[Calum]

It was now time for lunch. Even though I slept at least one hour longer than what was necessary; biology and literature suck all energy I had out of my body. Mrs. March was the weirdest teacher I'd ever seen, too formal and strict. The literature teacher, Mr. Andersen, was an old man who thought he was really funny and cool. He was just awkward; it was literally awkward just looking at him.

I put the books back into my locker, 182, and went to the schoolyard instead of the cafeteria. I still had those sandwiches mom made me this morning, so why even bother eating disgusting school food?

As I positioned myself under a tree I put the bag on the ground and unzipped it, taking out one of the sandwiches from the box. I took a big bite, almost way too big, and found myself coughing a few seconds later. After another bite a big shadow blocked the sun and I looked up, seeing the boy from Biology class. What was his name again?

"So, are you gay or not?" he asked, looking at me with raised eyebrows once again. He crossed his arms over his chest, looking at me and waiting for an answer. I took a third bite from the toast, trying not to freak out.

"Michael, is it?" I asked with my mouth full, acting as cool as I could. This isn't me, would he judge me if I ran away and screamed with my arms wiggling in the air? Possibly. I looked back up at him and saw him nod.

"Yeah, that's Ashton" he said, pointing towards a guy in bandana walking towards us.

"Hey Michael, there you a-" he started but cut himself off when he saw me. "Oh, hey dude"

"Hi" I answered and took another bite. Carefree, right?

"What are you doing here Michael?" he asked, looking back at the boy with the weird hair. I couldn't help but admire him for that though, as it looked like it wasn't a lot of people around here with another hair colour than their original one.

"I was just asking him if he was gay or not" he answered, and I coughed again just by the mention of it. Come on, give me a break. I actually tried to not look gay today, and this is the reactions I get? They looked at me with big eyes as I was about to cough my lungs out.

"You can't just ask people if they're gay or not"

That was a well recognized voice. It was the blonde guy with the blue eyes, you know, the most attractive person on earth? In the galaxy even, I think. If I'm not turned on by aliens. And I don't really think I am.

"I can’t?" Michael asked as I saw his whole face drop, trying to act stupid. He knew better than this, I could see it. Everybody's eyes turned towards me as I stood up and threw the backpack over my shoulder, tucking the other arm in as well.

"I'll better get going then" I said as confident as I could and walked away, hoping for someone to follow me. I didn't like being alone, so I literally had no idea why I walked away.

"Awh, Michael! You scared him away!" Ashton yelled from behind me. He would most possibly have earned a slap or a hit somewhere on his body. Or an eye roll, I would have given him an eye roll.

I walked away quite slowly from the tree, towards the corner of the building, hoping to get around and back to my locker. As I passed the corner I saw someone stand there with his side leaning against the building, looking at me.

It was the blonde guy. Did he run here? I swear I left him just half a minute ago.

"I'm Luke" he said, reaching his hand out. Finally the pretty face got a name. I shook his hand, but before I could open my mouth he cut me off.

"I know your name" he giggled, walking next to me towards where I was going. To the next class or my locker, I don't even know.

"Okay then" I said, looking at him. When he looked back at me I smiled awkwardly and turned back towards my shoes, I don't even know if I deserved to look at his eyes.

"You have a lighter?"

This was the third time I froze today and just stopped walking. I looked at him with big eyes and he stopped a little bit after I did, looking at me with confusion.

"You smoke? Wow, this changes everything" I said, rolling my eyes and kept walking. That's just disgusting.

"No, I do not" he said, still standing where he stopped a while ago. Phew. I turned around and looked at him, he didn't? Then why did he need a lighter? "Do you have one or not?"

I put my hand in my jacket pocket and grabbed the black lighter I got from my dad a few years ago. I didn't have any use for it, so I almost always forgot I had it. I gave it to him and he took it, smiling. That smile, wow.

"Look at this" he said, squatting down towards the ground and grabbing one of those dead dandelions. I looked at him, standing up and turning the lighter on with the dandelion still in his hand. Was he going to set it on fire? Wow, that's mean.

As the fire started to destroy the flower I looked at it with big eyes, I didn't expect it to be so beautiful. If my jaw wouldn't be attached to my head it would have dropped. I looked at Luke who quickly looked back at the burnt flower. He didn't want me to notice he looked at me and smiled. But you know what? I did notice.

"So, where's your next class?" He asked.
