

"Not at all. You won't bother us."

I stick my tongue out at Zach as he directs his attention back to his husband. Kellin brushes the hair out of Zach's eyes for him, speaking loudly enough for me to hear.

"What's wrong? I haven't seen you this stressed in a long time."

He shakes his head, an airy laugh attempts to escape but it dies just as quickly as it started.

"Morris just texted me information about Dario's fight."

"Didn't that just happen today?"

"Yeah, but Dario and the other kid were immediately sent home after."

"And?"

"Jane is pressing charges against Dario for assaulting her son."

"What?"

"Yeah. Morris' lawyer said he is going to put off the trial and everything as long as possible, hoping it will all blow over."

"With the way she is going after Morris for that money, I doubt she will let this go."

"That's another thing. He wants to fight one battle at a time, and her lawyer agrees."

"How long was this text?"

"The standard three page paper of the drunken Morris Adams."

Again? Those normally take up several minutes to read.

"Wow. Should we go and check on him? Make sure he isn't passed out?"

"Dario is there. He'll alert us if there are any issues."

I put my homework sheet back in my paper, looking up at my fathers.

"I'm going upstairs until you vacate the premises of all actions in relation to PDA. Please inform me of when I am free to rejoin the family."

All they can do is laugh, unaffected by my words.

Weird right? 

I finished typing the book then went back to type this chapter!
