Orpheus was dreaming, he could tell. He found himself in the great hall by himself apart from another figure. It was a girl. She had black hair that flowed to her feet, her eyes were a mix of colours, the house colours to be exact. She was wearing Hogwarts robes but her robes had the Hogwarts crest on instead of a house crest. She watched him, amused.
He finally spoke. "Who are you?" he asked curiously. The girl giggled. "Why I am the spirit of Hogwarts. I was made with a bit of each founder's magic. I am the magic of Hogwarts. I speak to the founder's descendants through their dreams. I see you are not blood related to any of them but you were adopted into the Potter Evans family right? "
Orpheus nodded and the spirit continued." I have told the founders about you. They are very excited to meet you. Hogwarts needs to change and I can sense you are going to do it."
Orpheus held his head down." Spirit of Hogwarts, I would be happy to assist with anything." The spirit giggled again." Oh, Orpheus Lupin-Black, you do make me laugh. Your first task is an important one. I need you to get the founders portraits out of the locked room on the third floor and put them in the common rooms where they belong."
Orpheus nodded. "It is a disgrace to see they were locked away. I have lessons tomorrow though."
The spirit giggled. "The teachers tomorrow somehow won't be able to access their classrooms." Orpheus calculated the timings. "That would mean that because It will be a Friday when I wake up, I will have three days!" The Spirit smiled. "I can feel you waking up. Goodbye Heir."
Orpheus felt himself waking up. "Wait! What do I call you?"
The Spirit grinned. "Call me Hope.."
Orpheus awoke to find Draco clutched to him. He slowly woke up the blonde haired teen. "Come on Draco, we have a lot to do today." Draco sat up. "What do you mean?" Orpheus looked at his mate. "The Spirit of Hogwarts spoke to me. She was created by the magic of all four founders and she controls all of the magic inside the castle. She gave me a task to do today." Draco nodded. "Wait but we have class!" Orpheus smirked.
"We won't when the teachers aren't able to get into their classrooms."
------
"I can't believe you were able to predict that!" Draco exclaimed following Orpheus. Orpheus laughed. "Thank Hope for that!" They reached the third corridor and Orpheus found the locked door in no time. He tried 'Alohamora' on the door but it didn't work. He then showed his Lord and one Heir ring to the door. It still didn't open. Orpheus groaned. "Hope, a little help here?" The door opened and Orpheus laughed. "Thanks Hope."
They entered the room to find four dusty portraits hanging up on the wall. Orpheus locked the door behind him and flickered on the light. "Hello?" he asked. Four curious faces were looking at him and Draco. Orpheus stepped forward. "It is an honour to meet you. My name is Orpheus Lupin-Black and I am the Lord of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw and the Heir of Slytherin. Hope talked to me in a dream and told me about you in this room and I couldn't help but be disgusted. I am here to take you to your common rooms. "
The portraits smiled. The yellow portrait talked."Thank you dear. It is good to know that Hogwarts has finally been given a good owner. I am Helga Hufflepuff."
The blue portrait talked next. "You seem very intelligent young boy. Make the Ravenclaw line proud. I'm Rowena Ravenclaw." Orpheus nodded.
The red portrait talked next. "I can see your bravery very clearly. You must be very powerful. I am Godric Gryffindor."
The green portrait was the last founder left to speak. "Your Parents must like Mythology. Are your parents the Lord of Slytherin?" Orpheus shook his head. "The Lord of Slytherin is my Godfather Tom Riddle. Him along with his husband Severus Snape - who teaches potions - don't have or want children so they passed the Heirships to me. About the other Founders, a man stole me from my real parents and gave me to another couple who didn't have a child but wanted to adopt. He put a glamour on me so they didn't connect the dots and when they got killed, it was my uncle, the one related to Slytherin, he came to rescue me and tell the Potters the family who adopted me. Then the man who kidnapped me came and killed the Potter's and technically Tom though he survived because he had made Horcruxes. I only found out my true parentage last summer. Although The Potters were considering giving me their heirships before I got kidnapped. The Male Potter, James was a descendant of Gryffindor whilst the Female Potter was from a squib line descended from both Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw."
Godric growled."Who dare harm my grandchild? Even though you aren't blood related, I already think of you as a grandchild."
Orpheus nodded. "I am honoured by that. It was Albus Dumbledore, the current Headmaster."
It was then that Helga noticed Draco. "Dear, who is that at the back?" Orpheus turned around. He pulled Draco forward. "This is my Mate, Draco Malfoy. He is a Slytherin."
Salazar smirked at Godric. Rowena gasped. "What creature are you?" she asked. Orpheus smiled. "I'm a Half-Wolf. My mother, Remus Lupin is a Werewolf. Him and my father Sirius Black share the role of Defense Against the Dark Arts role."
Salazar and the rest of the founders looked aghast. "Defense Against the Dark Arts? Why defend against them when you can learn them and by learning them you would know how to defend yourself."
Orpheus grinned. "That can be arranged."
Orpheus then looked at the paintings. "Is it okay if I shrink you down and clean you up. Then Draco and I will go hang you up in your common rooms "
The founders nodded. "That sounds great dear." Helga said. Both Orpheus and Draco shrunk down the portraits to fit in their pockets. Orpheus took Salazar and Godric whilst Draco took Rowena and Helga. They ran towards the dorms and locked the door to their room.
They took the portraits out and used cleaning charms to clean them up. They looked at the founders. "I forgot to say Salazar, I can speak parseltongue" Salazar grinned. "Then you are truly an heir. They put the portraits back in their pockets and went down into the Slytherin common room. Draco and Orpheus looked for a good spot and settled for in front of the fireplace. It was in the center and Salazar would be able to see everyone. Orpheus took the portrait out and hung him up.
The Slytherins quickly noticed and crowded the painting. Salazar looked a bit annoyed at all the questions that the students were asking. Orpheus smirked. "See you later Salazar." he said.
They then made their way to the Gryffindor common room. The portrait of the Fat Lady scowled. "Password?" she asked. Orpheus rolled his eyes. "As Lord Gryffindor I request access" He then put his hand on the doorframe and the Fat Lady was forced to open. The two boys climbed in. Ron and Hermione were sat on the couch, Fred and George were seen crouched over some kind of item whilst Neville was sat watching them. "Hullo." Neville said. "Hi Neville." Orpheus said. He would have to talk to Neville, Luna and the Twins a bit more. It was then the Twins noticed him. "So if it isn't the boy who confused the hell out of Dumbles!" they exclaimed. Orpheus snorted. "Hi you two." The twins leaned in to whisper something in his ear. "Don't worry, we are on your side. We know who you were before you got kidnapped." Orpheus gaped. "Wha- How?" The Twins laughed. "Luna. She told us. She only told us and Neville though." Orpheus smiled.
The Twins grinned looking at Draco. "Does Ickle Orpheus have a boyfriend?" they asked. Orpheus smirked, showing them the consort ring. "Jokes on you we actually are dating." The twins laughed. It was then Ron and Hermione entered the conversation. Ron went to Orpheus and Draco. "What are you two snakes doing in here?" Orpheus smirked. "Lord Gryffindor business." he stated. Hermione still looked upset from earlier. "Why is Malfoy here though?" She asked. Orpheus laughed. "Why shouldn't I let my boyfriend come with me?" He flashed the consort ring and watched as Ron went red with anger. "What, you are gay? You are a disgrace!" Orpheus growled.
He held down River who kept trying to take control. "You better take that back otherwise my wolf will come out to play and you know what happened last time." Ron whimpered and backed off. Orpheus took out the portrait and hung it on the wall. The common room went silent looking at the portrait. "Well Godric want to introduce yourself?" Godric winked at Orpheus. "My name is Godric Gryffindor and I was the first openly gay wizard." Orpheus wished he could take a picture of Ron's face. They soon left the Gryffindor common room, not before saying to Neville and the Twins that they were welcome to join the Slytherin Table.
Their next stop was the Hufflepuff common room. Cedric Diggory was hanging outside the common room with Cho Chang. Cedric smiled at the two younger boys. "Hi, you're Orpheus right?" Orpheus nodded. "This is my boyfriend Draco." Cedric nodded. "Well, this is my girlfriend Cho." Cho smiled at the two. "Hi." Cedric bit his lip. "Is there anything you wanted?" he asked. Orpheus shook his head. "No, but I'd recommend going into the common room in about ten minutes." Cedric grinned. "Will do. Thanks for trying to improve the school by the way, I appreciate it." Orpheus smiled. "It's my pleasure. I love this place too much to let it slide." He then summoned the Hufflepuff ring and pressed it against the barrels. The barrels opened to reveal a door. "Bye Cedric!" Orpheus said, leaving by a shocked looking Cedric.
In the Hufflepuff common room, Professor Sprout and Susan Bones were tutoring some first years. Professor Sprout grinned. "I was expecting you two. I assume you are here to change something?" Orpheus shook his head. "I'm here to add an exciting new discovery." Professor Sprout squealed when the portrait got put up. Orpheus looked at Helga. "I could Imagine you and Professor Sprout here getting along well." Before he left, he turned to Susan. "I'd recommend speaking to Daphne Greengrass if I were you. She has expressed an interest of being your friend. Of course, this means you are welcome on the Slytherin table if you'd like." Susan nodded. "I'll talk to her tonight."
Orpheus left the room and Draco grinned at him. "Playing Matchmaker now huh?" Orpheus kissed him on the cheek. "Now I have my true love, I want to help others find theirs!" Draco blushed. "You are very sweet, you know that?"
They went to the Ravenclaw common room and as they approached the door, a riddle was asked. Orpheus ignored the riddle and placed his ring on the door. The door swung open. Orpheus and Draco were met with an unpleasant sight - well to Orpheus it was unpleasant. There were a few Ravenclaw girls and a few boys and they were bullying Luna. Orpheus stayed at the back of the room watching so he had proof of it. One of the boys, who he recognised to be Terry Boot shouted at Luna, "Oi Loony, think you are so smart, what is going to happen to me in the future?" Luna frowned. "You will be ridiculed for your cruel behavior and Hogwarts will not like your presence." Orpheus grinned. That could become very true. Terry Boot's friend laughed. "What a freak, like that is going to happen! See Terry here is popular, unlike you. There is a reason you are called 'Loony Lovegood'" it was then River took control. He growled, going to the center of the room where it was happening. He took Luna and held her close to him." I am not happy with any of you."He growled." Luna here is like a sister to me and is in my pack. If I hear any of you insulting and bullying her again, I won't even let Orpheus decide. I will take control and I will rip your throats out." Luna giggled, petting Orpheus/River's head." Calm down River."
Terry Boot paled." What do you mean? You are Orpheus arent you? " Luna rolled her eyes." No, River here is his Wolf! It seems Orpheus was so angry that River took control." Terry paled even more. "He isn't a Were-Wolf is he?" Luna giggled. "No of course not! If Sirius was a Were-Wolf too he would be but Sirius isn't so he is a Half-Wolf"
Terry stepped back. "Ew, you are a freak!" River's eyes flashed red. "You do realise I could kick you out of this school right? You wouldn't finish your education and then wouldn't be able to get a job, right? People would look down at you, they wouldn't listen to you. How do I know this? I have seen it all too many times."
Draco stepped forward."That is my boyfriend you were talking about. You know, my father is so influential he could enable you to never be able to get a job in the ministry. Let's go Orpheus, Luna. I'm sick of all of the bullshit." Draco drawled. Orpheus hung up the picture and left. As he was leaving, he could hear Rowena screaming at them.
Luna looked at Orpheus." I told the twins and Neville of who you used to be, is that alright? " Orpheus nodded."Moon, if you trust them I trust them."
Draco stepped in. "So.. What kind of relationship do you two have with each other?" Luna laughed. "Oh Draco, no need to be jealous of us. Our relationship is of a brotherly, sisterly relationship. I guess that makes you my brother in law!"
Draco smiled at the younger girl, his jealousy going away. "Okay Moon, I'll be your brother (in law)"
Orpheus turned to the two. "Now, I'm glad we made ammends but we need to go to Dumbledore and alert him of how unobservant he is."
Draco nodded, quickly checking Luna for injuries. "Let's go."
