~6 months later~

The last 6 months seemed to fly by with the last day of school inching closer and closer. The tournament seemed to be a distant memory now as everyone scrambled around, trying to turn in last-minute papers and figure out what they were supposed to do after high school.

After that night, Johnny and the rest of the Cobra's quit Cobra Kai. After they did so, the rest of the students followed in their footsteps, causing the dojo to shut down altogether and Kreese to flee. It seemed like everyone in The Valley could breathe easier knowing he was gone.

The boys were noticeably happier after quitting Cobra Kai and now had more time to spend with Y/N. Johnny was especially happy, now that he had more free time. The 6 of them even spent Christmas together at Johnny's house, exchanging gifts and drinking a lot more spiked egg nog than they should've.

The boys also stopped bothering Daniel, who was still riding on the high of winning the tournament. Y/N had to admit it sometimes got annoying listening to him brag about the win. Ali didn't mind though and would just smile at the story he told a million times.

All in all, things were going smoothly for everyone. As graduation inched closer, Y/N spent her time worrying about what she was going to do once the last bell rang and her diploma was placed in her hands. While Y/N was freaking out about her future, Johnny himself was starting to think about his future. While he may not have been certain about what to do, the only thing he knew about his future is he wanted Y/N in it.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Y/N stared at the letter in her hand, her eyes scanning over the words she had read a million times. She had been accepted to Harvard Law, her dream school. She was ecstatic of course but her only problem was telling Johnny.

So far the only people who knew were her mom, Ali, Daniel, and Mr. Miyagi. She had told Mr. Miyagi and Daniel before they left for Okinawa since she would've been gone long before they returned. The two congratulated her and they had a small going away party to celebrate. Daniel gave her a picture of the three of them together and Mr. Miyagi gave her some little knickknacks that reminded her of him.

She had told Ali because she needed advice on how to tell the boys, specifically Johnny. Ali just told her to be straightforward and honest with him. "He truly loves you, Y/N. He's going to be so proud of you." The blonde had reassured.

Y/N picked up the phone and stared at the buttons. She gave a heavy sigh. Well here goes nothing. Y/N dialed Johnny's number and brought the phone up to her ear, listening to the dial tone. After about three rings, the call connected.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Johnny."

"Hi, sweetheart! What's up?"

"Uh, nothing much. I was wondering if maybe you and the boys could come over tonight? I need to tell you guys something."

"Yeah sure. Is everything alright? You sound upset."

"Everything's fine. I just need to see you guys."

"Alright, baby. I'm gonna go call them right now."

"Ok, I love you."

"I love you too."

Y/N hung her phone on the receiver and scrubbed her hand over her face. She was nervous, to say the least. She knew the boys would be happy for her but at the same time, she couldn't bear the fact of having to tell them she was leaving them. Especially Johnny.

At around 8 P.M., Y/N's front door was thrown open and the 5 boys ran in with Johnny walking over to Y/N while Dutch and Tommy went to the kitchen. "Chips are in the pantry, you scrounges." Y/N yelled as she heard them tear open her cabinets. Her mom was gone for the night so they didn't have to worry about her scolding them.

Johnny wrapped Y/N up in his arms and sat down on the couch, pulling her with him. "So Y/N, why'd you need to see us?" Jimmy asked as he sat on the couch. "Am I not allowed to hang out with you guys for fun?" Y/N teased. "No." Bobby deadpanned, making Y/N roll her eyes. "Well I'll tell you when Dutch and Tommy are done trashing my kitchen."

A few moments later, Dutch and Tommy came padding into the living room, their arms full of snacks and beers. "Where did you guys get the beer?" Y/N asked, raising an eyebrow. "Not important." Dutch dismissed, setting everything down. "Now that these two are here, what did you need to tell us sweetheart?" Johnny asked, placing a hand on her thigh.

Y/N felt her heartbeat speed up. How was she supposed to tell them? "I-uh-um, well it might be easier if I show you." She stammered out, climbing out of Johnny's lap and disappearing into her room. The boys looked at each other confused. What did she need to tell them?

Y/N walked back into the living room, the letter clutched tightly in her hands. She slowly walked over to them and with shaking hands, placed the letter on the table. The boys all crowded around the table and read the letter carefully.

After about a few minutes, the boys moved away from the letter and sat in silence. They were all proud of her, of course, but they didn't know what to say. She was going to be moving to a whole other state for who knows how long.

"Boys?" Y/N asked heistantly, noticing the looks on their faces. "We're so proud of you, N/N!" Jimmy exclaimed, wrapping her in a hug. "Yes, very proud!" Bobby added as he, Tommy and Dutch took turns hugging her. Johnny still hadn't moved from where he was standing, letting the words he read swirl through his brain.

He was happy for Y/N and he knew that this was her dream but a small part of him wanted her to reject the offer. It was selfish of him to wish this, he knew that but he couldn't last without her. It was a bit dramatic if you asked him but it was also true.

"Johnny?" Y/N asked softly, breaking him from his dazed state. Johnny took a deep breathe and plastered a fake smile onto his face. "I'm so proud of you baby. I knew you could do it." He said, walking over to her and wrapping her in his arms. Y/N smiled and hugged him back. "Now let's get this party started!" Tommy yelled.

It was around 12 AM when Tommy, Bobby, Jimmy and Dutch decided to head home, leaving Y/N and Johnny alone. The two were cuddled up on Y/N's couch, not paying attention to whatever was playing on the TV. "I can tell you're upset." Y/N stated. Johnny looked down at her. "What do you mean?"

"I can tell you're upset that I'm leaving."

"No, I'm not. I'm proud of you."

"Johnny, you can be proud of me and upset at the same time."

Johnny unwrapped his arms from Y/N and pushed himself to the edge of the couch, dropping his head into his hands. Y/N slid next to him and put a hand on his shoulder. "Of course, I'm upset." Johnny finally said. "I'm upset because you're leaving me. I'm proud of you, of course, because you're finally getting what you want but at the same time I want you to stay. I want you to tear up the letter and pretend it never existed in the first place."

Y/N sat there silently for a moment, staring at Johnny. Johnny felt worry grow inside him. Did he say too much? Was Y/N mad at him for what he said? Y/N let out a sigh and squeezed his shoulder. "That's ok, Johnny. Before I thought about telling you I wanted to rip up the letter. But I can't. This is big opportunity for me and I can't just throw it away. But at the same time, I can't leave you."

Johnny turned to look at Y/N. He leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers, taking her by surprise. Before Y/N could react, Johnny pulled away, and rested his forehead against hers. "As much as I'll miss you, you're going. I don't want you to ruin your life because of me." He said. Y/N shook her head. "Oh, Johnny. The only thing that would ruin my life is being away from you."

The two leaned in and connected their lips again, holding each other tightly. They soon pulled apart and Johnny looked at her. "When do you leave?" He asked. "A month." Y/N replied. Johnny smirked. "Well then let's have some fun."

Johnny picked up Y/N up bridal style, making her squeal. "Johnny what are you doing?" She asked, wrapping her arms around his neck. Johnny just grinned at her. "Giving you the best month of your life." He replied, before walking into her bedroom and kicking the door close behind him.
------------------------------------------------------
Johnny and Y/N walked into the airport, hand in hand, looking around for the gate Y/N needed to go to. The last month went by quicker than they wanted, with them spending nearly every day they could with each other.

The boys had also spent some time with Y/N, trying everything they could to not their true emotions show through. They would be lying if they told people they didn't cry over the fact that Y/N was moving. It was out of character for them, really, but they didn't care. Their best friend was leaving them, how were they supposed to react?

"The gate is over here." Y/N stated, pointing to the gate. Johnny nodded silently as the two walked over. After Y/N got her ticket checked, she turned to Johnny, who hadn't spoken much. "Johnny?" Y/N questioned. "Hmm?" He hummed noncommittal. "What's wrong?"

"Nothings wrong."

"Yes there is. Just tell me, love."

"It's just...never mind."

"Johnny, you can tell me."

"I just don't want to say goodbye. What if this is the last time I see you?"

Y/N's face softened. "Now, now, darling. Goodbye doesn't mean forever. We'll see each other again." Y/N whispered, holding Johnny's face in her hands. Johnny's blue eyes shined with unshed tears as he leaned into her touch. "I love you so much, Y/N L/N." He whispered, kissing her palm.

Y/N gave a watery smile. "I love you too, Johnny Lawrence. And don't you ever forget that." She replied, wrapping her arms around his neck. Johnny tightened his arms around her waist and buried his head into her shoulder, tears dripping down his cheeks.

"Flight 207 to Massachusetts is now boarding. Flight 207 to Massachusetts is now boarding." A voice over the loudspeaker boomed. "That's me." Y/N said. Johnny lifted his head out of her shoulder and looked down at her. Johnny leaned down and captured Y/N's lips in his. Y/N's hands gripped onto his shoulders as she kissed back, trying to get everything she can out of what could be their last kiss. After about a minute or so, Y/N reluctantly pulled back.

"Johnny I have to go." She whispered, her E/C eyes meeting his beautiful blue ones. "I know." He sighed. "I'll always love you Johnny." Y/N cried, tears streaming down her face. "I'll always love you too, Y/N." Johnny replied, tears now gushing from his eyes.

The two hugged each other one last time, trying to get everything they could out of it. Y/N sniffed loudly, Johnny's cologne filling her nostrils. The two reluctantly let go of each other and stood there, their hands still clasped together. "Goodbye Johnny." Y/N whispered, giving his hand a squeeze. "Goodbye Y/N." Johnny whispered back.

Y/N pulled her hand out of Johnny's grasp and slowly turned around, walking towards her gate. Johnny watched her the whole way, secretly wishing in his head that she'll turn around and run back into his arms. That maybe she would just forget about Harvard and stay with him.

Y/N felt Johnny's eyes boring into her back and she had to resist turning around to look at him. She knew if she did, she would tear up her plane ticket and run right back to him. She had to be strong.

Y/N took a deep breathe as she climbed the steps to the plane and found her way to her seat. She dug her nails into the arm rest as she resisted jumping up and sprinting off of the plane.

Johnny watched through the window as the plane got prepared to take off, hoping that Y/N would step off the plane and come back to him. All of that hoping was squashed, though, as he watched the plane take off and disappear into the blue sky, taking Y/N with it.
