Four years later...

Where has the time gone? Today is Violet's tenth birthday. She's grown up so much so fast.

Of course, Remi has baked everything in sight. Varieties of cookies everywhere. Gray is chasing around Ruthie and Wyatt with dad and Diane are laughing at all the craziness going around.

I sit down in the sand and look around at my family wishing Courtney was here to celebrate this birthday with Violet but no she washed her hands of her and gave up custody rather easily a couple of years ago.

To hell, with her, we don't need her anyway. Violet rushes over and plops down in my lap. "So tell me Violet what do you think I bought you for your birthday?"

"A baby sister?" she giggles.

"No, it's not that. I guess you will have to wait until you open your presents to see." I smirk at her and kiss the top of her head.

"I love you daddy. Thank you for my party!"

"I love you too Violet. But your Aunt Remi put all of this together make sure to thank her ok?"

"I will daddy." She said getting up from my lap and running over to play with her cousins.

Gray walks over and sits down beside me. "Whatcha thinking about little brother?"

"Just how Courtney is a piece of shit and doesn't want anything to do with Violet. Does she even think about her on her birthday Gray?"

"Don't waste your time thinking of her. She means nothing." Gray said wrapping his arm around me squeezing my shoulder.

"Come on guys! It's time to sing happy birthday!" Remi calls out.

We all gather around the big table we have sitting in the sand and we all sing to Violet and she eats it up smiling ear to ear. The girl still loves unicorns and leave it to Remi to make her a unicorn cookie cake.

I smile as I see Violet smiling and admiring her cookie cake. "I can't wait to dig into this cake." She laughs.

Hunter chuckles and sits down beside Joy. "Thanks for coming guys!" I said to them both.

"Your welcome Levi! I wanted some of this cookie cake I helped make." Hunter laughs.

"You didn't make much of it Hunter." Joy laughs.

Remi passes the cake around and we all sit down to eat. "Daddy it tastes so good." Violet smiles with icing on her face.

"You missed some on your face kiddo." I laugh leaning over to kiss her head.

"Daddy I'm ten don't kiss me in front of everyone." Violet giggles.

"Oh excuse me," I smirk looking over at Gray.

The party was a success and she got a lot of nice toys. I bought her a bike just like she wanted. She's trying to ride it on the sand and I'm watching her from the porch while Gray builds sandcastles with his three kids.

I'd like to have more kids at some point. Hell, I would have to find a woman first. That's pretty difficult when I don't put myself out there. I'm not even a one-night stand kind of guy but I may need to be.

I haven't gotten ass in so long I don't even remember what a vagina looks like. I look over and see all the kids tackling Gray in the sand. I better go and save him.

Later in the evening, we head inside and while Violet is in the shower I sit down at the kitchen table to plan out my work week.

I am almost finished with a building downtown. Just a few more days to go. I need to go there tomorrow morning.

A knock on the door pulls me away from the computer. "Hey, Gray come in on."

"Remi wanted you to have some leftover cookie cake and she made some food last night," Gray said putting the food in the fridge.

"I appreciate it. I have an early morning if Remi doesn't mind taking Violet to school when she takes Sierrah." I said.

"You know she doesn't care. Just drop her off before you leave. Well, I better head back to the house. Love ya Brother." Gray said.

"Love ya too! Nite Gray." I said walking over knocking on the bathroom door. "Hurry up munchkin its bedtime."

"I'm coming daddy! You can't rush greatness!" She giggles.

"I'll greatness you hurry up! Daddy is sleepy." I said walking to her room and turning her bed down.

"Here I am. You don't have to read to me tonight daddy I'm ten and don't need a book. I can go to sleep on my own but leave my nightlight on please."

"Wow, miss independent I don't know how I feel about this. You aren't a baby anymore that's for sure. Goodnight munchkin I love you, Violet. I hope you had a great birthday."

"I did daddy." She wraps her arms around my neck. "Goodnight I love you."

"I love you too munchkin goodnight." I lean down kiss her forehead and walk out the door pulling the door halfway closed. She's still my little girl and scared of the dark.

I head to my room and jump in the shower and then get in bed. 6 am sure comes early.

The alarm clock goes off way before I want it to and rush to get up and get dressed and get Violet next door to Remi and head to the job site to have a look around.

A couple of guys show up and we get started on finishing up this building. I hope to have it done by Wednesday so that gives us three days. I think we can get it done.

By lunchtime, I head on the roof to check what my guys got finished and it looks great. I take a few pictures and come off the roof and step onto the ladder wrong and fell hard through the opening onto the ground floor.

I don't move because I know I have things broke. I holler for help and grab my phone dialing Gray for help.

📞Gray, I need you! I fell through the floor and I know I have broken a few things.

📞Shit Levi! What's the address?
