Matty sat in his studio, he rarely went there without one of the other boys but he didn't feel like writing in his room in that moment.

The boys had gone out with Tammy, he knew that Kat was at work. She worked too much, he reminded himself to tell her that. Alice was coming over later, it was her birthday. He wondered whether Kat would want to hang out the next day.

He laid down on the sofa, his guitar across him as he strummed, staring at the ceiling. Kat was running around his mind, everything that she said and that George said. He knew he had to stop being so affectionate but there were no barriers, he had seen her naked, he knew her inside and out.

He let out a small laugh, remembering things she had to said to him. She was so funny sometimes. He strummed his guitar some more and started to hum, a smile playing on his lips.

"settle down." He sang, recalling what they're conversation before the show. "you know I can't be found with you."

Alice opened the front door as silently as possible, not wanting to let Matty know she was there. She wanted to surprise him so they could spend the whole of her birthday together.

She crept along the floor, putting her ear to each door until she heard the soft sound of his humming. She grinned and went to open the door but then he started singing.

"for crying out loud, settle down. you know i can't be found with you.
we get back to my house, your hands, my mouth" he paused, letting out a deep sigh.
"now, i just stop myself around you."

Alice debates walking in but it was such a beautiful song, she just stood there listening to it for a little bit longer. For the most part, she tried to figure out what it was about, probably a past girlfriend or something.

"the way she wears her hair down
covering up her face
oh what a let down
i don't seem to be having any effect now
falling all over the place." He sang slowly, unsure of what he meant a lot of the time.

He placed his guitar down, after playing the chords for a little bit longer and just humming his melody. It sounded nice, and he knew it would sound better with all the instruments around it.

Suddenly, his door swung open and Alice jogged in. He almost had a heart attack at the sight of her.

"Alice!" He cried, hand on his heart as he tried to calm his heart rate. Alice laughed at his reaction and walked towards him, helping him up from the sofa. "Happy birthday." He mumbled, kissing her softly.

"Thanks babe." She said, her accent thick. He rarely noticed it but sometimes it stuck out like the North star.

"I thought you were coming over later?" He rubbed the back of his head, feeling violated in his home.

"I thought I'd come and surprise you. I had breakfast with my family." She shrugged, he nodded and then his eyes widened.

"I got you a present. Wait here." He kissed her again and ran into the other room. Alice looked around the room and took in everything. It looked like the boys in hear. She ran her hands along the guitars as Matty came back in.

"Matty..." she trailed, seeing the pandora bag. He grinned and passed it to her. "You didn't have to."

"Shut up and open it." He mumbled, earning a giggle from him. She opened the bag and pulled out the box, she looked up at him before opening it, revealing the opal ring. She gasped.

"Matty...I love it" she grinned, sliding it onto her right ring finger.

"I just guessed your size." He shrugged, Alice put the bag and box on the table before wrapping her arms around him.

"Thank you." She whispered against his skin, sending chills through him. His knees went weak as she kissed along his neck to his jawline before landing on his lips. He tangled his hands in her hair, pushing their mouths further together.

Alice let out a moan as his hands found their way to her hips and up her shirt. She pulled at his belt, bringing him closer as she removed his top completely. Matty disconnected their lips, putting his attention on her neck as she pushed him down onto the sofa.

He was about to take her top off, feeling excited for what was about to come when they both heard his doorbell go off.

"Ignore it." She mumbled, kissing down his neck but he couldn't.

"I have to answer it." He removed her from his crotch and grabbed his shirt as he made his way downstairs. Alice followed.

"Do you want tea?" She asked, he gave her a thumbs up while she walked into the kitchen. He opened the front door to reveal Kat, in her work clothes. A wide smile spread on his face.

"Kat. To what do I owe this pleasure?" He grinned, Kat smiled at his welcome.

Alice put the kettle on and watched through the door to see who it was. She watched Matty's muscles relax as Kat's face showed up at the door.

"Settle down Matthew, I'm here for George." Alice's heart dropped at her words. Settle down. She ran back to the kettle and bit her lip aggressively. It can't be about Kat, it has to be a coincidence right?

The kitchen door swung open and Alice turned around. Kat gave her a wide smile as she saw her.

"George will be back soon." Matty said as they walked in, Kat ignored him and ran over to Alice.

"Happy birthday!" She grinned, hugging her tightly. Alice hugged her back but the ache in her chest from before was still there.

"Thank you." She beamed, not expecting this amount of love from Kat. She always seemed so cautious and hostile.

"I'll leave you to be, I'm just gonna go and get changed in George's room." She mentioned, Matty flinched unexpectedly.

"What, uh, are you two doing?" He asked, shoving his hands in his pockets. She shrugged.

"I think we're gonna go and see that new planet of the apes film, Ross might come." Kat shrugged, Matty let out a loud sigh.

"Oh, tell me if it's good. I really wanna see that" he said, clearly annoyed. Kat laughed and pushed his chest.

"I'm gonna spoil the whole fucking thing." She teased, he grabbed her hand and pushed her away. Alice watched the whole thing go down and for the first time, actually saw how close they were.

"Fuck off." Matty laughed, spinning her around. Kat's eyes darted towards Alice as she removed herself slowly from his grasp. "Oi, when are we hanging out next? You're always with George." He complained, Alice poured the tea and listened to their conversation.

"Stop getting so jealous, Healy." She laughed but there was so reciprocated laugh from him. Alice put the mugs on the table with a clink and they both looked at her.

"Tea." She smiled, having made another one for Kat.

"Aw, thanks hun." Kat grinned, taking the tea and turning around to walk out of the door. She winked at Matty as she brushed past him, he bit his lip.

"So, what are we gonna do today?" Alice's voice made his head turn. He took his tea and sipped before throwing his arm around her and kissing her sloppily.

The boys came back just as Matty had put his tea down and had Alice pressed up against the counter. He had been so horny lately, everyone had noticed.

"Matty!" Ross' voice boomed from the hallway. He heard feet run upstairs but Ross still entered the kitchen. Matty removed himself from his pressed position against Alice.

"Oh, Alice, Hey." Ross said awkwardly, realising he just walked in on something. Tammy soon followed, smiling like an idiot.

"Hey Guys." She smiled, "tea?" She offered. They both accepted and sat at the well-known kitchen table.

"Tell George that Kat's upstairs for him." Matty said as Alice started the kettle again.

"I think he knows, he went straight up there." Ross shrugged.

George laid on his bed, waiting for Kat to get out of the bathroom where she had locked herself in order to get changed. She came out, spinning around in her attire. He laughed and clapped even though she was only wearing blue joggers and a crop top.

"I love comfy days. What time's the film?" She asked, George got up from the bed to grab his phone.

Kat looked at herself in his mirror, running her hands over her body. George went to tell her the times when he saw what she was doing. He watched her bite her lip as she grabbed at her toned stomach.

"She's skinnier than me." She mumbled, George's face dropped.

"Shut the fuck up, Kat." He shook his head, she smiled at him through the mirror and the conversation was over. "It's at two, let's go." He grabbed her hand and pulled her downstairs.

"Ross! We're going! You coming?" Kat shouted as she walked back into the kitchen where everyone was. Matty's eyes darted to her, taking her all in as she walked in.

"Yeah. Tam, you wanna come?" He asked, Tammy shook her head.

"Nah, I gotta go to work in a minute." She brushed him off.

"Matty, can I take your coat? It's freezing and you have the good fags" Kat asked, Alice scrunched up her nose at her vulgar words. She was perched on his lap, his hand running up and down her back.

"Hmm, it's on the peg." He told her before connecting his lips to Alice's. George came up behind her and wrapped his arm around her neck, pulling her away from something she did not want to see.
