"Come on! Let's go! Let's go!" Jay said, opening the front door.

"Coming." Gloria said, holding Manny's shoulders.

"What's the big deal anyways?" Manny asks as a car pulls up, with a speed boat attached to it.

"It's a surprise. You'll see." Jay said, now locking the front door.

"Oh, my god!" Manny And I said once we had noticed the speed boat.

"Ay, Jay, you didn't?" Gloria said with a grin. She turned away from the bait and looked at Jay.

"Yes, I did. I got us into that new Benihana." Jay said.

"Benihana?" I ask, staring at the speed boat. Manny ran over to the boat and climbed into it.

"They got a chef there that can flip a shrimp into his own hat." Jay said then turned around. "What the hell?" Jay's eyebrows furrowed together. Manny's Dad got out of the car, he clapped once to get everyone's attention.

"Dad!" Manny grinned, getting off of the boat and ran to his dad.

"There's my boy!" Manny's Dad, Javier, said, then laughed once Manny engulfed him in a hug.

"The hell is he doing here?" Jay asked Gloria in his usual grumpy tone.

"Jay." Gloria warned, looking towards her husband.

"No. He was supposed to pick up Manny, and Y/N yesterday and disappointed them again, as usual. Now he just sails in here out of the blue?" Jay shook his head. Javier walks over to the three of us, Manny by his side.

"There's my girl." Javier said, hugging me. I hugged back because I didn't want to be rude, but I didn't like the guy that much. I used to, but after five times of him cancelling his visit I developed a disliking to him. "So." Javier began as he broke away form our hug, "Shall we go inside?" He asked. Gloria unlocks the door and walks inside, the four of us following behind. "So I would have called, but while I was buying this boat for a friend, I got chased out to sea by another boat." Javier said, putting his bags down.

"Were they pirates?" Manny asked.

"I didn't stop to ask." Javier smiled.

"Well, it's not hard to tell. Did they have curvy swords and sing songs about how fun it is to be a pirate?" Jay joked.
Manny's dad laughed.

"Wow. Jay. Such a beautiful house, huh?" Javier said, taking his sunglasses off and looked around the house.

"So, we were just headed out to dinner." Jay told him.

"What, you think I showed up empty-handed? I brought dinnerβ€” lobsters!" Javier said, grabbing two lobsters out of his bag.

"Did you catch them with your bare hands?" Manny asked.

"No. But I bought them with my bare hands."

"Wow!" Manny said. It was almost like he was brainwashed to find everything Javier said cool.

"And I have some nice wine, a good Cuban cigar for Jay. Hey, Manny, why don't you take a picture of him with your new camera phone." Javier suggested.

"I don't have a camera phone." Manny said, his eyebrows furrowing.

"You do now." Javier said, holding a small phone.

"Awesome!" Manny grinned, waking over to his dad, "All of this excitement, my heart is just going."

"Y/N." Javier began, "For you I have this beautiful (favourite jewel) ring.

"Wow! You didn't have to get me this." I told him whilst walking over to him, I felt a little bit bad for disliking him. But this ring wasn't gonna make me like him like Manny does.

"Now, Manny, listen to me. You bring that camera phone with you when you come visit me this summer. We'll go in a race car with my friend, and after that, maybe a bullfight. I know all these guys. The matadors, they're like artists."

"You're quite the bullfight artist yourself." Jay told Javier.

"I, uhβ€” Manny, why don't you show your father to the kitchen? Y/N, why don't you go with them." Gloria told us. Manny nodded.

"Por favor. Dios mΓo. Someone put on some music. Tonight, we dance!" Javier said.

"Oh, were gonna dance." Jay told him.

"Oye, mi amor, ΒΏestΓ‘ bien que me quede aquΓ esta noche?" Javier spoke in Spanish.

"Ay, Javier, yo no sΓ©. EspΓ©rate para ver quΓ© puedo hacer." Gloria replied.

"What did he say? Does he need money for the lobsters?" I heard Jay ask.

β€”β€”

During the night I woke up. Manny had also woken up. Manny opened the bedroom door as quietly as possible. "What are you doing?" I ask. He jumps at the sound of my voice.

"Sorry. Didn't mean to wake you." He said, turning to look at me.

"Doesn't matter." I said as I sat up, rubbing my eyes, "What are you doing?"

"I think I heard people downstairs."

"Really?" I asked, my eyebrows furrowed and fear flashed across my face, ""It's probably just Jay and Javier, right? Or-or Gloria and Jay."

"I don't know." Manny shrugged, then continued to leave the room.

"Wait. I'll go with you." I said getting out of bed. Manny turned to look at me. I grabbed a baseball bat, that I kept under my bed. When I stood back up I noticed Manny's confused, and slightly concerned face, "Just in case." I told him.

"Why do you keep that under your bed?" He whispered to me as we carefully walked down the stairs.

"Just in case. You never know when someone will try to break in." I told him as we reached the bottom of the stars. The voices started to sound like Jay and Javier. We walked into a room and they were there, playing pool.

"You're right. I shouldn't say that." Jay said making Javier laugh.

"What are you guys doing up?" We asked them.

"Manny, Y/N, did we wake you up? I'm sorry." Jay said.

"No. I was doing my science extra credit." Manny told them.

"Of course you were." Jay said.

"You were? Huh, thought you was asleep." I said.

"Why do you have a baseball bat?" Javier asked me.

"Ohβ€”" I looked down at the oak bat in my hand, then looked back up at the two men, "I thought you guys may of been robbers." I said, putting the bat behind me.

"Where did you even get that from?" Jay asked, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"Under her bed." Manny told them, "So, can we play?"

"That's up to your dad." Jay said, pointing at Javier. Javier thought for a moment.

"Actually, I think we're done with pool for right now. I have a better idea for the four of us. Vamos. You three might wanna get changed into some clothes."

β€”β€”

"So, how do you know this guy?" Jay asked.

"He owes me a little favour." Javier said as we came to a stop. A bunch of lights came on and revealed we were in a curveball pitch.

"This is the coolest night ever!" Manny grinned.

"Now, let's see about that curve ball." Javier said, "Y/N, pass me your bat." I gave him my bat. For the rest of the night we played curveball. It was quite fun and time flew. When it was close to 3:00am we went home.

β€”β€”

It was now the next day. Manny and I were sat in the kitchen, eating breakfast.

"Manny, Y/N, we're gonna be so late for school." Gloria told us, "Why are you two so tired today?" She asked. Jay came and tapped Manny's shoulder, making him wake up a little bit more. I wasn't too tired, but you could tell I didn't have enough sleep, and sometimes I wouldn't think straight.

"Any reason I can't take them?" Jay asked.

"I'm surprised you're up. I know the time you went back to bed." Gloria said to Jay.

"Oh, it was nothing. We just went out, we hit a few balls. And you'll never guess where. I guess Javier knew a guy." Jay smiled.

"And you know what? Now that he knows you, the next time he needs something, you are the guy." Gloria said. Manny's head fell from his hand and onto the counter, making a load bang.

"Ah, Dios mΓo. Did you take him with you?" Gloria asked Jay, raising her voice.

"You couldn't wait to get to school to do that?" Jay asked Manny. Manny looked up at him, holding his head in pain.

"Y/N, did they take you as well?" Gloria asked. Without thinking I nodded.

"Right." Gloria pursed her lips, " Manny, Y/N, vΓ‘monos para el colegio. Let's go. We're gonna be so late. VΓ‘monos." Manny And I mouthed 'Help' to Jay before Gloria dragged us by our arms. "Vamos a llegar tardΓsimo, Manny, And Y,N, ΒΏquΓ© te pasa? Get in the car."

"I thought you said you wanted me to bond with Javier." Jay said, following us to the car. I got in the car whilst Manny stood next to the open car door.

"I said be nice, Jay. I didn't say take Manny and Y/N up all night and play games."

"Then we got hot dogs." Manny and I said with a smile.

"Ay. Go to sleep!" Gloria said Han turned to look at Jay, "If I wanted to be married to a wild man, I would have stayed with Javier." Gloria said. A car pulled into the drive way, honking.

"Aha! ΒΏQuΓ© pasa?" Javier shouted.

"Dad!" Manny grinned.

"Por dios, no." Gloria said, shaking her head.

"What the hell?" Jay said. Javier laughed as he hugged Manny.

"Hey, Hey, Hey, wait a minute. You're not leaving, are you?" Javier asked the two of us.

"We've got school." Manny And I tell him in unison.

"What? School?"

"Yes, School." Gloria said, turning around. "That's where people go to learn things, like not to keep children up all night."

"They told her?" Javier asked, looking towards Jay.

"They're weak." Jay said.

"Well, listen, you said you used to like riding motorcycles, right? So I brought you one." Javier said to Jay.

"I know. But I kind of got workβ€”" Jay began but Javier cut him off with a scoff.

"Work." Javier said, shaking his head.

"Go, Jay." Manny said.

"Yeah, Go." Javier told him.

"Yes, Go, Jay, And take Manny and Y/N with you too!" Gloria said sarcastically, and added a sarcastic smile.

"Okay." Manny shrugged with a smile, missing her sarcasm.

"No, Manuel Alberto! In the car or I put you in the trunk!" Gloria snapped at him. Manny got in the car and sat next to me.

"Jay, I'm not gonna argue anymore. I'm not gonna say anything else. Do whatever you want. But I don't wanna hear you any more saying that Colombians are crazy, 'cause you're the one that is acting crazy, even though he's the one that is making you act crazy. So I don't know what the hell I'm talking about!" Gloria said getting in the car.

β€”β€”

School went by like normal, Manny fell asleep once or twice though. After school we said goodbye to Javier. Jay watched him as he drove away. "Come on. Let's go." Manny said to Jay.

"All right." Jay replied. The four of us walked inside.
