Mai watched Tenya Iida, the blue haired boy was sitting on a bench waiting for his train.
Unlike normally he made no to effort to calm his fellow students.
He appeared to be consumed in his own world.
Mai made her way over to him and leaned against the wall beside his bench.
"So what are you going to do?"
She asked eyes trained on the other students who were joking and messing around with each other.

"Rika!"
He exclaimed looking up at her in shock, proving that he wasn't paying attention to anything other than his thoughts.
"I'm um- I'm interning with-"

"No, what are you going to do if you catch up to Stain?"
She clarified.

The boy straightened significantly, the Change in his posture indicated his shock.
"I-I'm not sure what you're suggesting."
He stuttered trying to come up with something to say that wasn't suspicious.
His breathing and heart rate elevated, Mai could smell sweat began to soak his hairline.

"Don't do anything stupid out there, you're smart. Don't get into a situation you can't get out of."
She advised the nervous boy.
He looked away knowing she'd figured him out.
"I understand how you feel, though I don't have any older siblings I once had a friend I veiwed as a brother."

He turned to look at Mai, showing he was listening to her story.
"He was killed four years ago, I watched it happen, I know first hand that revenge isn't fulfilling in any way.
You'll be left feeling worse then before."
She stated, saying something she never thought she would.

"I'm sorry."
Iida said looking at the ground.

"About what?"
Mai asked raising an eyebrow and finally looking at him.

"Your Br- freind."
He said deciding not to use the word brother

"Did you kill him?"
She questioned looking forward.

"N-no-"

"Then there is no need to apologize."
Mai ended the conversation and walked to Midoriya.
Deciding she did what she could, the rest was up to Iida.

Him and Uraraka were sitting there talking so Mai didn't bother adding to the conversation.
Mainly because she was slightly confused.
'Should I mention last night?'
She thought.
After falling asleep on the ground and waking up on her bed Mai wasn't sure if she should bring up the situation or not.

The very idea of anyone being around her while she was so vulnerable made her uneasy.
Plus she's convinced she talks in her sleep.

"Hey Mai!"

She turned and saw a sharp toothed smile belonging to none other than Ejiro Kirishima.

"Hello Kirishima."
She replied.

"Where are you interning at? I'm staying with the pro hero Fourth Kind!"
He said hands on his hips, Mai didn't know who the fuck the hero was but she was sure he was a very manly hero.

"Best Jeanest."
She simply stated the name of the hero she was personally interning with.

Kirishima smiled and gave a thumbs up.
"Really! It's so cool you're interning with such a top ranking hero!"

"I suppose so."

"Oh yeah!"
Midoriya cut in leaving Uraraka after the end of their conversation.
"How did your internship work? I mean how did pro's find you?"

"Well I've met Best jeanest before and he offered a recommendation."
Mai explained, leaving out the details of her past interactions with the pro hero.

"Really! You know him?! that's so cool!!!"
Midoriya fanboyed.
"How did you meet?!"

"Long story."
Mai said looking meaningfully at Midoriya, silently asking him to shut the fuck up.
He opened and closed his mouth in confusion but remembered what she said to him yesterday.
"The heroes got me out of that and I'm grateful for it."

"Okay!"
He responded quickly and turned back to Uraraka.
"What she said yesterday wasn't clear but then again I suppose it wasn't supposed to be, but from the little bit she's told me I know she probably has met at least a few pro Heroes! Which is pretty amazing especially as a up coming hero it is nice to know other pro heros personally-"

"Deku! You're mumbling again!"
Uraraka said trying to make out what he was saying.
"Oh! Sorry... Did you hear any of it?!"
He asked the thought of him accidentally spilling the private information Mai only told him yesterday made him anxious.

"No I could barely hear what you were saying, just stuff about pro heros like normal!"
She answered honestly with a close eyed smile.

"G-good- I mean you're right!!"
He said his worry fading.

She tilted her head confused.
"Are you all right?"

"Yes! Oh my trains here... I guess this is goodbye!"
He yelled, waving and running away.

.......................

Mai walked into best Jeanest's agency to see something completely unexpected.
She snorted at the sight of the pro hero forcibly combing down Bakugou's spiked hair.

"Who-"
Bakugou started to ask before seeing Mai.

"If you didn't move so much-"
Jeanest started to complain.

"WHAT THE HELL IS SHE DOING HERE?!?!"
He yelled trying to turn and look back at Jeanest in fury.

"Hello Rika, welcome to my agency. One of my side kicks will take your bags to your room."
Jeanest greeted grabbing Bakugou's head and forcing it forward.
"DON'T IGNORE ME!!!!"
The struggling boy screamed.

"Okay, thanks."

Mai said as a sidekick took her bags from her.
"What are you doing to Bakugou's head?"
She asked pointing at the head Jeanest was holding firmly.

"His appearance is not acceptable for a pro hero."
Jeanest explained as though this situation was completely normal

Mai nodded.
"Understandable, but I don't think there is much you can do about his face."
She joked smirking as Bakugou's face turned red from screaming so much.
"SHUT THE HELL UP!!! WHY IS THIS EXTRA HERE?!?!"

"Or his personality for that Matter."
Mai continued to observe.

"Rika! Bakugou! Please refrain from insulting each other or anyone else."
Jeanest commanded his children.

"Sir yes sir."
Mai said giving him a salute.

"DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!"

"Rika, I'll need you to change."
Jeanest said looking up from Bakugou's hair.

"Into what?"
She questioned.

"Your hero costume, and then one of my side kicks will bring you a pair of jeans."

"Jeans?"

"Yes, other than that... I suppose your hair is fine."

"Okay."
Mai turned following a side kick to her room.

She was handed a pair of jeans once she arrived that fit surprisingly well.

She put on the top of her new hero costume with the jeans provided.

her costume looked a bit odd with the jeans but it doesn't really matter to her.
She walked down stairs and met with jeanest and Bakugou again.
"Ready."
She stated plainly drawing their attention.

"Alright, we are going to patrol the city until seven, since it's your first day we won't do any training."
Jeanest stated turning to the door beckoning the two teenagers follow him.
Mai crossed her arms and followed without hesitation, while Bakugou grumbled and shoved past her.

"Move it."
He comanded trying to show he was the superior.
Mai rolled her eyes at his immaturity and walked a few steps behind him.
Mai knew that where someone walked didn't matter, and deep down Bakugou did too.
But he pretended that walking in front of her showed his superior strength, and she played along.

Best Jeanest began telling them that the reason behind this patrol was not only to threaten villains but to put peoples mind at ease and remind them that the heroes are there to protect them.

"Just take it! Hurry up before pro's show up!!"
A quiet conversation in a nearby alleyway caught Mai's attention.
"I'm trying! His quirk is still working, he won't let go!"

Mai focused her senses on the voices and the people they were coming from.
She could hear someone struggling to pull at something.
She could smell blood.

"Jeanest!"
She called interrupting his lecture.

"Yes?"
He asked turning.

"Something is happening, in that alley.

I can hear a struggle."
She calmly informed him tilting her head.
He nodded and ran to the alley she was pointing to.
His interns followed suit.

"Halt."
They heard jeanest say sternly.
They turned into the alley and saw two thugs standing over a injured man.

In his rock covered hand was a suitcase.
Though unconscious his quirk remained activated, keeping the criminals from retrieving their loot.

Mai bent down beside the man.
She didn't have her license so she couldn't do much fighting, and she knew that Jeanest could easily take them down.
Mai grabbed his jacket that was laying on the ground and ripped it.

She moved his broken leg so it was in place and grabbed a small broken pipe.
She quickly made a splint and the started to wrap cloth around his deep cuts to stop the bleeding.

Unfortunately Bakugou happened to have less faith in Jeanest's abilities.
"DIE!!"
He yelled blasting himself at the Villains.

Mai jumped up and tackled him, taking the brunt of his offensive explosion.
"WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU DO THAT?!?!"
He screamed throwing her off of him.
Mai stood up.
Her arm had several burns and her shoulder had a few cuts and scrapes from hitting the concrete underneath her.

"She was stopping you from making a mistake."
Jeanest interrupted using his quirk to bind Bakugou.
The thugs behind him were unconscious and tied up against the wall.

"I WAS-"

"You were going to use your quirk to try and fight these men, even though I had it taken care of.
Even though I didn't give you permission to attack."
The pro hero began to scold.
"Now because of your ego and immaturity we have two people who need medical attention instead of only one, your quirk has caused more problems then it has solved! A proper hero can tell if he is needed or not!"
Jeanest said raising his voice.
He walked to Mai.
"What are your injuries?"
He questioned.

"A few scrapes and burns, nothing serious."
She said looking at her arms and then back at the pro hero.

"Are you sure?"

"Of course I am."

Jeanest nodded and turned.
"Bakugou, take her back to the agency. I have a medic that will tend to her wounds.
Meanwhile I'll deal with the thugs and this man."
He ordered.

"Whatever."
Bakugou grumbled before turning and walking away.

"Mai."
The girl turned to the pro hero.

"Good job, I was about to turn to a different street. If you hadn't alerted me these villains could have gotten away without punishment."

Mai nodded at the man and jogged after Bakugou.

"Hurry up."
Bakugou grumbled grabbing her wrist.
Mai didn't say anything, just yanked her arm away from his grip and followed.
