Evelyn winced as she sat on the stretcher, quiet as the medic checked her over. The bullet graze and stab wound had been patched. She gave a grateful nod to the healer before slipping off and stumbling over to Aizawa who was relatively unharmed and talking with the detective.

She blinked in pain, her feet bare against the debris-covered floor after she slipped her heels off.

Damn, this was a nice dress too. Evelyn mulled as she stared down at the now torn gown. Aizawa glanced up at her and held out his hand. She blinked before grasping onto it gently. Evelyn squeaked as Aizawa pulled her into a hug, pressing her against his chest.

His chest rumbled as he continued to speak with the detective, who was clearly surprised by the show of affection from the stoic man.

Evelyn practically melted into his touch, accepting the warmth as she fought away hot tears. He's finally gone. She burrowed herself farther into his chest.

Her hand pressed against the gauze on her face, right under her right eye. The cut would most likely scar. She smiled softly as she glanced back up at Shota's face.

She leaned back into his chest, closing her eyes. Shota glanced down at the strawberry blonde, smiling softly before glaring at Tsukauchi. Not a word. The detective quickly understood before backing away.

He glanced back down, the soft smile coming back.

----

After it was discovered that Horikoshi was the one to attack her home, Evelyn moved back into her apartment (reluctantly). However, she still ended up staying at Shota's house throughout the week, commuting with him to and from work.

Evelyn huffed as she pressed her fingers against her cheekbone, frowning at the small scar. She glanced in the mirror. She pulled away, glancing over at the doorway where Aizawa stood.

"We match." She grinned.

Aizawa snorted. "Yeah sure." He couldn't help but feel angry every time he looked at the scar. It felt like a reminder that he had failed to protect her.

He hummed absent-mindedly as he thumbed the scar-tissue. Evelyn smiled softly. "Get ready dork. We have to pack for the training camp."

Aizawa groaned. "I'll do it, stop nagging me."

"You keep saying that, but it's not getting done." Evelyn sang as she slipped around Aizawa to get to the bedroom. She grabbed her luggage, folding her clothes neatly as she tucked them into the back.

She really was looking forward to the training camp. Evelyn smiled softly at the memory of the class. The students had slowly formed a soft spot on her, worming their way into her heart.

She finished and stood, dusting herself off as she made her way into the kitchen where Aizawa sat at the counter surrounded by paper.

Evelyn smacked him over the head. "Go pack. I'll cook dinner."

Aizawa huffed. "Fine."

She smiled at his retreating back.

----

Evelyn grinned at the sight of students skipping her way. She waved slightly at them, her white and red skirt ruffling in the wind.

"Ms. Hanako!" Mina shouted, waving her arm as she sprinted up to the bus. Mina grinned at the sight of the woman in uniform since she normally wore a turtle neck and skirt. The teacher smiled brightly as she was tackled in a hug from Mina and Uraraka.

"Hi girls!" She greeted happily. "Are you excited for training?"

Uraraka bounced up and down while Mina twirled. "Yeah!" They exclaimed together and Evelyn giggled before shooing them onto the bus.

"Don't encourage them." Shota groaned quietly. "They're too loud."

"No," Evelyn poked his forehead. "You're just grumpy. Go take a nap or something, I'll handle loading the kids' stuff."

Shota gave a small smile before pecking her on the cheek. "I'm going to ignore that first part and go to sleep. Keep the brats at least somewhat silent?"

"Yeah, I got it." Evelyn snarked with a smirk. She turned back to the side of the bus, carefully stacking. After everything was settled, Evelyn sat on the bus towards the middle to help regulate the volume of the bus while Shota sat on the bus.

She smiled silently, listening to Midoriya mumble endlessly about her quirk, answering questions softly.

"Can you make lasers if you focus the light enough?" He gasped, eyes swiveling from his notebook to meet hers. She peeked down at his notebook, smiling at the drawing of her and analysis.

"The light doesn't get hot or strong enough to cause damage since it's normally used for healing." She mused, before giving him an encouraging smile. "You're really good at analysis, Midoriya-kun."

The green-haired boy spluttered. "No! It's just a hobby!" He waved his hands frantically. She hummed in the 'whatever you say' kind of way before giving him a wink.

"When we get back, I think I'll talk to Nezu for you. Analysis is a good skill to cultivate." And with that, she turned and left the stuttering boy to his own devices.

"Ms. Hanako~" Mina drawled and the woman turned back to face the pink-skinned girl. "Tell us about you and Mr. Aizawa~"

There were several protests at the personal question but she waved it off with a grin. "Mina, gossiping is unbecoming of a young hero."

The girl whined with agitation. "Just tell us! Are you dating? Are you going to get married!?"

"Yeah, Ms. Hanako! Mr. Aizawa never says anything!" Hakagure spoke up, arms waving frantically.

The bus halted to a stop.

"Well, it seems like the gossip will have to wait." Evelyn grinned. There were several more groans at that.

She smiled softly as the students filed off the bus.

They would be safe here. They wouldn't have to grow up any faster than any other child.

Evelyn turned and grinned at Shota.

They would be safe for now.
