"Fire on fire would normally kill us, but this much desire, together, we're winners"
She didn't understand why Sophie kept insisting that she was in the wrong school. The blonde never had been bothering her about being Tedros's soulmate and an ever saying that the girl didn't even deserve to be a princess in the first place with all the blood on her hands.
She had been having lunch peacefully while waiting for her friends and soulmate as the blonde had approached her. Her guard had been up as the never tried to get under her skin. A black-haired boy came up to the two and it was obvious that he was practically in love with Sophie. "Oh, good you've been speaking with the Godling," He smiled at her as Sophie got up and pulled him away from the girl.
She watched the two of them walk away as the cyclops that had fought against Tedros walked up to her. "Should've known from the smell, demi-god," The cyclops said as he grinned and sat down in the seat in front of her that had previously been occupied by Sophie. "I know your brother, that one has it tough" She thought of all her brothers before realizing that this cyclops had to know Tyson. "Is he okay?? My brother, Tyson?" She asked as he nodded. "A bit of a tumble here and there but he does good work, milady" It seemed that the cyclops was giving her respect.
"Father says I should learn from the young one but I think otherwise, too much of a softie," He exclaimed as he stopped speaking. His expression changed as he quickly got up and left not before he tucked a paper under her barely touched plate. She grabbed the piece of paper and unfolded it just as three shadows fell onto the table. She smiled at her brother's little message for her.
Without looking up she greeted the three as they sat down. "Hey," She said as she read the note. "Hi," Agatha was the first to reply as she could feel them looking at the note. "I told Sophie she shouldn't give her notes to you, I'm sorry" She said as Aanya looked at her friend. "Oh, this? It's not from Sophie."
"It was from the cyclops," She said and shrugged as Agatha grabbed the piece of paper. "What does it mean?" Aanya watched as Alejandro and Tedros read the note. "Is it a code?" Alejandro asked as she shrugged. "Was he bothering you?" Tedros asked as Aanya shook her head before speaking.
Bob says hello
- P.J
"We have a mutual connection, my brother Tyson and his father work together," The three nodded but held their questions back about the sentence on the note. "Who's Bob?" Alejandro was the first to ask the question as Aanya let out a breath. "Bob was the Titan lord of mortal life, formerly known as Iapetus, he helped my brother, Annabeth and I out of Tartarus which is basically one of the first beings to be created and a child of Chaos. . . Tartarus is in the deepest part of the underworld" She explained it as best as she could without having to go down memory lane.
"Bob, he became a friend and w-we lost him. . . he wanted to see many things in the world," She let out a laugh. "It's been our thing to remember him and tell the stars that Bob says hello," Tedros smiled at her. "Bob says hello?" His head was tilted to the side as he smiled at her softly. "He does," She answered as the three began to get something to eat.

"Sir, if I may. . . I am responsible for choosing Camelot's queen and I do not take that decision lightly. I choose Aanya as queen and our fates are intertwined with one another, I do not understand the need for a trial because my one true love is standing here right next to me and it is not Sophie," Tedros spoke up as the 5 of them had been gathered in the school teachers' discussion room.
She could feel Tedros's anger at Sophie as his fingers brushed against hers."But— - - All I'm saying is give me a chance," Sophie said, sounding desperate to prove that she was in the wrong school. "If you do truly believe you are in the wrong school and have a true love, it seems to me that there is only one way to be sure, a trial by tale," The headmaster exclaimed as the teachers looked unsurely at one another.
"I'm sorry, uh what is the trial by tale?" Sophie asked as Lady Lesso looked amused. "Each of you will have to enter the blue forest on opposite sides and to defeat whatever danger presents itself and find each other by dawn. Help? Strictly forbidden." Lady Lesso said as the four evers looked at each other. "I accept," Sophie said as the headmaster smirked at her response.
"And so it begins," Agatha, Alejandro, Tedros and Aanya all shared glances wondering what the never had gotten them into. "Well then, shall we gentleman," Lady Lesso gestured for Sophie, Alejandro and Tedros to join her as Aanya watched them walk away.
She couldn't shake off the feeling of the man's watchful gaze, she knew he was somewhere here. She often felt his gaze on her and his power around the school as she could feel the evil flow through the school. Professor Dovey gave her a small smile as Silva motioned for her and Agatha to follow him. "The trial by tale is an extreme measure to take, you both must be careful." He said as he raised his finger and clicked.
A secret message that both girls seemed to have understood. They had to use their magic to help their boys.
The two girls followed Silva as he led them to the other-side of the blue forest entrance; they could see Professor Dovey and a group of princes and princesses lined up with torches as they heard the gates open.
Aanya could feel Tedros's nerves from where she was standing as Silva pointed at corner and pointed a finger upwards. The corner was hidden by a few vines but Aanya knew she could reach the top of the wall and land on the opposite side safely if she had a boost.
Silva walked away as Agatha let out a sigh. They heard a flutter of wings as they saw a dove fly out of the forest. Aanya watched Agatha use her finger glow magic to transform into a dove as Aanya moved back and forth rocking on her feet.
The jump would be at least 8 ft high, she needed a boost and had to be quick on her feet. She took a few steps back before racing to the wall, she grabbed the vine and climbed up. She felt her body use her strength to climb as she reached the top and swung her leg onto the other side.
She looked down to see Agatha watching her as she looked back at the group of princes and princesses that had just left the blue forest entrance followed by Professor Dovey who was mumbling something under her breath.
"Hurry up," Agatha whispered as Aanya grabbed another vine and slid down the wall. As soon as her feet were on the ground Agatha had started moving through the forest. The two heard Sophie's screams.
Agatha turned into a bird as Aanya tried the same, her finger glowed as she thought of all the things tied to this school. Her friendship with Agatha, Alejandro and her love for Tedros, she knew Sophie wasn't evil. No one was truly evil and she'd hold onto that because she'd known pure evil and these students were not evil. They didn't deserve to be confined by the school rules.
She closed her eyes and breathed in before holding the breath. She counted to 3 silently as she breathed out and a shock went through her whole body. When she opened her eyes she was no longer seeing things from her height but from the height of something taller, she could feel the weight on something on her head. Possibly horns.
She followed Agatha as both of them turned into humans. The pumpkin head turned to strike again as Aanya dodged the strike. The sound echoed throughout the forest, as she heard Agatha tell Sophie to run. "Once he saves you then we can get out of this madhouse, okay?" Aanya didn't know if Agatha was referring to Alejandro or Tedros. Aanya ran past Sophie and grabbed a branch before throwing it at the pumpkin head.
The pumpkin chased after Sophie who was running towards Alejandro and Tedros. "Oh, Tedros thank God," She said as the pumpkin pushed through a bush and lunged for Tedros.
Tedros raised his weapon to block the pumpkin's strike as Sophie ran into a corner and hid behind a tree. The pumpkin stepped forward and striked at Tedros who raised his shield and blocked the attack. She could see Alejandro come up from behind the pumpkin and stab him as Tedros used his force to send the pumpkin stumbling.
Alejandro kicked the pumpkin head away and pulled his sword out as another pumpkin got up and crawled to Tedros. Both boys were dealing with the two pumpkin heads as Aanya watched Agatha crawl to Sophie's side.
The pumpkin head twirled his weapon and struck at Tedros before throwing Tedros's blade away. Aanya watched Tedros's blade land in a tree stump near Sophie as the pumpkin kept attacking Tedros. Tears welled in her eyes as she watched her soulmate fight against the pumpkin as he used the shield to hook the pumpkin in the face.
The pumpkin kicked Tedros's shield as he landed on the forest floor with a thud. "Sophie pass my sword now," The pumpkin grabbed a hold of Tedros's face as Aanya looked at Sophie. She and Agatha made eye contact, they nodded to one another as Agatha grabbed Tedros's sword and threw it at her.
She caught the sword and used Tedros's shield to slide across the forest floor before throwing Tedros his sword. He caught the sword and sliced the pumpkin's head off.
She heard another slice as she saw Alejandro walk towards them with the help of Agatha. Tedros looked at her in shock as they tried to catch their breath. "You cheated, you brought Agatha and you put Aanya at risk," Sophie shook her head at him and looked at Aanya for help.
"We came on our own, Tedros," Agatha said as Aanya heard a rumble in the forest followed by the thumps of hooves. She walked away from the group as she saw a shadow move quickly against the trees.
"That's not fair Tedros, everyone knows the prince that saves the princesses not the other way around," Sophie tried to defend herself as a growl caught all their attention. Aanya could see the shadow take the shape of a minotaur.
She held her breath as the 4 of them joined her side. She cursed her luck as she remembered her bracelet was in her dorm room as the minotaur looked at the 5 of them before glaring at Aanya. "Run," She said as the minotaur charged at her.
She didn't trust herself to look around as she raced across the forest following the others, she knew that the teachers had to have given a way out if Sophie couldn't find one of the boys or if they gave up.
"This way," They all followed Alejandro as the minotaur's steps slowed down. They raced towards a bridge as Agatha called out to them. "There has to be a way out, didn't the teachers give you a note or something magical?" She asked as Tedros patted his pockets.
"This," Alejandro took out a red see-through handkerchief. "This is our way out, as soon as it touches the forest floor we'll be transported back outside of the blue forest," He said as Tedros took out his red handkerchief. "Okay, perfect we'll all just hold onto each other and leave," Sophie said as she took out her red handkerchief.
"It only works for one person," Tedros said as Aanya looked back at the minotaur that was beginning to get closer. She walked up to Tedros and grabbed his sword before stepping away from him. "Go" She said as she turned to face the minotaur.
She approached the minotaur as it growled at her. "How many times must my brother and I kill you before you realize that you're no match for us?" She said as the minotaur glared at her. She hoped that the others had left the forest knowing that Agatha would rely on her magic to leave and the other three would use their red handkerchief as their ticket out.
"You don't belong here Godling," The voice was the same as her dream as she wondered why the minotaur hadn't called her a demi-god. "I believe you've confused me for someone else, I'm a demi-god," She said and charged at the minotaur who tried to get out of her way.
She took two good strikes at the minotaur and slid her sword through the minotaur's foot before using the momentum of her action to make the minotaur drop, a move she'd watched Tedros do when they first met.
She rolled away from the minotaur as it reappeared in front of her. She frowned looking at the shadows surrounding the minotaur, this certainly wasn't a normal minotaur. The minotaur's eyes were red as she heard the voice speak again. "Watch your back little Godling," It hissed as the minotaur disappeared in front of her eyes.
Her head grew heavy as she transformed into a deer and raced back to the wall that she used to climb up into the forest. She felt the familiar shock go through her body as she was back in her body, she grabbed the vines and started to climb up.
She swung over onto the other side as she landed on her feet. In front of her stood Professor Dovey as she realized she had a lot of explaining to do.
