Ellie and Gloria entered the cabin looking like shit. Ellie, knowing her place, went to her bed quietly, not wanting Gyro to yell at her and blame her for Gloria's injuries, which was probably going to happen anyway. Mark had finally fallen asleep after coughing all night so Ellie didn't bother him. She figured she could ask for repairs once he woke up.

Boyd immediately gasped when he saw Gloria. "Ms. Gloria!? What happened?!"

That grabbed Gyro's attention. He sat up as well and immediately ran over to Gloria. It wasn't the best idea, blood had rushed to his head mighty fast, but the medicine he took earlier was working well enough.

"Is anything broken?! Who did this to you?!" He was already holding Gloria's arm and studying the bruises.

Gloria shook her head. "No no nothing's broken... It was Steelbeak but I'm alright now." That probably sounded like a lie considering she was just bleeding from her head.

Gyro was quick to lead her to her bed and take out a first aid kit under the floorboards, supplied in every cabin for plot of course. "Boyd?"

Boyd already knew what he was requesting. He scanned Gloria and shook her head. "No. There's no broken bones or internal bleeding."

"Thank you." Gyro was quick to work on the wounds on her head first, specifically applying alcohol to the open wounds. Gloria flinched but Gyro kept on going like the bitch he was. "You were getting breakfast so why would Steelbeak beat you up? You're a bad liar." Well, damn. He didn't need to roast her when she was in pain.

"Ummm..." She looked over at Ellie, not sure if she should start sharing Ellie's tea with everyone. "Ellie was in trouble. Probably because Steelbeak found out that she and I stole the medicine from him. I told him that he could hurt me instead of her if he promised to let her go. Which... is what happened." Gloria felt more bad for Ellie than herself at the moment. Ellie's whole arm was ripped off as well as her losing most of her vision. She had no idea how far Steelbeak would've gone to slowly kill Ellie and she was glad that she didn't have to find out.

"You what?!" Gyro was quick to lower his voice so Ellie couldn't hear, as well as Boyd. "Why would you save her? She has tried to kill you multiple times. She hates you. You should have just let her die." His tone was very serious, yet soft. He had to be careful saying things like this around Boyd. It wasn't something for him to overhear. "She's just a robot built by Mark Beaks of all people. She could be replaced or rebuilt easily. But you? You can't be replaced, obviously." Now he was just scolding Gloria. "Don't ever go out of your way to save anyone. Especially a machine." That last part was very ironic considering Gyro would do anything to save Boyd, but that was another topic. "You should have just minded your business if you ask me."

Gloria lowered her voice as well. "But it was my business! I played a part in stealing the medicine, too! I couldn't just let Steelbeak kill her. Especially when I knew that she was in trouble."

"I apologize for interrupting..." Ellie finally spoke up. "But do you have tools for repairs, Dr. Gearloose?" She addressed him formally since it was a dire situation. Asking Mark was her preferred option, but she knew he didn't have tools and she really didn't want to wake him when he was recovering from his illness.

Gyro scoffed. "No. I don't." If he was really determined to help her, he could have worked something out in a span of a few hours, but he wasn't going to go out of his way for someone who he blamed for getting Gloria hurt. "Just wake up Beaks and don't talk to me again."

Mark woke up when he heard his name. "Huh? Someone's talking about me? What's the tea?" He immediately checked his phone to see if he was trending.

"There is no tea. Just help out your robot and leave us alone." Gyro waved him off. That was the end of the conversation with that side of the cabin as far as he was concerned.

Mark looked down at Ellie who was sitting under his bed. Half of his body was upside down. One of these days Mark was going to fall off of the top bunk and Gyro was going to be there to laugh in his face even if it killed him. "Oh. Ouch, that's not good." He was referring to Ellie's severed arm. "Uh can't help you, chief. I would have to be back in Waddle to repair something that bad!" He flipped back over in his bed and went back to sleep.

Boyd spoke up and walked over towards Ellie. "Umm... maybe I could help you?"

"Pardon?" It took Ellie a moment to process what Boyd had said. She was too shocked over the fact Mark didn't seem to even care what happened to her. "Oh. You believe you could do something? Really?"

He beamed. He was happy that there was something that he could do to help. "Yeah! It shouldn't be too difficult! C'mon!" He grabbed Ellie's hand and turned to look at Gyro. "I won't be too far away, Dr. Gearloose!" He walked her out of the cabin so he could help with her repairs.

Gyro sighed. Boyd was always too kind for his own good. He turned his attention back to Gloria. "Sorry about that." He had finished bandaging her head. As for his bruises, there wasn't much he could do, but there were a few cuts on her arms he needed to work on. "I feel like there's more to the story you aren't telling me."

"There's not much to say. I went to his office and did what I could to have him stop hurting her. Gyro, he probably would've killed her if I didn't do something." She continued "He said that he didn't have anything against me... which is probably why I was able to leave with only a few bruises. I am a little worried about my head, though. I keep getting head injuries."

"Boyd said you're fine... but you should lay down for a while once I'm done tending to your injuries. Take precautions for a concussion. That means avoid physical activities, reading, straining your eyes, you get the idea. You need to sleep and avoid using your eyes as much as possible so keep them closed. Of course, we have the daily challenge to worry about later... there's nothing we can do about that. But follow my advice when we aren't trying to fight for our lives. I'll make sure Boyd continuously does scans on you." Gyro had done everything he could in tending to her wounds so he helped her lay down. "But now that she isn't in the room. Why did you help Ellie? I know you said it's because it wasn't fair for her to take the blame but we were literally talking about how we wanted her to die the other day. What changed?"

"... I think she and I got off on the wrong foot. I know she was, is, chaotic... and tried to kill us both but..." God she was ruining it "I think all that she wants is a friend and for someone to listen to her. I mean, her one and only family member ditched her here. She's confused and upset and worst of all she has to deal with Mark all the time. I think the least I could do is give her a chance and be her friend."

"You're too nice for your own good. It's going to bite you in the butt if you're not careful." He was talking from his own experience. "You should try to get some sleep. I'll get you some water from the dining hall." As soon as he stood up, a question popped into his mind. He turned to look at Gloria, though her eyes were closed. "Wait. How did you know Ellie was in trouble?"

"Oh, remember that French waitress from Olive Garden? I'm not sure how she knew but she told me and had me leave right away."

Gyro's throat went dry from anger. If that's not a thing it is now. "She told you?!"

She was starting to nod off. Bitch was tired. "Mmhmmm."

"I'll be back in a few." Not only was Gyro going to get water, but he was going to have a word with that 'French Waitress'.

Ellie sat on a bench outside of the cabin as Boyd scanned her, figuring out what to do first.

"I assume you have had experience with self repairs before?" Ellie wanted to start a conversation with him and that was the only thing she could think of saying.

Boyd figured the first thing he should do first was repair her lost vision. He nodded while he worked "Yep! After a while it really isn't that hard. If I ever fall, I can just buff it out and put a band-aid over it!" There wasn't a need for Boyd to put a bandaid on himself but he liked the concept of it. It made him feel more real. "Oh, and please let me know when you're able to see clearly again."

"I will." For some reason Ellie felt really awkward. Maybe it was because she knew Boyd was never going to view her as a mother figure. She didn't bother to think too deeply about it. "How old are you?" That's what people asked kids, right?

"... I'm a definitely real boy!"

"Oh." Ellie didn't know what to say to that. Boyd was just odd in her mind. She had no idea why he was so adamant about being real, but she wasn't stupid enough to tell him otherwise. "Well... what do you like to do for fun?"

"I'm a part of the Junior Woodchucks! So I get to go on a lot of fun camping retreats with a lot of friends! It's really fun! We get to whittle things, make crafts and tell ghost stories by a campfire. Each time we master an activity, we get a badge for it!" Boyd continued to fix Ellie's vision until he felt like it was fixed. He connected the last two remaining wires together and smiled. "Okay, are you able to see again?"

Ellie blinked a few times until the world came into view, finally. Being blind started to make her feel claustrophobic. "Yes. Thank you very much. You are very talented." She needed to learn how to do things like that herself. She would do research on it later. "If you think about it, this camp could be similar to the Junior Woodchucks if you want it to be." That was stupid. "I am sure the GodBots would allow you to make a campfire here."

That earned another smile from Boyd. "I didn't think of it that way! You're right!" He started to work on Ellie's severed arm, trying to put it back into place. "If I'm allowed to start a campfire, we could all sit around and tell stories one night!" He would've also added that they should also make s'mores but he didn't think they could get any of the ingredients for it there.

"That sounds very... fun." Ellie actually thought that idea was very stupid, but this was a child she was talking to. "Boyd, about when we first met..." She decided to cut to the root of what was bothering her. "I am sorry I scared you. I just do not know how to socialize that well and I got a bit... excited when I first saw you."

"That's alright." He thought it was a little weird that Ellie called herself his mom... and a cockroach his brother, but he knows how awkward he can be around new people, too. He knew not to judge her too harshly. Plus she seemed fine now. "You seem like a very nice person!"

"I would not say that but it is much appreciated." She said before moving on quickly. "How do you know Mark?"

"... He found me in a dumpster and took me in... sort of..." Mark wasn't exactly his favorite person to talk about. "There was this birthday party for this boy named Doofus Drake. Before the party was over, I became Doofus' new brother and his parents adopted me. Mark never came back for me. I'm not sure why. This was my first time seeing him again after what happened."

"...he took you to a birthday party and then he left you?" That was quite the short but odd story.

"Yes... but I'm not too upset over it now. He probably had a good reason why he left me there."

Ellie narrowed her eyes. "No. I do not think he did."

"Hello, Gladis." Gyro approached Future Gloria who was laying on the beach on the side of the lake, trying to get a tan.

Gloria could already tell by the tone in his voice that he was pissed off. She sighed and pulled her sunglasses off of her face. "What did I do this time, Gyro?" She said sarcastically.

"Hm... let me think. Oh! I know! You sent your past self, my girlfriend, to get beat up and practically killed by Steelbeak!" He faked a laugh. "I bet you have such a good explanation for that one! I send my past self to get hurt all the time! It's so fun!"

She sat up. "It's a bit more complicated than that. I couldn't be the one to help Ellie because then it would only confuse her and my past self. As far as I know they're still upset over that... so I sent past me to stop Steelbeak before he could hurt Ellie because last time he had ripped off her arm."

Gyro crossed his arms. "Well, she still got her arm ripped off. But one point for you because you saved her life... by sending yourself in to almost get killed in her steed." Gyro got in Gloria's face despite her still being on the ground. "I don't know if I was in a relationship with you in your timeline, but I'm in a relationship with you now. And you will not send my girlfriend to get hurt. You will not involve her in any of this unless it's to help her. Do you understand me? As far as I'm concerned, you two are different people so don't expect any love from me." Damn.

"Oh my god, will you calm down?! Ellie would've died if she didn't step in. How badly is my past self injured?" She continued before Gyro could answer her. "It's probably not as bad as what Ellie went through. It could've been much worse so who cares if she got a few cuts and bruises? She'll heal and get over it."

"Maybe. I don't know what you have planned, but as far as I'm concerned, it seems like you're willing to emotionally damage your past self for others. Ironic considering I just had a conversation with you about being too kind. If you want to fix everyone's problems, do it without bringing Gloria into it. Or, better yet, stop worrying about everyone's problems."

"You don't know what happens in the future, Gyro. If you did, maybe you'd understand more as to why I have to do this. I would gladly have myself get beaten up by Steelbeak again and again if it means that everyone, including your life is a bit better than how it was or could've been." It was starting to piss her off that Gyro wasn't being supportive in her decision to go back in time and help everyone with their past trauma.

"Ugh! You're impossible! You're right, I don't know what happens in the future, but I doubt that getting yourself hurt was necessary. So I'm going to say it one more time. Don't send yourself to get hurt again. Understood? I'm sure you can figure something else out. I don't want to have this conversation again."

"It's not like I want myself to get hurt! But no... you're not going to stand here and tell me what I can and can't do! Especially when we're talking about myself! I know that my past self can handle anything that gets thrown her way while in this shit hole of a camp!" Gloria stood up and gort in his face and continued "Because things only get fucking worse for us after all of this!" She laughed "You think this is the worst that can happen?! You have no fucking clue, Gyro! So I don't want to hear this from you! Not when you're the only one who I can talk to about all of this! I need you to trust my judgement when I do the things I do because, trust me, you wouldn't want to see what happened the first time around!"

"You can't tell me about the future! Even tiny details! It'd be in your best judgement to stop that right now!" Gyro's heart had stopped when he heard the tiny information Gloria had accidentally spilled. How bad was the future? "Fine! I trust you alright?! Just calm down and don't get yourself killed!" He was angry but he was surrendering. He had to admit that Gloria was right. She was the one with all the information. "I just want you to promise me that you will try to keep yourself safe along with everyone else. I don't want you pushing yourself aside for others. That's all."

She sighed, calming down "Okay, I promise." It was a promise that she would try to hold up as best as she can, but if worse comes to worse, she was just going to break it and deal with the consequences later. "I'm sorry about what I did to my past self. I didn't know what else to do. But I'm glad that you're looking out for her."

"Alright. Be careful." He walked away just like that. Gyro wouldn't admit it, but he cared for Future Gloria as well. He could start to tell that she definitely was, indeed, his Gloria.

Once Boyd had fixed Ellie as best as he could, though there were still a few dents, they both reentered the cabin. Ellie was quick to start gathering up the medicine her and Gloria had stolen. Going to see Steelbeak again was risky, but it was riskier to not deliver the medicine back as she had promised. She was smart enough to hide a few pills under the floorboards for emergencies.

"Boyd, I take it you can handle looking after Gloria until Dr. Gearloose returns."

Gloria was already asleep.

Boyd nodded. "Of course I can! It's what I do best!"

Ellie smiled. "Thank you." She was quick to approach her own bed and hold out her hand. "Why don't you come with me, Kyle?"

The little guy got pretty excited and crawled up onto Ellie's shoulder. As far as he was concerned this was going to be a fun mother and son field trip.

Mark sat up in his bed again, almost hitting his head on the ceiling. "Yo! Can I come, too?!" He was practically yelling. He didn't give a shit Gloria was asleep.

"You do not even know where I am going." Ellie stuffed all the medicine bottles into a pillow case to use as a makeshift bag. "And no." She was quick to leave the cabin afterward and started heading toward Steelbeak's quarters.

Mark stared at the now closed door before climbing down from the top bunk and following after her. "Soooooooo!" He wrapped an arm around her shoulder while they walked "Where are we going?! I'm starving! I could really go for my biweekly frappuccino right about now."

Ellie swatted Mark off of her. "I told you I did not want you to come so go back to the cabin and leave me alone."

He put his hands up like he was surrendering and continued to follow her. "Woah, what's the big deal?"

Kyle decided to crawl into the woods for a little while. He didn't want to be a part of this.

"I do not know, Mark. What do you think is the big deal?" He probably wouldn't know because he was stupid, but Ellie just wanted to be snappy with him.

"Uhhhhh... I'm not really sure because you won't tell me where we're going." God, he was so stupid.

Ellie was quick to react. She dropped the bag of pill bottles on the ground, turned to Mark, and slapped him across the face. Things got heated fast.

"Ow!" He covered his cheek with his hand. "What the hell?! What was that for?!"

"For not caring! You saw the condition I was in earlier!" She yelled. "I had, and still have, cracks and dents all over me! I was beaten, blinded, and had a limb torn off! And all you said is 'Oh. Ouch that's not good' and 'Uh, can't help you, chief' word per word! I have a precise memory! And then you went back to bed without asking what happened! I hate you! I hate you!" She pushed him back.

"Woah okay okay I'm sorry! Look, I didn't know that it bothered you that badly!" He shrugged "You're a robot so I just kinda assumed that limbs just pop off easily. And it doesn't hurt you when
