so much has happened this past month, it is actually crazy and it still feels like a dream to avery.
after avery revealed her identity and let the world know that she was the avery that the lions players talked about in the viral tiktok, which has gotten even more views now that everyone knows who they are talking about, her following doubled overnight. she turned her account public again, instead of private, and turned her comments from limited to anyone can comment on her posts.
avery initally limited her comments once she started getting texts from jason. she quickly then put her instagram account on private and limited her comments due to not wanting jason to see her every move on instagram. it definitely helped that her account was already on private when she went viral.
the lions have been making headlines all across the country, but all for the right reasons. the lions played in the their first playoff game since 2016, where they ended up playing against the 49ers. the lions were expected to lose, but instead they ended up coming through with a win, a score of 30-27. this makes the lions first playoff win since 1991.
the following week, they played against the dallas cowboys and they also ended up with a win, 24-17. finally, the lions played against the eagles in the nfc champsionship game. this was going to be a rematch of the very first game of the season that the lions and eagles played, in which the lions just fell short by 3 points. the roles were reversed this time around. the lions came through with a win, the final score being 38-35. the same score as the first time they played each other, only this time the lions won instead of the eagles.
so now, this means that the lions are for the very first time ever in franchise history, heading to the super bowl. sadly the cincinnati bengals just came up short in order to make it to the super bowl, which means the lions will be playing against the kansas city chiefs.
the team landed in glendale, arizona a few days ago and have been getting in some last minute practices while also doing some press.

avery is awoken to the sound of knocking on her hotel room door. "hutch? dad? ugh you guys are so annoying" avery walks to the door half asleep. when she opens the door, she sees that it isn't aidan or her dad at the door, but instead, it was none other than joe burrow, ja'marr chase, and uncle zac taylor.
"you guys came" avery exclaims as she gives joe a hug first.
"the offer still stands right?" joe asks as he spins avery around. avery thinks back to the last time she saw joe over the summer, they were talking about how if either of their teams make it to the super bowl, the other will save seats for them.
"of course! i'll make sure you guys are seated right by our bench and sidline" avery smiles as she turns to hug ja'marr now.
"avery, please for the love of god beat the chiefs. they need a good ass beating" ja'marr says as he places his chin on top of avery's head.
"oh trust me, we will" avery laughs as she now hugs zac.
"i have missed you guys so freaking much, you don't even understand" avery smiles.

it is the night before the super bowl and the lions had one final practice, it was extremely bitter sweet because they have worked so hard to get to this moment. as well as, this will be their last practice as the 2022 detroit lions, as they will never play football again with the same group of men. some will retire, others will become free agents and picked up somewhere else, and a new round of members from the draft will join next year. meaning that this group of 48 men, will never be the same.
"this sure has been a rollar coaster of a year" aidan says as he is walking with avery to her hotel room.
"you can say that again" avery laughs. "but i'm so proud of us."
"i wouldn't change this past year for anything in the world" aidan leans down and plants a kiss on avery's lips as they reach her hotel room.
"me neither" avery says.
"gosh, i have no idea how i am going to sleep tonight" aidan sighs beginning to stress about the game tomorrow.
"do you want to sleep in my room tonight? we can cuddle all night. i'm sure that will help you sleep and help you get your mind off of tomorrow" avery offers.
"that sounds so nice, let me go get my things and i'll be back" aidan kisses avery again and walks towards his room.
a few minutes later aidan is back. the two spend the whole entire night in each other's arms.

today is the big day. it is super bowl sunday. all the blood, sweat, and tears the lions put into this season, all comes down to this one game. avery is currently pacing back and forth on the sideline as she watches the boys warm up on the biggest stage.
"avery, i need to talk to you for a minute" jared calls her over to him.
"what's up?" avery smiles nervously.
"look, for the coin toss we all decided that we want you to be one of the honorary captains for the game tonight" jared explains.
"wait for real? that is such an amazing honor" avery says feeling touched by the kind gesture.
"yes really" jared laughs. "you are the glue that holds this team together. we couldn't have done it without you"
"this is so sweet" avery puts her hand on her chest.

"We would like to introduce our captains for tonight's game. For the lions we have quaterback jared goff, center frank ragnow, defensive tackle michael brockers, linebacker alex anzalone, safety tracy walker, and linebacker/ special teamer josh wood. along with head coach dan campbell and honorary captain for tonight, avery campbell" the annoucer says filling the stadium with his voice.
the announcer continues to announce the team captains for the kansas city chiefs, but avery tunes them out. she notices the entire stadium chanting her name, it starts off quiet but it gets louder.
"i guess they are just here for you" jared whispers causing avery to smile.

the game is not going the way the lions have hoped. the score is 28-24, with the chiefs winning. there is 5 seconds left on the clock and in order for the lions to win, they need a hail mary. avery is pacing back and forth, stressing out of her mind, when suddenly the whole world goes quiet. she tunes out the roaring crowd behind her and notices the song that is playing.
you're on your own kid.
dan uses the last time out of the game. avery rushes over to the huddle. "super quickly boys, listen to what song is playing. it's our song. so as coach explains to you what play to do let loose and really embody the words." avery instructs.
"what on earth are the lions doing?" one of the announcers questions. "are they dancing?" the other announcer adds in.
"whatever they are doing, it better pay off or they are going to look so silly"
the referee blows his whistle indicating that the time out is over.
"lets do this boys, i believe in you" coach says as they break the huddle.
the offensive linemen make their way to their spots. jared gets the ball, he has a split second to think of where to throw the ball. he sees amon ra st brown semi open, he is currently in between two defenders in the end zone. jared takes a chance and throws the ball just as the clock hits 0, he watches in slow motion as the football makes it's way towards amon ra. amon ra jumps up in between the two defenders and catches the foot in the endzone. everyone holds their breath as they wait for the referee's signal, and it finally comes.
everyone on the lion's sideline erupts in cheers. they watch as the kicker makes the extra point, sealing a win in the super bowl, with a score of 31-28. the lions storm the field in excitement. avery runs into aidan's arms. she grabs his face and kisses him on the lips.
"hutch" avery exclaims. "you're a super bowl champion!" avery lets the tears run down her face.
"i am so in love with you avery grace campbell" aidan begins to cry.
"i am so in love with you aidan joseph bernardi hutchinson"

obviously it's a fan fic, the lions haven't even made it to the super bowl, let alone win one. one can only dream, right?
plus i don't think the lions have ever won against the chiefs, so 😂
