It began with a nightmare. The black smoke you were so afraid of began to make its way into your heart. You watched as it crawled up your walls and gathered on your ceiling, making words for you to read while they were eerily whispered into your ear simultaneously.
~~
Your (e/c) eyes opened as you sat up. You placed a cold hand to your forehead, closing your eyes while a smile tugged at the corners of your lips. A sigh escaped your lips as you got up to go to the bathroom.
You were receiving these dreams for a few months now-a black smoke billowing from the cracks in your floor and crawling up your walls to form strange messages. A deep voice would huskily whisper them into your ear as you smiled gently. At first you were scared, but this presence kept you calm, happy even.
Soon you began to see more and more details of this mysterious person; their cat-like green eyes and bluish-grey streaks in his hair. Soon you would see a playground, surrounded my smoke. You've been to that playground, many times before actually.
Something at the back of your mind told you to go there, see what all these dreams were all about. You had decided that you were going to go today, get to the bottom of this, and perhaps find the handsome whisperer.
As you walked to the park, you noticed everything around you was dark--the sky, the plants, even the animals seemed to be gloomy. Your (h/c) hair flowed as the wind blew across your face.
Immediately, your gaze fixed on a dark cloud of smoke rising from one of the bushes nearby. You froze in fear; you weren't exactly planning on seeing anyone, it was just an experiment.
You just stood there for God knows how long, until a figure emerged from the massive cloud. Your breathing hitched; it was the man(or hedgehog rather) of your dreams--in both senses. He walked towards you, and you noticed that the cloudy smoke followed him with every step.
A blush crept up your face as your breath swirled in front of you, as the atmosphere had become much colder since he appeared. "My name is Mephiles, Mephiles the Dark." He said, sending uncontrollable shivers down your spine.
He grasped your hand in his before speaking again. "I was waiting for so long, (y/n). I impatiently waited for many months, pondering over when you were going to visit," he said in a monotone voice.
It seemed like your voice was stuck in your throat until he sat you both down on a nearby bench. "A-Are you the one from...from my dreams?" You questioned, feeling the coldness radiating off of him as you began to stutter uncontrollably, making a fool of yourself.
Cold, slightly chapped lips met yours in an embrace as you closed your eyes, scooting closer to the hedgehog.
"Does that answer your question?"
"Yes. Yes it does."
(Woah that was really difficult to write, I hope I didn't screw up. Thanks and sorry for the bad chapter. Ciao~!)
