Just as soon as we were about to go to sleep,the phone rang. "Jason answer it." I kicked him. "Ok." He said. He answered thephone. "Babe, its Nikki. She had a setback and her lungs are filling withfluid. The doctors are taking her to the OR and will fix her. Don't worry. Dr.Campbell has our baby. She will take good care of her." Jason said. "Let's gobe with our daughter." I said as I pulled on some clothes. "Babe it's 2:33 inthe morning. Dr. Campbell will call us when she is out of the OR." Jason said."No. Our little girl is in the OR. And her parents are not right by her side.You come or go I don't care but I am going to see our daughter." "Just give mefive minutes to throw clothes on. I'll drive." He said. "Thank you." I said. Henodded. My blood is pumping. I can't lose her. *Jason's POV. Izzie and I wereabout to fall asleep after a few hour sex marathon when the phone rang. She waspretty much asleep in my arms. Lynda told me that Nikki was on her way intosurgery. Izzie of course panicked and then we found ourselves at the hospital.Izzie was pacing like a tiger trapped in the cage. I spotted the chairs in thewaiting room and wanted to sit on them and fall asleep. But I knew I couldn'tsleep as long as Izzie was pacing. She wouldn't settle down until she knewNikki was ok. *Izzie's POV. It's about 3:06 in the morning. Ever since thephone call, I haven't been able to sit still. The car ride was bad enough.Finally my body gave in and then sat down by Jason. *Jason's POV. Izzie finallysat down. Her head rested against the wall and she slowly started to drift intoa sleep. Dr. Campbell came in at 3:45 am. "Do I need to wake up Iz?" I asked."Nikki is back in the NICU. Her lungs are empty again. You guys can see herlater this morning. She is going to be sedated until at least the afternoon.She is doing well." Dr. Campbell said. "Thank you." I said. She nodded andshook my hand. When Dr. Campbell left, I then tried to wake Iz. I kissed herlips softly. She stirred a little bit and kissed me back. "Jason. Is everythingok?" She asked. "Nikki is out of surgery. She is going to be sedated until theafternoon. Let's go home." I said as I took her hand. We finally arrived at4:25. Iz and I finally were asleep. But then my alarm went off an hour later. Iquickly turned it off and got up. Izzie needs her sleep. I could use some sleepbut she needs it. I arrived at the office about forty five minutes later.Anabel was in at 6:30. "Hi boss. Did Izzie keep you up all night? You lookexhausted." She asked. "We had a rough night. Nikki ended up in surgery lastnight." I said. "Is she ok? Why don't you take the morning off and come inlater this afternoon. I can cover for you." she said. "It's ok. I want to behere. Besides that would stress Iz out. She is not used to me being home in thedaytime. I do want to go in later when Nikki gets home." I said. Anabel nodded.*Izzie's POV. I woke up around nine am. I got up and showered and then madecoffee. I did my hair and makeup then headed to the hospital. "Good morningIzzie. I wasn't expecting to see you this morning." Jess said. "I can't be awayfrom her. She needs me." I said. "Go ahead and see her." Jess said. "Thankyou." I said.
