Killer needed to remind himself that Dust was okay. Recovering, but okay. He thought. He probably wasn't okay, but Killer was going to listen to Nightmare and not worry. This would probably be the first time he listened to Nightmare. It would probably be the last too. Killer sighed and took a bite of the chocolate Dust gave to him. Dust was fine. We woke up, he was fine. He just tripped.
Apparently.
Killer didn't believe that, but could anyone really blame him? Dust has been super closed off ever since they first met. He was just worried. Killer was sure that Dust would open up to him as soon as he was ready. But in the meantime, he really didn't know what to do. Nightmare always got all weird when he was around him. Well, since Dust was in bed resting, the rest was up to Killer. He would have to get Nightmare alone, talk to him, and just blurt out something that made Nightmare know he liked him, then run away and never see him again. That sounded like a pretty thought out plan. Except Killer didn't know how to do any of that. He couldn't just go up to Nightmare and be like, 'oh, I have a crush on you.' Cross would probably kill him. Everyone would probably kill him. He sighed and looked at Dust.
"I don't know what to do." Dust hummed.
"About?"
"Nightmare." Dust laughed.
"You're gonna do it now? I mean, go Killer, but like..." Killer groaned.
"I know. You think he'll be weird about it? What kind of question is that? Of course he'll be weird about it. What was I thinking? This plan will never work." Dust sighed.
"Well, if it doesn't work out, you can just say I dared you to. You don't actually have to own up to it." Killer nodded.
"You're right. Gee, you're so smart. Thanks dude, you're the best. Do you want anything while I'm out?" Dust shook his head and yawned.
"I'm pretty tired. I'm gonna go to bed." Killer gave him a thumbs up.
"Okay. Well, I'll be back with news. Maybe. Hopefully." Dust laughed.
"Bye Kills." Killer faked an offended gasp.
"Are you kicking me out?" Dust laughed and waved. Killer groaned and walked out. It couldn't be that hard... right?
Wrong.
He would make a complete fool of himself. He didn't even have to open the door. He didn't even have to knock. But, he wouldn't be so lucky. Error opened the door and walked out.
"Oh, hey, you need Nightmare? He's just chilling in there." It was too late. Nightmare and him already made eye contact. Killer gulped.
"Do you need something?" Killer wanted to die.
Hey.
That wasn't the worst idea.
Yeah. He could fake faint and then pretend that he didn't remember anything. Then, Nightmare wouldn't ask him to explain himself.
"Killer? Is Dust okay?" Killer nodded, not trusting himself to open his mouth. He walked in the room and pulled out his phone. Nightmare just stared at him, questioningly. He typed really fast on his phone and showed it to Nightmare. "I don't trust myself to not say something stupid and screw up, so I'm just gonna type." Nightmare read. "You do know that you spelt something wrong, right?" Killer flushed and looked at his phone. He did. He put somwthing instead of something. He didn't even have to talk. He was already going to ruin everything. "Well, what are you scared of messing up?" Killer didn't know how to do this. He was a mess. His life was a mess. What was he even doing? Well, yolo, right?
He pointed to himself, and then to Nightmare. Nightmare's eyes widened the slightest, before lowering again. He remained expressionless. Killer wanted to die. This was so embarrassing. How did Dust convince him to do this? Killer cleared his throat.
Loudly.
"Well, umm, you see, I wanted to tell you something, but I didn't want to mess up and say something dumb like I always do, so I thought I could just type it, but then there's spelling and stuff. Anyway, I was thinking like, maybe we could... uh..." Crash and burn. He was doing so well. Up until he actually had to ask him.
"We could what?" Killer looked down and shook his skull.
"Nothing. Never mind. It was stupid anyway." Killer took a deep breath and looked up. "I'll see you around. I've gotta get going. Make sure that Dust is okay and everything." Nightmare stared at him.
"You do realize that there's auto-correct, right?" Killer stumbled back.
"It sucks. It doesn't even work half the time. Why does it even exist? The world would be a better place without it." Nightmare laughed.
"Well, just say what you came here to tell me, and I'll let you leave." Killer stared at him.
"Let me?" Nightmare nodded. "You can't control what I do and don't do." Nightmare bobbed his head back and forth.
"I mean, I can block the door. You know, goop buddies." Killer's entire skull went red.
"I didn't know what else to say. You know what, I'm just gonna leave." Killer turned and marched towards the door, but Nightmare's tentacles blocked it. When Killer looked back at Nightmare, he was smiling. Killer didn't know Nightmare could smile. "It's so embarrassing and you're going to laugh and make fun of me." Nightmare shrugged.
"I promise I'll keep all my judgy opinions to myself." Killer lowered his eyes.
"Liar." Nightmare shrugged.
"You can't prove I'm a liar unless you tell me." That wasn't true. Killer could prove he was a liar. He was Nightmare. He just couldn't prove he was a liar about that one specific thing unless he actually said it. Killer wasn't that big of a moron though. He knew what Nightmare was doing.
"Why are you so mean to me?" Nightmare shrugged.
"You decided that out of everyone in the class, you wanted to talk to me. This is your fault." Killer crossed his arms.
"No. You won't let me leave. Come on." Killer whined. Nightmare shook his head.
"I don't care how much you whine. Dream is my brother. You're going to tell me." Killer groaned.
"Why do you even care?" Nightmare shrugged.
"I'm curious." How could someone be so annoyingly frustrating and hot at the same time?
"Well, if you must know, I was gonna say maybe we should hang out. Like, just us two. But now I'm reconsidering it, seeing as you won't let me leave. Jerk." Nightmare stared at him, a blank expression on his face, before he started laughing. Loudly. Killer wanted to shrink back and fall out of existence. "What's so funny?" Nightmare pretended to wipe away a tear, and Killer just grew more annoyed.
"You're so whiny. Small, yappy, and somewhat intimidating. Just like a little dog." He was talking to him in a baby voice.
"I hate you." Nightmare shook his head.
"I don't believe that. Besides, who doesn't love a cute dog?" Killer crossed his arms and huffed.
"I'm more of a cat person." Nightmare sighed.
"Of course you are." Killer lowered his eyes at him.
"And what is that supposed to mean?" Nightmare put up his hands defensively.
"I'll let you leave. Goodbye." Killer shook his head.
"I'm not leaving till I get an answer."
"Yes. I'll 'hang out' with you. If that's what you want to call it. Just call it what it is. A date." Killer blushed.
"I-I meant about the cat person... but okay. Yeah. I'll see you around then. Just text me." Just as Killer turned to leave, one of the tentacles picked him up. Nightmare brought Killer almost right next to his face. Killer was going to die. Nightmare was going to kill him. And he had the audacity to smirk.
"Why so red in the face?" Killer wanted to die. Nightmare gently placed him down by the door, where Killer didn't move. He couldn't even feel his legs. But, when he finally returned to his body, he flipped Nightmare off, before leaving.
Horror, Lust, Geno, and Reaper were hanging out. Reaper still didn't have the guts to ask Geno out. Every day he waited, Geno would make another buck out of Error.
"So, did you hear? The school trip's in a few weeks. Do you know where we're going?" Lust asked. Horror shrugged.
"I don't know. I don't really care either. It'll be nice. I'll get to hang out with my friends either way." Geno laughed.
"Yeah, I guess that's true, isn't it?" Reaper smirked.
"Oh Geno. You love hanging out with me, don't you." Geno growled and almost slapped Reaper. He had to control himself.
"Shut up. Chickens don't speak." Reaper looked at Geno like he was crazy.
"How am I a chicken?" Geno shrugged.
"I dunno. Why don't you go and try to figure it out? Maybe look really deep into your head. You might find a brain." Reaper only smirked. Geno regretted speaking.
"You know, Error told me how you flirt. That you insult the person you like because you want to hide your true feelings of love." Geno would kill Error.
"And this is exactly why you're a chicken." Reaper shook his head. "You know, Error doesn't always tell the truth, right guys?" But as soon as Geno turned to Horror and Lust, they were gone. He groaned. "You know what? Who cares? If he never asks me, then I'll just get a million dollars." Reaper raised an eye.
"You okay?" Geno huffed, frustrated. No, he was not okay. Reaper wouldn't just grow up and ask him out. And there was no way that Geno was going to ask him out. Reaper would make some dumb comment about how desperate he was to be with him. Which wasn't true, by the way. Geno sighed.
"Yeah. I'm fine. I was just wondering how chickens think. Are they smart? Are they stupid?" Reaper was definitely stupid. Reaper shrugged.
"I'm not some weird animal expert. How would I know?" Geno sighed.
"Because you're the chicken." He mumbled. Reaper didn't hear him.
"You could probably look it up." Geno wanted to just cry. But that wasn't going to happen. Not here, and not now.
Lust laughed. Horror could be so funny sometimes. He would have to add that to the list of things he liked about him.
"So, are you happy you came here? To this school. It's funny to think about. There's so many other schools out there, yet we both ended up in this one. And not just in this one, in the same dorm. Do you believe in fate? I wasn't sure, but then all this happened and I've started to think about it. Maybe we were like, destined to be together. Do you believe in any of that stuff?" But when he looked at Horror, he was just staring at him.
"I don't know. But, I think you're right." Lust's eyes widened.
"About what?"
"Maybe we're destined to be together." Lust looked down, blushing.
"You really think so?" Horror nodded.
"You were probably the first person to show me real kindness. So, thank you." Lust stared at Horror, a blushing mess. He shook his head.
Screw it.
He leaned forward and kissed him. Just a sweet little peck on the teeth, just so that he knew that he was appreciated.
"Maybe we're moving too fast, and if we are, you can tell me. I'll understand. But I really like you. And I just feel safe with you. I don't know if that makes a lot of sense." Horror was just blushing. Maybe he spaced out. Lust suddenly felt so small. "Horror?" Horror nodded.
"Me too. I mean, I like you too. So, does this make us boyfriends? I've never done this before." Lust giggled as he wrapped his arms around him.
"Yeah. We can be boyfriends. Just don't be like Geno and Reaper." Horror laughed.
"Yeah, they're never gonna end up together, since neither of them will ask the other out." Lust smiled as he nuzzled their skulls together.
"Thank you, Horror."
There. I've done it. I brought you all happiness. Nightmare likes being mean to Killer, and Killer hates being called small. Geno just needs to ask Reaper out. Otherwise, he's never gonna get what he wants. I'm sorry if this isn't enough meme for you, but I hope it's enough gayness and cringe.
