-Naomi-
Geez Louis, since we got here, all I could think about was going home. We've already gone up against two new digimon that apparently had black gears: Meramon and Andromon. Neither of us know, or have a clue to what they are, but all we can say is that they're always bad news.
After freeing Andromon from the black gear, he was able to help us leave the factory. He said the quickest way out was through the sewers. Yikes. We left the factory and thanked Andromon for his help. As we walked along the smelly sewers, we all found a way to entertain ourselves. We began to sing.
"Digimon eat, and digimon fight. Digimon digivolve and fight all night."
"Singing sure is fun!" Said Palmon. I couldn't agree more.
"Now let's try some solo performances," said Agumon,"starting with Mimi!" He called out.
All of us kids raised a brow with a chuckle. "Mimi?/Singing?/Mercy..."
Regardless, she tried singing. And I say 'try' in a polite manner. "Oh, give me a home where the buffalo rOOoAaaM!"
"Avoiding your drone." Muttered Joe.
"Hey, come on! I had singing lessons for three years."
"Oh, you did? Did it help?" Roasted T.K.
Oof! I was mentally screaming at his burn to Mimi. I had to hold back my laughter. Damn, this kid's a savage!
"Try not forcing your voice, honey. That's what I think." I advised.
"How about we sing as a group?"
"Yeah!"
We sang once again, but were cut off by Sora's scream. Her body tensed for a moment and shivered in place.
"Sora, you okay?" I asked.
"Some water fell from up there." She replied as another drop of water fell from above; on her shirt.
"That made you scream?" Izzy questioned.
"Yeah-..well, no." Sora sadly sighed. "I used to sing at home. I used to sing to myself all the time when I would do my chores. Especially, when I'd hang clothes to dry outside I would sing really loud because, no one could hear me then."
"It's okay to miss your home Sora." Agumon said sympathetically. "What do you miss Tai?" He continued along. I guess he didn't want Sora to feel alone in this topic.
Tai thought for a moment and said an obvious answer, "I miss playing sports then taking a nice, hot bath."
"Games," T.K. spoke, crouching down,"my games. I wasn't far from beating Matt on my video games." He said, imagining a game controller in his hands.
"Beating me, T.K.?" Matt smirked, playfully. "Yeah, I don't think so. Maybe in your dreams, kiddo!" He laughed in a cocky tone. Even though, I knew he didn't mean anything rude by it.
"So, you don't miss anything from home, Matt?" Agumon asked again.
"Well, now that you mentioned it. I've been dreaming about Sunday: when mom grilled us steaks! Mm,makes my mouth water!"
Joe answered, pushing up his glasses,"I miss doing my homework. If I fall too far behind, I might have to go to a junior college." This boy needs to sort out his priorities.
"I don't miss school," Mimi spoke next,"but I do miss going on vacation! Nothing beats having a cool drink on a summer day at the beach! I just love the ocean the ocean air!"
"Get a grip!" Izzy interjected. "I miss accessing satellites to look at the stars and planets."
"What about you, Naomi?"
"Huh? Um, well, I miss doing things similar to all of you. However, I do miss doing arts and crafts, dancing krump and hip hop with the my team, cooking for my family, and most of all, spending time with my sister, Emily-Ruby...."
I hadn't realized I was crying until I saw my tears fall to the floor. Everyone just stare in pity and question why. I'm not the only one who's missing home that much. I quickly wiped my tears away and brushed it off.
"But, I don't need to worry that much, I sure we'll all get home in one-"
Suddenly, we hear something echo through the darkness. The echo gets louder and slowly, an unbearable smell creeps up to our noses. What could it be?
"Numemon.." Gabumon uttered.
"Numemon?"
"They're really disgusting digimon who live down here in the sewers." Gowamon illuminated.
"That's gross!"
"And so are they."
"Are they really strong?!" T.K. minorly panicked.
"No, they're weak, but smelly. Just wait til they get closer." Agumon replied waryingly.
We glared into the dark tunnels and the digimons' sounds became from near distance.
"There's so many of them!" I gasped.
"Hurry, run!!" Agumon shouted.
We booked it, running as fast as we could from them. It was almost terrifying! But I failed to see why we had to run. My answer was given rather quickly when the Numemon began to throw this pink crap, called numsludge. It was disgusting! This gave us more motivation to run faster.
Thankfully, T.K. found an exit and we all went through it. We caught a glimpse of the light as we were able to leave the underground sewer. The moment the Numemon felt the sun, they coward back into the dark. I guess that's their weakness, like all introverts.
After all that, we just continued walking. And walking. And walking, and more walking. We were getting exhausted at this point, until, we found a small piece of land with vending machines.
"There must be thousands of them!" Exclaimed Mimi.
"I say under a hundred." Guessed Joe.
"Or, maybe just fifty." Izzy corrected.
All I'm wondering is, how did they get there? Are there even any snacks in the machines? This world really likes to play games.
"I bet there's enough snacks to last us a lifetime, at least." Mimi assumed.
"Mimi, they probably don't even work," Tai reminded. "Don't you remember the phone booths?"
"Hey, that could be! I bet it's a trick Mimi." Palmon reasons with her partner.
Clearly, Mimi being stubborn, she denied it and went for the first one she saw. Palmon went for her as the rest of us just stood around, waiting for them to come back. Instead, they came with the Numemon chasing after them! The chase was on again and we had to resort to splitting up. I went on my own.
I ran for the woods and Numemon kept chasing me. And me being a klutzy nutcase, I trip over a dumb rock. I thought I was done for until I felt a warn breeze. It was somewhat like fire. I opened my shut eyes and saw the Numemon run away.
"Where did that fire come from?" I asked myself. "Agumon?"
"Of course you'd think it's one of yer friends, but yer wrong."
Suddenly, a short, purple digimon came out of nowhere. He had a red bandana around his neck and red gloves to match. You could also see a sharp tooth, smiley face on his stomach.
"Who are you?" I asked the digimon.
"The name's Impmon!" He said rather proudly, "pleasure ta meet ya, toots!"
"I'm Naomi, pleasure to meet you too."
"So, what exactly is a kid, like yourself, doin' in the Digiworld without a partner, eh?"
"I...don't have a partner." I sighed.
"I figured you didn't. Ever since you fell into that there river, I wondered why ya didn't have anybody to save ya."
"Hold on. You saw me fall into the river? Were you the one who save me?!"
"Yep, that was me-"
I immediately hugged the digimon. I was so grateful for what he did for me. "Thank you, so much!"
"Hey!" He grunted. "Knock it off, kid! Yer suffocatin' me!"
"Oh, sorry!" I released him.
"Yeah," he breathes,"don't mention it. Besides, I had my eye on ya for a while, ya know. "
"You have?"
"Well, kinda..."
Impmon then told me the story of his past. How he was waiting for something to happen or waiting for someone to appear. He also mentions about his recurring dreams about his past memories. Mainly, they were about an old friend he had back then. It was funny because, I've been going through something familiar.
I was having dreams about my imaginary, childhood friend. And they've kept repeating since the day I got here. It didn't take long to realize that Impmon acted very strongly like my imaginary friend, and he said the same about me. Could this digimon be my partner? We had so much in common for the past few minutes.
Before I could ask him about it, I heard my friends in the distance. Impmon heard them too and said,"Do me a favor and don't tell them about me. I'll see ya around, toots!" And ran off.
I had just processed everything and as I realized what happened, I immediately shout,"Impmon, wait!" But he was already gone.
"Naomi, there you are!" Tai exclaimed in relief.
"Guys?" I turned to them. They looked horrible but had a happy aura around them. "Yikes, what happened?!"
Everyone told me the crazy adventure they just had. How this digimon, Monzaemon, took control of them and made them play things for the toys in Toytown. Thankfully, Mimi and Palmon save the day and got the gear that was infecting Monzaemon. Gee, I wish I was there to see it.
We all went back to finding the way home and I was still thinking about Impmon. I hope I get to see him again...
