(hi yes hello I'm alive, sorry for not updating for a month :') take this 3k semi-filler, i promise it'll get a bit more exciting from here on out. enjoy! and no i didnt edit this i wanted to get this out as soon as possible)
Xisuma flew around his base, admiring the dark prismarine spikes that he had spent hours building on. He yawned as he made his way over to the entrance, stumbling in like the graceful turtle he was.
He straightened himself up, thankful that no one had seen his crash landing. It would have been quite embarrassing.
He continued to walk down a hall, heading into a room with two monitors sitting on a desk, a worn black leather chair tucked carefully into the desk. Loose papers littered across the wooden surface, small neat words printed onto the white crisp papers. Bookshelves lined up on the other side of the room, plenty of books crammed into the different compartments. Beside the desk was a messy green bed, looking as though it hadn't been used in days.
He pulled out the chair and seated himself on the worn leather, cracking his knuckles. He raised his arms over his shoulders, loosening his aching body. A series of cracks sounded in a satisfying aray.
He reached over the papers and pushed a button on the monitors, the screens slowly turning on. Blue-tinted holograms pulled up around him as well, courtesy of his visor. Numbers lined up on the screens and holograms, showing the admin the stats of Hermitcraft. The screens in front of him stayed still for a moment before flashing a light shade of red.
An alarming ding sounded around the room, signaling that there was a problem with the code.
He resisted the urge to groan, the red fading away into its normal bluish shade. A few seconds passed, many codes filling onto the screens before him. He looked closely at the code, instantly noticing a few small errors in the code.
Nothing he couldn't resolve in a few hours of work.
He sighed, looking longingly at the lump of blankets beside him. It had been what, 3 days since he last slept? He'll be fine, probably. He's gone longer without sleep.
Sleep can wait.
~~~
Xisuma stifled a yawn into the back of his gloved hand, turning off the screens before him. With a wave of his hand, the holograms vanished into thin air, leaving nothing behind but a few blueish-green particles.
He got up from his chair and proceeded to flop onto the bed beside his desk, the blanket flaring out under him. A few hours had passed and the code was finally problem free.
He took off his helmet and his hair immediately flopped over his eyes. He brushed He traced the scratches on the outside of his helmet, feeling the rough metal under his fingers.
Breaking out of the trance, he placed his helmet beside him, taking off his communicator as well and placed it down on the desk, only for it to buzz the second it touched the wooden surface.
With a heavy sigh, he picked up the communicator and brought it up to his face, brushing the hair out of his eyes. He scrolled through his notifications, his eyes twinkling with amusement when he skimmed through the server chat notifications.
One notification had caught his eye, his thumb hovering over the screen as he read through the preview. His eyes widened in surprise, making him sit up in his bed. He jabbed his finger at the screen to see the full message.
<Admin HQ> Alert: Reminder for Xisumavoid. Tier Purpura trials scheduled for next week on Monday @ 11 am. Please arrive 10 minutes in advance.
"Crap, I forgot about the trials." He outwardly groaned, his voice echoing down the halls. He hastily strapped the communicator back onto his wrist, hauling himself up from the bed. His muscles ached, screaming for sleep, but he ignored it and made his way over to the bookshelves. His eyes skimmed over the titles of the books, plucking out 'Tiers of Minecraft Admins: A History' and 'The Mastering of PVP'
He tucked the thick hardcover books under his arm, wandering over to his desk and putting his helmet back on his head. The blue-green visor slightly light up, numbers lining his field of vision, showing him the more important stats of his server. He hummed as he brought up his communicator, preparing to log off Hermitcraft and practice with BBH and Skeppy for the trials in the HQ library.
As much as he would rather do it alone on the Hermitcraft server, he'd rather not have the hermits at risk for potential harm with his admin powers.
<Xisumavoid> logging off the server for a few hours, message me if something comes up!
<BDoubleO> no worries!
<Admin HQ> Alert: Reminder for Xisumavoid. Tier Purpura trials scheduled for next week on Monday @ 11 am. Please arrive 10 minutes in advance.
[Sent last Monday]
The message stared back at Xisuma, as if it was challenging him. His head was propped up by the palm of his hand, the communicator settled on the wooden desk under him. He stifled a yawn, rubbing a hand over his face. His helmet was discarded beside him on the unkempt bed, the sunrise shone through the window, glinting off the visor. He tried to blink the sleep away, lifting his head up slowly to check the time.
10:25 am.
He brought his other hand up to his face, burying his face into his hands. He swore silently, looking longingly at the clock in front of him. The silence around him felt suffocating, the rhythmic ticking of the gold clock on the wall causing a heavy weight in his chest.
He leaned back in his seat, running a hand through his messy hair. He drummed his fingers on the wooden surface, staring up at the ceiling.
He had been at the HQ library almost all week, and the training centers too, cramming as many different tactics and knowledge about the Tier Purpura tiers into his head. He trained and studied with Skeppy and BBH, as they were both also going into the trials with him.
With every book he read, every swish of magic thrown at him, aided in the ever-growing knowledge in his head. In each time of him fighting either Skeppy or BBH in the training center, he had successfully beat both of them under the five minute mark, which is something that he's pretty proud of.
Sleep? What's that.
10:30 am
The leather chair squeaked under him as he got up, slipping on his helmet before he brought up his communicator and logged off the server. He could be 20 minutes early, right? It's not like he'd be the only one there.
As he arrived in the main portal hub, where both admins and players can travel from server to server, along with a special portal on the side that would lead to your own personal "room," or sleep quarters you could say.
Walking shiftly through the entrance to Admin HQ, separate from players, he reviewed the possible trial events in his mind, almost bumping into a tier Rosea admin along the way.
Muttering a hasty apology to the admin, he quickly made his way over to he assigned room. He pushed through the double doors, the clock on the wall turning 10:34.
It took a lot of willpower not to shove his face into his hands, especially since he was in a room with 4 other people, not including the two prime admins as they had not shown up yet. Xisuma looked around at his surroundings with a slightly panicked look, self-doubt slowly rising in his mind.
Why in earth did I choose to do this, I'm not even prepared that well-
His thoughts were cut off with a loud thud, followed by the door to the room opening and closing. Skeppy ran in just as the clock had turned to 10:54, panting heavily as if he had just run a marathon.
"Sorry I'm late- I s-slept in-" His face flushed red with embarrassment, his blue hoodie flopping over his head. The diamond enchanted sword strapped to his back glinted in the dim light of the room, reflecting off the walls. He took a minute to look around, his face contorting into a slightly confused look. "Hey wait a minute, where are the primes?"
"Behind you." A voice responded behind Skeppy from behind Skeppy, causing him to turn around and nearly trip over his feet. The Prime merely chuckled, covering it up with a small cough. He shifted the cup of coffee in his hands, tucking a stack of papers neatly under his arm.
Libra strolled past the two males, she too clutching a cup of coffee in one hand and a stack of papers in the other. She made her way over to the table in the center of the room, placing down the things in her grasp.
"Thank you for those who were able to attend today's trials." She started, glancing around the room of admins. Shifting through the stack of papers, she pulled out a list and started to read aloud. "We will be doing the trials in alphabetical order, starting with the tier Argentum trials. AppleG?"
"Present." AppleG cracked his knuckles and got up from his seat, looking more nervous with every step closer he got to the table. Libra gave him a tight lipped smile, handing over a paper for him to sign. "Loosen up a bit, and good luck."
He nodded, quickly signing the paper before handing it back. Xisuma's gaze followed AppleG as he approached the double doors near the back, the doors opening and closing the second he went through.
So now, we wait.
Xisuma could hear his heartbeat pound in his chest as he fiddled with his communicator in his lap. He could feel a heavy stare coming from across the room and looked up, eyes widening in surprise when he noticed the male Prime staring at him intently. The Prime shifted his gaze back to his colleague, noding slightly to something Libra said to him quietly.
He got up from his seat and walked through the doors that AppleG went through, taking a sip of coffee as he passed. He seemed to linger for a second when he passed Xisuma, throwing a quick glance at the tier Caeruleus admin.
Xisuma let out a breath he didn't know he was keeping in as he left, looking back down at his communicator and checked the time, hoping that it would help distract him from the overwhelming pressure in his chest. He yawned before closing his eyes, hoping to get at least a few minutes of sleep before his trial.
Well that was odd.
~~~
"Psssst Xisuma, wake up. It's time for your trial."
Xisuma snapped out of sleep, Skeppy lightly jabbing his arm. Both he and Bad had already finished their trials and were waiting for Xisuma to finish his, because that's what friends are for, right?
"Okay okay I'm up. Stop poking me." He hissed quietly, strapping his communicator back on his wrist before walking over to the table. Wisp exited out of the doors and offered a weak wave to Xisuma as he passed, making his way out of the room.
He gave Libra a small smile, getting one back in return. She handed him a pen and paper, pointing to the bottom where he was supposed to sign. "Don't stress it, I know you'll do great."
"Thank you, Prime Admin Libra." He signed the paper and handed both the pen and paper back over. He made his way to the back doors, his heart beat growing louder and louder with each step he took.
There's no going back now.
He pushed through the doors and made his way down a narrow hallway, the doors clicking shut behind him. Many portaits lined the walls of the hallway, each of them containing an image of each of the Prime Admins throughout the years of Minecraft Admins.
Xisuma had always hoped to become a Prime Admin, have his portrait up on the wall with the rest of them. But now wasn't the time for daydreaming, he had a trial to get to.
He quickened his pace walked through yet another door, finding himself in a dark room. He went to go stand in the middle, rocking slightly back and forth on his heels.
"Xisumavoid, correct?" A voice growled into his ear suddenly, sending shivers down his spine. Flinching, he turned around, only to find no one behind him. "Hermitcraft's Admin?"
"Y-yes Prime." He stammered, mentally face palming at his stutter. Cautiously looking around at his dark surroundings, his nose crinkled in amusement. Soul lanterns hung from the ceiling, connected by a chain, illuminating the room with an eerie blue glow. The fire in the lantern flickered every so often, making the room feel a bit more lively as the cold air that hung heavy in the room was a bit suffocating.
"And you're a tier Caeruleus?" The Prime questioned, walking around Xisuma with an air of superiority, head up and shoulders back. Xisuma nodded this time, not wanting to risk stuttering over his words again.
"Interesting." He muttered, shaking his head quickly before turning back to Xisuma. "Alright, let's see what we have here."
He approached Xisuma and stood beside him, leaning slightly forward.
"Hit me."
Xisuma slashed out his blue-green magic beside him, hoping to have made a mark on the Prime. Instead of meeting a solid form beside him, his magic disintegrated into thin air.
"A bit slow, don't you think?"
"Shut it."
The Prime chuckled, suddenly appearing right in front of Xisuma and sent a swoosh of magic towards him, making him nearly topple over from the sheer amount of force amplified in that single blow. He narrowed his eyes as he felt the magic inside him bubble, balancing his footing with his hands outstretched in front of him, ready to strike.
"Let us begin, shall we?"
~~~
Xisuma limped slightly as he walked back to the main portal hub, Skeppy and Bad following beside him.
The two Prime Admins were walking a bit behind the three Caeruleus admins, talking quietly among themselves. The three had stayed behind to help with whatever needed tidying, which was barely anything.
His trial went pretty well, having passed with flying colours. He had successfully disarmed the male Prime, and he felt extremely proud of himself. The Prime was impressed, giving him words of encouragement, which was something that Xisuma took to heart. It's not often that you'd get praise from the Primes, let alone this one.
When they got to the portal hub, Xisuma bid them a quick farewell and entered the portal, nearly tripping over a stray shulker box that was in front of the portal, his limp not helping the situation at all.
The inside of his visor light up slightly, numbers faintly lining up the edges of the visor. His visor had turned into a nice shade of purple, symbolizing that he was now a tier Purpura. He technically was, but they'd have an official ceremony for promotions and stuff later on in the week.
He turned on his communicator and went through his notifications, chuckling quietly at the conversation in the server chat.
<Iskall85> but diorite is just gross!
<BDoubleO> just because of that, I'll build a castle made completely out of diorite
<Iskall85> you little piece of shit
<MumboJumbo> iskall! language!
<Iskall85> but bdubs is being mean :(
Xisuma put down his communicator and prepared to launch a firework into the sky, double checking his elytra durability. A certain poster caught his attention out of the corner of his eyes, making a slight delay in his plans.
"So you going to participate?" Grian popped up behind him, making him jump slightly. "To be honest, I'm not that great at pvp so I might just sit out and watch..."
"Grian, where on earth did you even come from- You scared the crap outta me." He placed a hand over his heart, letting out a dramatic sigh before moving his hand down. "And to answer your question, I might participate. It depends if I get enough sleep before then."
Grian raised an eyebrow at Xisuma, crossing his arms over his chest.
"X, when was the last time you've slept?"
"I- uh-" He scratched the back of his neck nervously, focusing his gaze on the stone below them. "A week ago? Maybe? I'm not exactly sure but-"
"Xisuma I swear-" Grian dragged him over to the nether portal and entered through, continuing to drag him to his base. "You sir, are going to get some sleep right now. Don't even think about arguing with me, because I know I'm right."
"But-" Xisuma was cut off by being shoved into yet another portal, stumbling into his base. "You don't have to do this, you know."
"I know," Grian pulled him down a series of corridors before making it to his room, leaning against the doorway. "but I'm going to do this. Now go sleep before I suffocate you with a pillow."
Xisuma shook his head in defeat, laughing silently. He brushed past Grian who was leaning against the doorway, arms crossed over his chest.
"I'm gonna go work on my base now, but you better get 12 hours of sleep." Grian called over his shoulder as he backed out of the doorway, walking down the hall. "I'll be back in 12 hours to check if you've slept or not!"
He let out a snort, moving to take off his helmet and communicator. Placing them both on his desk, he made his way onto his bed, curling up in the blankets. He could feel the drowsiness wash over his mind, yawning into the back of his hand.
Man, that small gremlin can be so stubborn yet so persuasive.
