Animals can be tamed but they could never be domesticated. Rosalice sits on the couch with her legs dangling over an arm whilst her back is pressed against the other half, reading an old book titled Fahrenheit 451 the Mikealson had seemed to have in their bookcase. Listening intently to the conversation being held over the phone, "That is not my chin, Nik. It was much more delicate."
Klaus comments back, "The only delicate thing about you, sister, is your ego."
"Well placed next to the behemoth size of yours, certainly!" Rebekah nips.
Elijah sighs out, "Could we dispense with this fascinating dispute for just a moment and return to the subject of our supposed long-lost sister?" Rosalice flips another page already halfway through the book.
Rebekah in return sighs out her response, "There's not much to discuss, Elijah. She said she was Freya, and then she darted off into the night."
Elijah folds blankets upon blankets, his eyebrows furrowing. "And you believed her?" He gave a disbelief look that Rosalice caught but never dared to say anything to him.
"Well, I met the girl in a mystical loony-binβ she could be anyone telling any lie. But, she did seem... familiar, somehow."
"Then how is she alive?" Klaus growls out, obviously frustrated. "A question, as ridiculous as its possible solutions, given this family's annoying predilection for cheating death..." Klaus then tried provoking Rosalice, feeling the need to, "Even Rosalice applies with her mysterious first glimpse with it."
Rosalice rolls her eyes, flipping another page, "At least I have a dad who loves me."
Klaus opens his mouth but no phrases left as he was left with a little shock but it got Rebekah laughing allowing Rosalice to smirk triumphantly looking past her book to Elijah's expression who's concealing a smile, terribly so.
"Well did you happen to ask, if by some similar miracle, our aunt Dahlia lives as well?" Klaus turns his attention to his younger sister, regaining himself.
Rebekah managing to calm herself, "I barely had a chance to processβ"
"Because on the list of obvious questions, it would be nice to know if the woman who placed a curse on the first-borns of this family is still breathing air." Klaus cuts off, glaring at his sister.
Rebekah scoffs, "Well, let me just turn back time and do it again to your liking then!"
"Enough!" Elijah says sharply, trying his best to be quiet as the babies take their nap. "Both of you. If she is who she says, we'll find out soon enough. For now, it remains imperative that no one learns of Hope, the twins' existence. This has been our salvation thus far."
Rosalice flips another page a little more than halfway through the book. "Unless Hayley's husband-to-be starts flapping his gums." Rosalice could hear his smile through the phone. "Perhaps I should take preventative measures and separate him from his head?"
"Jackson will do nothing to jeopardize that wedding," Elijah states, annoyance radiating off of his voice.
"Hayley's getting married?!" Rebekah gasps out. "Well, what in the hell else did I miss?"

"You don't have to watch me as if I'm a child," Elijah sighs out to his mate, meeting her eyes.
"It'd be weird if you were." Rosalice hops on the counter besides where he stood, preparing to make breakfast. "Though Jacob didn't have a hard time getting around that." She hums out, jokingly. Elijah gives her a look, raising an eyebrow. She pushes his arm, playfully, "I'm joking he didn't do anything when she wasn't mature."
"That's worse, love." Elijah states.
"I meant in emotional and mental aspects." Rosalice grabs a handful of chocolate chips. "The whole imprinting thing is that they're your best friend, protector and could as well be your lover." She begins to explain, defending the wolves. "It doesn't have to end in falling in love, it entirely depends on the imprintee. If the imprintee only sees them as a best friend, the imprint agrees and only keeps their relationship as best friends who protects. A protector if their said imprint is too young to make their own decisions. It only becomes lovers if the imprintee is around the mature age where they can make mature logical decisions and when the imprintee allows the imprinter to expand their relationship." She shoves the handful of chocolate chips into her mouth.
Elijah hums, taking in the knowledge. "I wonder who created shapeshifters."
"Taha Aki." Rosalice shows off her own knowledge. "Siring many children to possess the same gifts, didn't realize that those same gifts could be passed down from child to child."
"Reneesme is with child, is she not?" Elijah smacks Rosalice's hand when she tries reaching for the chocolate chips once again.
Rosalice slightly pouts, before resting her face. "Yeah."
"Will her child become a hybrid like her? Half human, half cold one, half shapeshifter."
"Half shapeshifter and half cold one." Rosalice corrects, Elijah gives her a questioning stare. "Shapeshifters are still human, before they can shift they're human." Rosalice grabs a hold of an egg tossing it into the air and catching it, growing bored. "They experience human child-like things, experience hormones like a normal teenager until they reach the age of 15, that's where they begin to shift. Unlike Seth who shifted when he was 14, but there's Brady Fuller and Colin Littlesea who are the youngest in the pack who shifted around the same age as Seth." Elijah raises his hand, grabbing the repeatedly thrown egg and bringing it to his side. "So they'll be a hybrid instead of a... tri-brid?"
"Tribrid?" Elijah repeats.
"Well... Sarah or Billy-"
"Sarah or Billy?"
"Sarah if it's a girl; Billy if it's a boy." Rosalice answers, then continues what she was going to say. "If they were half human, half cold one, and half shapeshifter it would make them three different species. So tribrid."
Elijah hums, cracking an egg and pouring the contents into the skillet.
A crash and cries fills the air, Rosalice pushes herself off of the counter and rushes to the living room, Elijah only taking mere seconds to get there. The mated couple eyes' land on the broken dish laying on the ground shattered to large pieces. A small cut on Hope's head, Cami trying to calm her. "Oh!" She noticed the two. "She yanked the tablecloth and that knick-knack fell on her," She informs them.
Elijah stares at the wound, his eyes becoming distant as her cries become louder. "It's just a scratch." Cami assures. The original doesn't say anything, do anything he stands there like a statue.
Rosalice places a hand on his arm, Elijah, She calls out in his mind.
Blinking back to reality, he lets out a breath. "Forgive me."
Rosalice places a kiss on his temple, moving to grab a band-aid. Coming back quickly she grabs Hope and places her on her lap and places a band-aid. Listening as Cami talked to Elijah about what was going on with him. "It's very common in traditional PTSD patients. We've done the work to face your atrocities. The truth is, it's just going to take some time to settle."
Elijah fakely smiles, shoving down any uncomfortableness he was currently feeling. "And you believe you have the power to resolve this?"
Cami sighs, truthfully saying, 'It's not that easy. There's no-" She snaps her fingers. "And you're fixed. In cases like yours, sometimes now dwelling on the problem is more productive than examining it through the minutiae of therapy." Pulling out a sheet of paper, she begins to scribble on it. "Staying mentally busy instead of physically. This houseβthough charmingβis completely falling apart."
Examining the list, Elijah clicks his tongue. "So, this is your solution? Mend the home, mend the man?"
The therapist blonde smiles, "Or, we could go fishing and I could tell you about the summer I lost my virginity-"
"I'll mend the home," Elijah cuts her off.
Rosalice places Hope down watching as she sat there playing with her cousins. "I'll spend the day with Hope and the twins... even Rosalice-"
Rosalice buts in, I'm fixing my car. Speaking in Cami's mind watching as she looks a bit confused and freaked out. Rosalice began picking her nails. "It needs an oil change and new tires." Cami turns to Rosalice watching as she quickly leaves.
"She doesn't like me, does she?"
"She does otherwise you wouldn't be around the twins or Hope." Elijah assures. "She just prefers solitude over socializing."
Cami crosses her arms, hugging herself. "Does she always... speak in people's minds? To freak them out."
Elijah softly smiles. "No, she does it if she doesn't feel like talking or to get her point across." Shrugging his shoulders, "I've never seen her do it to freak someone out."
Cami hums and looks down at the three babies. She then adds, "Spend the day not thinking. And fixing the heater, because this place is freezing at night." Elijah nods, smiling and the blonde haired woman returns the smile.
[Time Skip]
Spending the entire day in solitude, Rosalice got a lot of things done. Changing her oil, replacing the tires on her car, preparing more formulas for the twins and Hope for when it became feeding time. She even began picking up toys and tidying up the house. Upon folding blankets Rosalice froze her intuition of danger screaming at her to become invisible and run.
This time she didn't obey, plainly hiding behind a wall, feeling for a blade underneath her sleeve. An unknown voice filling the air, "Where are you, Camille?" Tensing, she finally allows herself to become invisible, to be camouflage underneath the naked eye and further.
Watching as a dark skinned man walked into the room, step after step carrying nothing but devotion to his plan. Radiating nothing but power. Finn's hand grabs a hold of Rosalice's cream colored cardigan that she left behind on the couch. A smile etching on his features. Rosalice stared at his smile and knew what held behind it as she had seen that smile a thousand times before, seen it in her memories and dreams. Dropping the cardigan he turns to look around him, calling out, "Rosalice the Aberration!" Laughing to himself, "You tricked everyone, even me and my mother with your death." Taking a dangerous step forward, towards her. "Come out from hiding and give me your first born and no one has to get hurt."
Maneuvering himself around the house, he crept and moved looking around coming up with nothing. Finn shakes his head, "I can smell your power Aberration." Finn states. "I know you're here. There's no use in hiding!" He yells, his stolen voice echoing down the hall.
With each passing moment he grew angry, and when he grew angry he couldn't help but scream louder, "I know you're in here Rosalice! Camille!"
Slipping the blade from her sleeve, she lifts her arm remaining silent, gripping the blade flicking the handle upwards. Speaking in his mind, taunting him, Or do you? Finn's eyes become slits, looking around him frantically waiting until he is able to see her. He knew her tricks, and had seen them once before.
"I do!" Finn yells towards the ceiling.
Really? Rosalice's voice echoes in his mind, acting like a whisper on one side. If you did you wouldn't be searching for me. Now it sounded on the other side of his ear. Throwing her dagger towards him, the blade strikes his thigh while another flies in passing the open door hitting Finn's abdomen.
Yanking and dropping the blade to the ground, he glares at Elijah, flicking his fingers towards him. "Lec tare sel vipre!" Telekinetically pulling Elijah towards him, before throwing him against the walls, beating him against it until he has no more use for him. Elijah collides with the living room wall breaking it. Finn leans against the wall, hissing out, "That idiotic mate of yoursβAhhβis something else." Clenching his jaw, he stares at Elijah's back. "But it won't be long until I get her."
Elijah rubs his hands together, blood sticking to his fingers. His mind slowly becomes clear as he forces himself to overcome the visions of memories. Rosalice. He thinks. Feeling a hand pressed against his shoulder, he tilts his head up staring at what Finn thinks of nothing but he sees her. Sees nothing yet can see her eyes. Find Camille. Get out. He orders. I can handle my brother.
Feeling her hand leave his shoulder. Smelling as her potent scent drifts away, her heart beats slowly drifting away from him, listening as she grabs a few items for the babies, herself and Camille. Finn rises from the doorway, scowling at him missing her. "Ahhh!"
Rosalice runs down the road, barreling down it, seeing a car coming to a stop in front of her, looking into the windshield she stares at Cami who stares at her as if she's a madwoman. Moving to the driver's seat, she opens the door. "Get in the passenger seat." She orders, panting a bit.
Cami gives her a weird strange look. "What... why?"
"Now." Rosalice's voice grew harsh, her order becoming a demand. Cami unbuckles herself and goes to exit the car but the brunette woman pushes her to climb over the console.
"What's wrong? Where's Elijah?" Cami started to ask millions of questions all at once. "What's going on Rosalice?" Rosalice paid no mind as she tried turning on the car, pressing the button. Cursing at it, it wasn't turning on.
Salem whines, Rosalice hums out, "All is okay." She takes a deep breath, reminding herself to calm down. Her eyes look towards the safe house taking all of it in. Finn was in there with Elijah. Elijah was handling it and was expecting her to do her part and get them out of there.
The house explodes, bursting into orange flames, Cami jumps in shock watching as what didn't explode be engulf by dancing flames. "Oh my god!" The passenger gasps, horrified.
All of a sudden the car's power clicks back on, everything returning to normal once again. Rosalice turns her head towards the backseat staring at Salem, a soft look applying to her features. "Nice one Sal." She praises, quickly turning the car around as she drives down the road, tumbling down the street at unremarkable speed.
