Shubman's pov

Shobhana was at the shoot with her idol whom she referred to as Mother Taylor. I was glad she got to work with Taylor Swift and now I was sitting on the couch at her flat scrolling through my phone. Then I realized I had yet to get her a gift, for her birthday about a month ago.

Instantly I grabbed the keys before heading out. As I drove through the streets, I remembered her expressing her love for Polaroids. Polaroids are so aesthetically pretty according to Shobhana. She used to go on and on about it. Finally, I found a shop where I could get her the camera.

Quickly getting off my bike, I entered the shop before looking for the perfect one. Finally finding one in the shade of black, I bought it, after gift wrapping it. I planned on giving her a small party, just the 2 of us.

After doing so I went to the other stores and brought the required materials for the small party. It took a while, but I got them just before she came back home and set them all up.

I heard the door lock jiggle, and the door open. As it did, I heard her footsteps as I came out of the kitchen. "Hey babe, I'm home," I heard her speak before she saw me. Home. It felt nice to hear that again.

She walked towards me, placing a soft kiss on my lips, before throwing her hands over my shoulder. "What have you been up to today?" she asked smiling, tilting her head to her right making me smile. I could just keep looking at her.

My gorgeous girl.

"Nothing. I cooked us dinner, something which I could actually do," I chuckled and saw her eyes lit up. "I do love a man who cooks," she smiled kissing my cheek.

"How was your shoot with Taylor today?" I asked as we made our way to the kitchen. "It was honestly so fun! We were only messing around for nearly 2 hours, taking funny snaps together, which I can't believe we did," she exclaimed sitting on the kitchen slab, as I went to the stove, before mixing a few ingredients as she went on about her day.

"Then only after lunch we started the actual shoot. It was so fun yaar. I can't believe I experienced being so close to mother," she smiled making me smile.

"And also take photos with her," I reminded as she pointed at me saying "Yes yes that too. Thats the most important thing," she chuckled.

"Okay here, taste this," I spoke, feeding her a spoon of the food I had made. She slowly ate it and I saw her eyes go wide. "Holy shit, Shubman this is delicious. God, I love this and you so much!" she spoke kissing me catching me off gourd.

"So, I planned a small party, which I tried organizing for us two. I missed your birthday, and so I thought we could celebrate today," I spoke as we pulled away. "Oh, you didn't have to Shubi," she muttered smiling.ย

"I had to." I muttered and saw her smile. She kept her palm on my cheek before looking at me.

"What did I do to deserve you?" She asked. "I feel like that's something I should ask you baby," I spoke swooping her off the floor carrying her to living room as the echoes of her laughter filled the house.

After leaving her in the living room, I brought all the required things.

We had dinner in silence before I gave her the gift. I saw her eyes light up upon receiving it. She slowly opened the box and a smile made a way onto her face.

"You remembered!" She exclaimed hugging me. I hugged her back and all the moments we shared before came like flashbacks.

She then kissed me making me gasp. But that didn't stop me from kissing her back.

I'm glad I got her back.
She means the world to me.
