"So what'd you guys figure out?" I had just gotten situated in Mike's basement, and me, Mike, Ellie, Dustin, and Lucas were crowding around the table, sharing a bowl of chips.

"Will's definitely alive. We heard him! He was singing that one song...kinda depressing..but it doesn't sound depressing..." Mike blabbed, and a smile grew onto my face. Don't You Want Me.

"It was in-SANE! El blew up the radio!" Dustin raved, and I turned to Ellie.

"Are you alright?" I asked, placing a hand on her knee. She smiled, and nodded. I stretched out my legs and pat my lap, and she lied her head down. "Get some rest, I'm sure that took a lot from you." I reassured her. Mike stood up.

"Will was saying that where he was...it was like home...but it was dark?"

"And empty." Lucas added. I looked up.

"I've seen it. I-in my dreams-" Ellie elbowed me "-er, visions..."

"If it looks like home...was it your house?" Lucas asked, I shook my head.

"Hawkins?" Dustin asked hopefully.

"Upside Down." Eleven mumbled.

"What did she say?"

"Upside down."

"What?"

"Upside down." Mike repeated, rushing to the table and flipping over the DnD board. We all hovered around the board. "Remember when El flipped the board over to show us where Will was?" He asked, and I nodded.

"Upside Down..." I repeated.

"Dark. Empty." Mike continued. Lucas, unimpressed, looked over at Dustin.

"Do you understand what he's talking about?" He asked. Dustin looked oblivious.

"No."

"I do!" I said, leaning over the board while keeping my legs at a comfortable position for Ellie. "Think about it! Ellie took us to my house when we wanted to find Will, right?"

"Yeah, and he wasn't there." Said Lucas.

"But he was!!" I exclaimed. Mike nodded.

"We just.."

"Couldn't see him.." the two of us said, our eyes meeting. We stared at each other for a few seconds before Lucas cleared his throat and I jumped, looking away.

"She's right...what it he was on the other side?" Mike asked. I tried to help them understand by flipping the board back over.

"This is Hawkins." I said. I flipped the board over a second time, so all the color was gone and all the boys could see was black. "And this is where Will is...the Upside Down." Dustin's eyes went wide.

"Like the Vale Of Shadows." He said, and I smiled, relieved he understood.

"Exactly." Dustin fumbled for the DnD binder Mike owned, and he pulled it out, flipping through it until he got to the page on the Vale of Shadows.

"'The Vale Of Shadows is a dark reflection, or echo, of our world. It is a place of decay and death.'" I bit my lip, "'A plane out of phase. A place of monsters. It is right next to you, and you don't even see it.'" He finished, and we all looked at each other.

"An alternate dimension." Mike breathed.

"But...how do we get there?" Lucas asked.

"You cast shadow walk." Dustin answered without hesitation. I rolled my eyes.

"In real life, dummy." Lucas spat.

"We can't shadow walk, but..." I cast my eyes down to Ellie. "Maybe she can."

"Do you know how we can get there, Ellie?" I asked, softly playing with her wig. She nodded. Lucas sighed.

"Oh, my god!" He exclaimed.
