Cody was sitting in his office just staring at files. Files are everywhere, on the desk, chairs, even the floor. This case just keeps getting harder. Whomever these people are know how to cover their tracks and make it difficult to solve, or even make sense of what they are trying to achieve.

"Knock, knock." A guy with sandy blonde hair and a dimple smile popped into the doorway. Holding two large coffees in his hands he looked around the room at the files that seemed to surround Cody.
"Hello Sammy. What can I do for you?" Cody asked as he sat down yet another case file rubbing his temples.
"More like what I have already done for you." Sammy replied handing over one of the coffees to Cody. Cody gratefully took the cup not even remembering when he last had a coffee.
"You are the best. But is coffee really the only reason why you are here?" Cody questioned. While getting free coffee is nice, Cody wouldn't be surprised if their Captain hadn't been involved with the idea in hopes that Cody might have new information.

"Nothing can really get pass you huh? Cap sent me to check on you. He said that you were here all night again. Isn't that the third time this week?" Sammy questioned. It is true Cody has been in the office ever since they found the last body on Tuesday morning. He just can't believe that this person or people can keep doing this and not slip up giving anything away. He has looked at all the murders from the last four months and see the connections between them, but that's it. No give away as to how many people are involved or how they are able to get their victims. It is driving him insane almost.
"No I haven't been home. But something just feels off about these cases and I need to find what it is." Cody stated his voice getting colder as he spoke.
"What about your siblings? Yes they may be adults but when was the last time you sat down and spent time with them? You should take the weekend off and enjoy your time with your siblings or whomever." Sammy stated with a light smile on his face. Hoping that Cody would agree and he wouldn't have to force him to leave.
"They understand that I'm working. This case is very important. And like you said their adults." Cody spoke as he picked up another file to read over.
Sammy rolled his eyes realizing that he might have to get Cap involved to get Cody to take a break. With that thought he turned around and left to go find their Captain.

Valera decided to go to a little cafe located a couple blocks on Garden Lane to study before going home. She sat in a small booth located at the back. Pulling out her laptop, Valera continued typing her English paper that was due in two days. The topic for the paper is, "Your Dream World". Valera is almost finished with the paper. She just needs to add the ending paragraph and then proofread. Plus cleaning up the paper of any grammar errors. The little cafe was very peaceful and made all the anxiety Valera has been feeling melt away.

"Is that the infamous Valera Chimel?" A voice squeaked.
Valera looked up from her computer to see a beautiful red headed woman standing at the edge of the table. A smile grew across Valera's face as she recognized who was standing there.

"Abriella Nexi is that really you?" Valera asked excitedly as she jumped up to hug the woman. She couldn't believe the person who was in front of her was really here.
Abriella had been Valera's best friend since the first grade. But when it came time for college they chose two different schools. Abriella actually got accepted to her dream out of state school.

"It's so good to see you girl! I feel like it has been forever. Please sit and join me if you have time." Valera stated as she sat back down.

"What like a semester and a half right? I really wish I could but I have to meet my brother's fiancé for dress shopping. I'm home on spring break. Maybe we can meet up sometime while I'm here. I'll be home for two weeks." Abriella apologized.

Valera gave a small smile, "No problem. Just shoot me a message when you're free. Unfortunately I don't go on spring break for another three weeks."

"Of course girl! I got you, what about this weekend? Saturday night? We can get some of the gang together and go hang out at the old farm like old times." Abriella stated.

Valera thought over her offer. She hadn't seen many of their high school friends since their last hang out right before everyone left for college last summer. To be honest she hadn't kept in touch with a lot of them either. But maybe a lay back night with some old friends would help with the anxiety. The more thought Valera out into it the more fun and relaxing it was sounding.

"I'm in! Just shoot me the time and I'll be there. I'll bring some food if someone brings the drinks." Valera smiled.

"Perfect! I'll message you the details. It was great seeing you, bye-bye." Abriella smiled and waved on her way out.

Taking a deep breath Valera closed her eyes to refocus on her paper. This essay was half her grade. She badly needed little to no distraction. Opening her eyes Val began to continue typing.

Cody took a deep breath as he continued glaring at his co-worker Sammy. Sammy had left his office only to return an hour later with their boss. Captain Evan was a stubborn man who would never leave until he gets his way. He is ruthless yet fair when it comes to working his men and women. With documents all over the room Captain stood in the middle moving slowly in a small circle. Eyes scanning everything from the walls to the desk. He could make out several different patterns that Cody was able to piece together. This case has had them all going crazy. And the last thing they wanted was for another body to show up.

"This looks complicated. Please tell me you've discovered something." Captain spoke turning to stare Cody down.

"I have. I know how many suspects we are dealing with," Cody stated as he started moving to the board in the corner, "There are a total of four suspects at each murder scene. Four different pair of foot prints, each a different size. The details also show that there is at least one woman involved." Cody pointed to different pictures pinned up as he spoke.

Both Captain and Sammy moved closer to the board. As they looked closely at the pictures they were able to identify four different shoe prints. Finally a break in this case. It's a small break, but one nonetheless.
