:Isaac:
Meeting Lore was both a relief and a taunting feeling. The relief of having found my mate and having her so close to me. And a taunt of knowing that I can't have her just yet since she is a human and I have to work there.
But right now the biggest taunt was her in my bed. 'Well at least she's in our bed being covered with our scent which is a big benefit.' It was. It satisfied the alpha instincts within me that wanted to claim Lore so badly at any moment.
To pin her down and give her the mark that made her mine. A werewolf's mark was special in so many ways. From longing a non-immortals life to binding the mate. A werewolf didn't have a second chance mate so once you lost your mate, they were gone forever.
'The only way to find love again would be to fall in love, although it would never be the same.' It wasn't forbidden for werewolves to mate with humans. After all the wolf chooses who they want and the moon goddess sets things up for a reason. And the fates like to have a sense of humor.
But there was no forbidden relationship for a werewolf, the wolf chose after all. The species didn't matter from humans to even a fae. Although most werewolves mated within the werewolf species, although some strayed to vampires, witches and now the first ever fae with my brother.
'Before Noah there wasn't a single story of a werewolf mating with a fae.' Fae didn't have mates like vampires and werewolves, until Moon of course. Since then a few fae had mated to werewolves, not a long, but a few of them. But a wolf wasn't picky with their mate.
It was just rare for a human to mate with a werewolf due to old age. But the mark changed all of that. A mark bonded the mates to each other in an inseparable bond with only Death himself capable of severing it. But when they both died the bond was reunited again.
It was impossible to destroy, no magik out there could do it. If they aren't true mates the mark can be revoked, but never if they are true mates. If you cut the mark off it simply grows back. 'Which is why marking is such a sacred practice now a days.'
Well it always was, but even more so now. And most alphas ground instinct is to mark instantly to seal the bond. The control I had to exert around Lore killed me at times when all I wanted was her especially with her in my bed now looking innocent as an angel.
And I wanted her so badly, to place a mark on her, and to feel her underneath me. Which was how being around your mate at times could be both heaven and hell is bearing down on you. But I kept it in with a silver lock.
'Control is key and that is something I'll agree with you on, no marking Lore until she knows and is ready. Marking humans is a bit different than marking something else.' And we knew this because of Derik's human mate Lyric and her being marked as well as her side effects.
When Isabella was marked she didn't have any severe side effects besides occasional pains due to her vessel marking being a bit pissed off at the thought of having to share a body. But eventually the pains stopped. It was like a tattoo for her honestly instead of a marking.
Most marks were done the day before and the next day are healed and formed typically. Orchid's took a bit longer, but still healed just as fine. 'Well she was a witch and put some cream on it to help speed up the healing process according to Andrew.' I nodded at that.
Lyric on the other hand. Her mark took over a week to fully heal due to her being human. And she was feverish the entire time which resulted in Derik babying her the entire time. At the end it healed and formed red claw marks for Derik's birth pack.
But it did have side effects. One of them being halting her aging process. Completely. She was marked and she hadn't aged since. 'Of course there family reunions are a bit awkward since you know they ended up being turned into Lycans in a freak accident.' We didn't talk much about that.
But since her marking Lyric didn't age. No doubt a way for her to forever be with Derik. And it would no doubt happen to Lore. But was I ready to do that to her yet? No. I was not ready to mark her, I wanted to, but neither of us were ready.
'They key important thing is getting to know her and things about her before heading into the relationship zone.' At that moment Lore's phone rang reading mom. "Hello this is Isaac, your Lore's mom right?" "Yes, your the one from the hospital correct." "Yes ma'am." Venom smiled at that.
Nothing like appearing as a sweet boy to her mom. "Where is Lore?" "She fell asleep ma'am, she wasn't looking too good, speaking of that I'd like to know if she could spend the night, she's very tired and I feel bad if I have to wake her up." I said with a bit of a smile.
'She is tired and no need to poke that bear for sure.' I nodded at that. "She has medication." "I can pick it up ma'am." "Nonsense, I'll drop it off, just please make sure she takes it, it's for her heart disease and other medical problems."
At that I went still. "Heart disease?" "Yes Lore has a heart disease." It's like my world crashed at that as I looked back at Lore, shocked that she was so fragile. But now it explained so much on why she craved freedom. "Yeah I'll be sure she takes it, my mom will wait for you outside."
With that we said our goodbyes before hanging up. Going over to Lore I moved the blonde from her face before kissing her forehead. 'Heart disease, isn't that deadly?' 'Yes, but I'm sure everything will be fine, no freaking out until we establish the problem.'
Venom was a bit reluctant but thankfully listened to me. Going downstairs I looked for my mom and found her in the kitchen making dinner. "Lore's mom is coming over with her things can you keep an eye out for her?" I asked and my mom nodded at that.
So with that I headed back upstairs to where Lore was laying down in bed curled up with my blankets draped around her which brought a smile to my face. She looked so innocent. 'It's hard to believe that she has a heart disease, I wonder why she never told us that.'
Well it wasn't just something you told someone. "Oh hey I have a heart disease,' It just didn't seem right to me to do that. But now I defiantly had to ask her about this. And I had this feeling building inside me since Lore's mom told me that she had a heart disease on the phone.
Sure I didn't know much about it or how severe it was, but there was this gut feeling. 'I know I can feel it as well and it frightens me a bit.' I had a feeling I was going to have to speed our relationship, for reasons of health.
When Lore's mom came she was a bit nervous, but my mom loosened her up with ease. We got the bags without any hassle as she gave my mom her phone number.
'In case anything happens to call right away, any hour of the night as well.' She was a very caring mom and very protective for sure. She ended up leave with a container full of spaghetti for her and her husband to share, courtesy of my mom.
"Isaac honey want to go wake up Lore, it's dinnertime." My mom said and I nodded at that. "Dad will be home in a few." My mom said. "K, I'll be back." I said going up and looking at Lore as Venus got off my bed and left and I patted her head on the way out.
"Lore, time to wake up it's dinnertime." I said and her eyes opened. "Huh?" Lore asked. "Dinnertime." I said and Lore got up as I gave her a soft smile as she pushed herself up I bed. 'Do you think we have to give her meds right away.'
"Your mom stopped by with clothes and your medication." I said and Lore nodded at that looking at the bag as she flattened her hair down with her hands. With a smile I helped Lore up before leading her down the stairs and into the dining room where my parents were waiting for us to start dinner.
