Chapter 4

27th December was one of the most highly irritating and hated day that the couple spent.

Not only they had to be with the man who had arrested them, but again they were both on road on the way to Delhi.

Mostly, they were in the car, while Avipsha, their lawyer, spent every now and then of her moment in calling up Inspector Sharma, who was no doubt co-operating. 'AS MUCH AS HE COULD!'

This was not so surprisingly, just attending her calls to say that before the trial done, there was nothing to be done.

"Sanyukta, wake up. Tea time." Randhir whispered, waking her up from her nap, as they stood beside a roadside tea-stall, in the chilling winter evening, somewhere in the highway.

"Yea, I wanted to have winter tea in the roadside with you." She said, waking up, rubbing her eyes.

Their butts hurt, so both of them stirred a bit to posture themselves again on the seats.

Long hours in the car, with 'police' did that, with most.

"Stop the sarcasm. Now have this sleepy head. We've to get our bails before 31st." He passed her a warm cup of tea.

The inspectors were out the car, chit chatting with the 'chai wala'.

"And why is so?" She frowned.

"Sanyukta, something called holidays are even prevailing in courts."

"Randhir, I'm not that dumb."

"Yes, so don't ask dumb questions."

"Yea, right."

"Have it fast!"

"Avipsha called?"

"Yea she did. A lot of times." He answered fondly.

"You called with her?"

"That Mr. Sharma," He dropped his voice to a whisper, "Just gave me once to talk."

"Kharoos Tanishq Sharma." Sanyukta whispered back.

Their night spent in the roads, as they stopped for dinner once at a Dhaba, and again for sleep for a few hours. One man on duty was always awake to keep an eye on the both suspected 'criminals'. Who themselves were unaware of the crimes they were being accused to have committed!

The 28th December morning, wasn't proved to be much fruitful either, but yes, it did bring out a new sunshine into their current situations.

"Mr. Randhir! Ms. Sanyukta wake up!" Called the man. Yes the same man who'd been the trouble into their nice romantic holiday.

"Yes, Sir!?" Randhir woke up, moving Sanyukta a bit away from his shoulders.

"Wake her up first."

Randhir made an annoyed face.

Firstly, they were worried.

Secondly, they'd been faking sleep, cause there was no other way. In such situations, who the hell could sleep!?

Thirdly, Sanyukta had been blabbering nonsense all while, and finally went to sleep. She'd been taking so much tension since the 48 hours!

They thought of waking her up was unappealing to too. Too much appeasing for his own good.

"Wake her up." The man repeated himself again.

Randhir finally woke her up, as she scowled a bit. Nonetheless, she woke up.

"Yes sir." She spoke.

"So, we are here. And well as of rules, you both should be in jail by now, but we've prepared a room. No-bars room for you for the price Ms. Avipsha has paid us with." He grinned a bit. Grouchy bribe-taker! "So, she is here to meet you."

Both of them, made a face of disgust.

"Avipsha!" Sanyukta hugged the girl, as soon as she saw her.

"Gosh! How did you both land yourselves in this?" Avipsha made a face, hugging her back.

"We have no idea." Randhir rolled his eyes.

"Okay, we've talked with them. Sorry guys, you know this law thing takes time."

"That's okay...but we need it fast." Randhir said.

"All done. How much money did you steal from house anyway Sanyukta?" She giggled.

"Ahh...let me think. Around 35 thousand cash along with credits and debits which had not been yet used."

"And Randhir, why did you kidnap your own girlfriend?"

"For Ransom? Well it's been more than a week we'd went away, and no call went. So simple! I kidnapped her to either marry her, else to drug her and kill her." Randhir shrugged.

"That explains the situation. Don't worry, you'll both get your bails by...30th. At the most. And yes, please, pack up your pockets as they are gonna get drained." Avipsha nodded.

"Why the hell has no one from home contacted!?" Sanyukta barked, in a low voice though.

"I've tried contacting them," She shrugged, "They say the accusations are correct, and they nothing to do with this anymore."

"What the..." Randhir was left flabbergasted and so was Sanyukta.

"Yes. I have no idea. Well, let me see. I'll do whatever I can. And I'm so sorry guys you both have to go through this."

"It's okay, Avipsha, see you on 30th then?" Randhir caught Sanyukta's hand.

"Yes, you'll. Thanks guys. Be as well as you can."

And thus she left.

"I hate them," Sanyukta sobbed with irritation. "I needed them the most, and they accuse me of theft!"

"I kidnapped you. I seriously think I should have." Randhir said, drained.

The situation was too much to take.

They were both on a wooden frame laded with just a few sheets and a rugged quilt to share.

There was a 'matki' of water, to have water from and just that. Nothing else.

"I'll be all good." Both chanted, as they finally fell asleep with each other in the worry of uncertainness!
