Marianne was in one of her moods, which tended to despair nowadays. Elinor was already attempting to calm her before their mother saw her and joined here in her sadness. With the youngest sister holding her hand, Eva took her sister to the gardens and sang softly to hopefully sooth her and keep her from feeling the pressures of their situation.

It was indeed a sweet sight that Lady Merrion and Sir Gerald came upon in the gardens. They had known Miss. Eva had a very sweet singing voice, but to see her sing with her younger sister's head in her lap as she slept was endearing. Lady Merrion turned to Sir Gerald and whispered so as not to disturb the sisters.

"They are in a precarious situation. Miss. Evangelina has been a great boon to our town, and to have the Dashwood women leave would be most saddening." Sir Gerald nodded. They had stopped by due to some unfinished work that needed to be handled by the new owner of Norland Park. Both had not been very impressed by him or his wife.

Sir Gerald thought for a few moments before turning back to look at Evangelina. He had one acquaintance, an older gentleman who owned land not too far from town. His son was not yet engaged, and from the interactions that he had had with the lad, he seemed to be of the good sort. Perhaps he could see if he might be interested in one of the Dashwood women. Mainly Evangelina, who seem both sensible and witty.

They continued on and left the sisters to enjoy the garden.

Fanny Dashwood stared out of her husbands office window. She glared at Evangelina, who sat in the garden with her younger sister.

"The sooner they leave, the better for us." She stated to her husband as he worked on some paperwork. He sighed. He knew that he had promised his father to care for his sisters, but his wife was insistent that they should leave as soon as possible.

"I have spoken to them. They do need a bit of time to get some accommodations." he tried to soothe. She turned to glare at him.

"Were you aware your second oldest half-sister is very involved in planning for the different events that they hold in town. Most everyone has high regard for her. The sooner she is gone that faster, we can get out of scrutiny and secure the future of our family." John Dashwood sighed once more and let her continue. If she attempted to hurt his half siblings, he would attempt to help them, but Fanny had a very vicious streak in her, and he was not one to temper her.

A chill ran down Evangelina's spine. She was not sure of what was to come but she did feel something or someone nefarious was afoot.
