The night was peaceful, the air was clear and there were no noises other than the sound of sleeping animals and the sounds of two giant creatures, but something in the sky had other plans for these two giants.

They walked through the trees, and nothing stood in their wake mostly because everyone was asleep on the island and these two were just having a walk around the island.

They were orange in color, they had long blue stripes, one of them had two blue stripes under his eye while the other one had freckles on her back, both of them had emerald green eyes and razor sharp teeth along with two small arms, a muscular body, two robust legs and a long tail to balance themselves with.

They've only recently came to the this island and the only reason the chose to stay here was because they had very close friends here that knew how to hide them or rather how to hide what they were fighting for from whatever threat that was after them.

"Do you think that this will be a safe place to raise our child?" The female giant asked.

"Rose, our closest friends live here and plus considering where we've been hiding the egg. I'm sure that monster won't find out where it is, hopefully." The male responded.

"That last part doesn't exactly fuel me with much confidence" the female 'Rose' said back to her mate.

"I know but we have to make due with what we have, otherwise we won't be able to take care of the baby once it hatches, so it's best that we stay here where we can find multiple places to hide the egg." The male said.

Those two were the top predators of this island even if they weren't originally from here, they were none other than the fearsome and powerful Tyrannosaurus. One of the mightiest creatures to ever walk the earthly plain.

The male was named 'Spencer' he and his mate have been here for about a month now and they haven't encountered any problems, but there is still a looming threat that hangs at the back of their minds and they know it's only a matter of time until he shows up to challenge them again, wherever that thing may be.

Rose was unsure of her mate's decision to live here, if it were her choice then she'd have them live in a cave somewhere else other than here. There is a cave on this island but they haven't explored it yet and are not sure if it's suitable for their unborn child.

The female theropod sighed.

"We haven't even picked out a name for them yet." Rose spoke in a sad tone, it was almost like she knew what was coming.

"We will, after all of this is over we'll be able to list down a ton of names for the baby, I already have been doing that ever since we left our home." Spencer chuckled.

"All of them are boy names aren't they?" Rose asked.

"No...........okay, maybe." Spencer answered.

"Sometimes I wonder how you can be so optimistic in a time like this. we're on the run, our whole clutch was destroyed apart from one egg, and there's a chance we could die at any second. Aren't you at least a bit nervous?" Rose questioned.

"I've already given up on fear, at this point there's nothing that can make me feel it. It's why I haven't given up on us, on our family, or at least what will become our family if the egg ever hatches." Spencer explained.

She's always loved him for this exact reason, he's so filled with hope and joy to the point where he doesn't even need to try that hard to cheer her up from a traumatic event.

Rose feared for the egg, if that monster gets a hold of it then what was the point of coming all the way here? It would've been all for nothing if that egg was destroyed just like the others.

But there was one question lingering in her mind, what if the baby grows up without them? What if they die tonight or maybe tomorrow? Nobody will be left to raise their child and it's not like it can teach itself how to survive. That's just not possible.

"How about Apollo?" Spencer broke the silence.

"I'm not sure about that one, besides what if it's a girl?" Rose queried.

"Then you name her, all I want is a little boy." Spencer said rolling his eyes.

"You just want a boy because you want to name him Spencer Jr don't you? Don't try to convince me otherwise." Rose giggled.

"You know me too well, my light." Spencer then moved his head close to his mate's and began to nuzzle her, this was a dinosaur's way of showing affection towards their loved ones, at least the bigger dinosaurs anyways.

Rose always loved feeling the warmth of her love, he was the only one who's been keeping her sane ever since the incident that led to several of their eggs being broken, they're lucky to even have one of them still intact.

Spencer was a very hopeful Tyrannosaurus, unlike a lot of his kind he wasn't focused on gaining territory or winning fights, all he really wanted was a family of his own and to be at peace and he could feel that he was just a few more days away before he finally gets his wish.

Perhaps his child could even play with his friend's children someday, he knows that they have three eggs in their nest and it's likely they're going to hatch some time this month so if the baby survives then they'll introduce it to their neighbors. The Pteranodons are the only ones they trust on this island anyways.

"When will we be free? We've been doing this for months and nothing has changed, he's going to find us I can already feel it." Rose shivered.

"He won't, and if he does I'll make sure that it'll be the last time he ever sets his eyes on us." Spencer comforted his mate.

The two of them looked towards the moon, it was shining brightly tonight. Without it the world would be plunged into darkness whenever nightfall would come, which is why Spencer and Rose have always been thankful whenever they saw it, it was almost like a light of hope in the darkness they've been facing.

"We should go back, I know you want to keep scouting but I want to make sure that the egg wasn't eaten by some rodent, you know what those little mammals like to do to baby dinosaurs." Rose suggested.

"I agree, even if we kept it secure and safely hidden, those mammals have a sense of smell that rivals raptors. There's no way I'm letting them have a go at our future son." Spencer said proudly.

"You mean daughter?" Rose smirked.

"If it's a boy then you'll be hunting for us for five months straight." Spencer laughed.

"Excuse me? You think that's easy? And if it's a girl then try to catch a shark, they never come near the beach unless they're desperate which means you'll have to get into the water with them." Rose proposed.

"Okay, that's just brutal." Spencer thought that was torture, he doesn't even like swimming and she wants him to go out into the open sea and catch a shark?

He always liked that his mate didn't mind being playful with him. In fact he loved her because of that, she was always there to lighten up the mood and he was always there to laugh at her jokes even if they weren't that good, he just wanted to show his appreciation for her.

The pair began to walk back to their nest, it was heavily covered in leaves and foliage to hide the fact that there was an egg hidden under it, Spencer was actually considering getting some poisonous plants to add to it just in case a predator comes by but that could also endanger the baby if they're not careful.

Then Spencer felt something, he saw multiple flashes but he couldn't make out what they were, all he could hear was the screech of a Pteranodon and the thunderous roar of a Tyrannosaurus and he could see two silhouettes locked in a fight.

Was this some sort of vision? His eyes started pulsing from yellow to orange once those flashes started appearing but then his eyes reverted back to their original emerald green as soon as the flashes were gone.

"Spencer? Is something wrong?" Rose asked in a confused tone.

"I-i don't know, I saw some flashes. I can't explain them." Her mate stuttered.

"Your eyes, they started glowing orange just now. They never do that." Rose said.

"They did? Maybe it's just the stress we've been under, yeah. That's probably it." Spencer convinced himself that it was nothing, maybe the stress of trying to keep the egg safe was getting to him.

RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE

A few small rocks fell near Rose, this was odd because that just came out for nowhere. Is there another apex predator on this island? No, there can't be, they've been to this place multiple times before they started to live here. If there were any mega theropods in this place it would probably be them.

"It was probably just nothing, I've seen that rocks sometimes fall on their own for no reason, we should be fine." Rose spoke.

To them those were just small pebbles, if they did hit then they probably wouldn't have done that much damage to her, so they should be safe.

Oh, how wrong she was.

The two Tyrannosaurus begin to hear even more rumbling from the top until they lifted up their heads and saw what was causing the noises and their mouths gaped open.

It was a boulder, a giant one and it looked like it was being powered by something since it had purple electricity running through it, and it was about to fall on top of the male Tyrannosaurus.

Without hesitation, Rose pushes her mate away as he fell to the ground. She would rather die than watch Spencer suffer.

"Take care of our ch-" she couldn't finish her last words, before the boulder had taken her.

Spencer coughed and shook his head, he stood up and groaned as he looked at the boulder that had fallen onto his mate, he was trembling in sadness and rushed to the pile of rocks that used to be the boulder.

He tried to push it back using his head but nothing worked. At this rate he might break his own skull trying to lift all of the rocks.

"Rose? ROSE!" Spencer yelled as his stripes began to turn from blue to yellow as his mouth began to glow as well.

He shot a ball of fire at the pile of rocks and once the smoke cleared he would move closer, he then walked over to where he thought his mate was and he relieved to see a part of her tail was visible.

Spencer filled with joy, he started to look for where her head could be and when he had located it, he pulled away the remaining rocks using his mouth and he threw them away as he saw the head of his mate.

Crushed, and her bones were half exposed, her beautiful eyes that shimmered in the moonlight were now devoid of any life they once held.

"No! No! Rose! Please, you can't leave us. You can't leave our child!" Spencer sobbed as he moved his head close to his mate.

Even though he says that he has gotten over fear, he underestimated how much fear was still left within him. He had hope that maybe she was still alive but that was nothing more than false hope, because there was no coming back from that.

Tears rained down on the fallen Tyrannosaurus, the soon to be mother of his child was gone. How would he explain this to the baby once they grew older? That their father was so slow to act that it cost the baby the chance to know their mother?

"Please, I can't live without you. You're my light, you and our egg are the only reason I kept going. Just breathe, roar, say something!" Spencer cried out in anguish, but there was no response.

Who can be this cruel? Just a moment ago he was having the time of his life with her, they were just laughing a moment ago but now Spencer's laughs turned into roars of sorrow.

But he already knew who had done this, why wouldn't he? It should've been obvious the moment he saw those purple bolts.

The sound of flapping wings was heard from behind the male Tyrannosaurus, he knows who he has to face but he's not sure if he can build up the strength to kill him.

Spencer took one last look at his mate, and nuzzled her left cheek as one last tear escaped his right eye, he then turned his attention to the one thing that's been after him for months, the creature that destroyed their clutch, and now the monster that took his mate from him.

"Valkyrie......" Spencer whispered in anger.

Indeed, it was the Wings Of Terror himself, a Pteranodon who was unlike the rest. A beast that knew no mercy and thus showed no mercy.

"You should thank me, now you have nobody left to die for you. Your attachment to that female was only temporary anyways, she was going to die sooner or later. You just couldn't admit it." Valkyrie grinned.

"Y-you cold-hearted......... you took her from me!" Spencer couldn't even form a proper sentence because of all the rage that he was feeling, this monster has done enough and it was about time he met his match.

"And? Like I said your attachment was temporary, she was going to be extinguished from your life eventually, I just sped up the process. You're welcome." Valkyrie laughed manically.

Spencer could feel his throat burning, and knew exactly why. He intended to not only kill Valkyrie but torture him, and burn him down to the bone if it means avenging Rose.

A Flamethrower came rushing out of his mouth but the dark Pteranodon flew upwards in order to avoid it, he's dealt with Spencer before but never an enraged Spencer, this should be interesting.

"Come down here and burn!" Spencer demanded as he shot another Flamethrower at Valkyrie but it missed again.

"Such potential, if only you were as competent as you make yourself seem." Valkyrie smiled sadistically as he rushed towards Spencer.

Spencer rammed his head against Valkyrie sending him flying towards a tree but the winged assassin moved out of the way as he almost crashed into the tree.

His eyes were burning with anger and rage, he couldn't explain but he felt like he was going to explode considering all the anger he was feeling inside. The Pteranodon lunged forward again but this time Spencer just stood there and closed his eyes.

"You don't want to move? Fine then, makes my job much easier." Valkyrie said.

Spencer then moved his left leg forward and spun his body around in a fast motion, which scored him a hit on Valkyrie and it sent him plummeting to the ground as the Pteranodon had realized that Spencer did that on purpose, he wanted to look vulnerable in order to use his tail against Valkyrie.

The Pteranodon angrily stood up again, he was not intending on dragging this fight out so it's best that he ends it here before this Tyrannosaurus has the chance to get the upper hand against him.

Valkyrie jumped into the air and spread his wings and the wings began to glow a sinister purple and Valkyrie had a grin on his face as Spencer was about to charge his Flamethrower.

Spencer then shot the beam of heat at the monster that killed his mate only for it to not hit it's target, Valkyrie flew under the beam as he skid across the air and he used Sky Sprint in order to boost himself.

"That attachment of yours was indeed temporary, and so is your life." Valkyrie grimaced as he plunged his right wing into Spencer's chest just as it began to glow bright.

A large wing made out of dark energy was jabbed straight into the chest of the Tyrannosaurus and went through his back, Spencer's eyes were flashing from yellow to green as he tried to build up more power but he was losing blood fast.

Valkyrie had never been this satisfied in such a long time, this Tyrannosaurus and his mate have been causing him nothing but problems since they first met because they always got away from him. But they're not getting away now.

Spencer roared in pain, he tried to cling on to whatever life he still had but his vision began to blur as his body couldn't handle it anymore, but right as he was about to close his eyes. He heard something peculiar.

A bird screech.

A very high pitched bird screech, and he knew it came from a bird because Valkyrie's mouth was closed and as he heard the screech he could see some kind of vision, that had Valkyrie near a massive tree as a Tyrannosaurus that looked like Spencer was charging straight towards him with the tyrant lizard roaring.

Valkyrie then removed his wing from Spencer's chest as he fell onto the earth, a massive crash was heard once the Tyrannosaur had fallen but all Valkyrie did was smile as his Shatter Wing was deactivated.

"Fool, you actually thought you stood a chance against me? Don't make me laugh, I was just toying with you the whole time. Imagine what I could've done if I wasn't holding back." Valkyrie taunted as he flew into the sky.

Spencer laid on the ground, with his blood oozing from out of his wound, he only had a few more seconds left to live but even then in his head, he knew his death will not have been for nothing.

As the last glimmer of light from Spencer's eyes began to leave, he was still able to spit out one last sentence right before death had finally taken him.

"Buddy, huh? So that's what his name will be....." Spencer smiled as his body went numb.

Spencer was now dead, his physical body was beyond repair. But his spirit passed on and right before he died he got a chance at seeing what will supposedly happen in the future. Not only will Valkyrie fight another Tyrannosaurus that looks a lot like him, but that Tyrannosaurus was none other than.......

His son?

PRESENT DAY

It's been a day since the failed attempt at killing Terry, and Phoenix has been replaying that event in his mind multiple times to figure out how he could have won had Valkyrie not intervened.

Maybe he could have find a way to tire out the Tyrannosaurus, that way he would eventually lose his focus and it'll be easier for him to kill Terry with no problem although there is the issue of him also tiring out along with the Tyrannosaurus so it definitely wouldn't be an easy task.

While thinking about his next move, he flew over Alpha's territory and was about to ask him about something. Where was Valkyrie? He hasn't seen him since yesterday and that's odd since he usually stays on Nublar for a few days before he goes out to kill somebody, there's something off and Phoenix knows it.

He landed straight down next to Alpha who was staying silent for some reason. Whenever Alpha was silent Valkyrie and Phoenix would question it considering that this dinosaur has a short temper and is usually not this calm.

"I need to ask you about something." Phoenix started.

"And that something is?" Alpha asked

"Where has Valkyrie been? Haven't seen the guy anywhere." Phoenix answered.

"It's possible he's gone off to relieve some stress, not sure where he went because he never tells me where he goes off to unless I order him." Alpha remarked.

Phoenix felt uneasy, talking to Alpha like this was unusual for him since he would usually sound threatening or intimidating but right now he's as calm as he's ever been? What's up with that?

Alpha looked at the sky, he wondered why Valkyrie hasn't returned yet especially because he always comes back to this island a day after he's left it unless he's on a mission to kill somebody. He was tempted to instruct Phoenix to find him but he knows that Valkyrie will just come back here eventually.

Unfortunately for Alpha, Valkyrie doesn't even want to step foot on that island anymore. The more he stays on Nublar, the more he feels disconnected from his daughter and he doesn't want her to grow up without him, even if she does hate him to some extent.

"I have a job for you, if you don't mind." Alpha said in a calm but menacing voice.

"What is it? Go on tell me." Phoenix was eager to hear his master's plan.

"Remember those kids? Hunt them down instead of Terry, especially
