Knowing that there was a heavy but defeated silence hanging between the two, as soon as lunch time arrived, Shiki announced that she would return shortly with their food and possibly with Leo, leaving Captain with her for company.
It seemed like such a long time since she saw the others since most of the time, she stayed in the infirmary, her room and sometimes the laundry room if she had too much blood stained shirts.
Before she neared the gallery, Shiki stopped and took a deep breath, making sure her body was calm. She didn't want to start hacking up blood in a room full of people.
It seemed too tiring to explain what was going on with her.
One last breath and she walked in. At first, nobody seemed to have noticed until two mechanics gave a pleasant cry of surprise, gaining the attention from the others.
Two sets of weights settled on her shoulders before she could reach the counter where plates of steamed vegetables and bowls of chicken soup awaited to picked up.
"Shiki-chan!"
She turned her head to the right, seeing a grinning Penguin.
"It's been so long! For a moment there, I didn't recognize you!" he jostled her good heartedly. He was genuinely surprised by her appearance, seeing as the woman would hole herself either in the infirmary with her friend or in her room. There was a silent agreement that none of the guys would disturb the recovering woman and her friend when they were together, plus, remembering past encounters, they weren't well liked by the zoan user.
If he really thought about it, this would be the first time he saw her since her party they threw.
On the other side of her shoulder was Shachi, "Yeah!" he agreed before taking a piece of her hair and twirling it around between his fingers, "It looks nice, but why the sudden cut and when did you even get the time?" he questioned.
Penguin also copied, taking a piece of her hair as well, "Did you get dumped?" he joked.
"It's not that of a big deal." Kyle muttered as he walked by them to get in line for his lunch, ignoring the disapproving looks from the mechanics.
Shiki raised a brow, not understanding what they were getting at, "Reika thought I should get it cut since it was uneven and Leo cut it just a while ago." she answered bluntly, unintentionally dampingly their little fun. She then gently pried their hands off, "I'll be eating with Reika again." she said, excusing herself from the bouts of whines behind her.
As she reached the counter, she stood in line to get her share but as she stared at the bowls and plates, she wondered how she would carry them with only one effective arm. While Shiki devised a plan to carry two sets of steaming tableware with just one hand... and maybe her head, a shadow towered over her, stopping her from further planning to look up.
Only to feel her heart picking up, she tightly pressed her lips together as she stared into those beady black eyes that looked happy to see her after a period of absence.
"Shiki-chan, are you joining us for lunch?" the big white polar bear asked with a big smile on his fluffy cute face, looking expectant.
She didn't know what to do.
One one hand, she didn't want to disappoint the fluffy adorable bear.
On the other, she wanted to eat with her friend, but if she were to open her mouth, there would be a risk that Bepo could pick up the scent of blood.
Damn it, she was in a bind.
"Shiki-chan?" Bepo tilted his head when there was no immediate reply from her, "Are you okay?" he asked worriedly.
She flinched while she sucked in her lips, looking just as guilty.
Before she could give into the guilt from worrying this adorable, innocent fluffy white polar bear, Leo stepped in, holding a tray with lunch for three.
"Sorry Bepo, but Shiki is going to have lunch with Reika again." the blonde smiled, saving Shiki the trouble of rejecting the bear.
"Oh. " the bear look down in disappointment, "Maybe next time." he nodded, walking away with his head still bowed down.
Shiki looked like someone just punched her in the gut and felt like she had just committed the biggest crime ever.
Rejecting an adorable polar bear to lunch.

After lunch, Shiki went to look for Law for an update on the island, leaving Captain with her friend and giving Leo the job of keeping her company as soon as he finished his job in the kitchen.
Knocking on his door before entering, Shiki peeked her head from behind the door to see that the pirate captain was standing in front of his bookshelf, a book in his hand.
"Did I give you permission to enter?" Law questioned, snapping his book shut and returning it to its spot on the shelf before turning around.
She stepped into the room, taking a step to the side to lean against the wall, "I just wanted to know if you found an island for Reika yet."
Law grunted, crossing his arms, "We should reach one early tomorrow morning." he stated, walking across the room to stand in front of the woman, his stormy grey eyes narrowed in on her,"I want to give you a medical check."
Staring up at him, she blinked, "Why? I don't have any medical problems." she really didn't, there was nothing wrong with her medical history, no disease whatsoever.
Besides, curses weren't related to medical science.
He narrowed his eyes, "I'm not asking you, Shiki-ya."
She frowned, she would have crossed her arms if she could, "But I don't want to, plus, you said I can do what ever I want for 2 weeks."
In an authoritative tone, Law stared her down, "As your doctor, I never promised such things."
Shiki gave a deadpanned look with blank eyes, "Mean." she uttered before turning her head to the side to sulk. She blamed this on herself, she should have properly sealed off any loopholes in her wish before she asked it.
"Doesn't matter wha-"
"Where are you keeping that memory book?" Shiki asked, casually making conversation.
"Don't try to change the subject-"
She cut him off, trying to divert him from his goal, "But I want to know, I haven't heard about it since you last stole it."
Both Law and Shiki stared each other down, trying to get their way.
Law knew she wasn't going to back down easily and inwardly sighed. If she was going to be this difficult, he would just force it, "Fine." he sighed.
Shiki blinked, raising a questionable brow, "... Okay..." she slowly turned her back to him, heading for the door.
A mistake on her part as she suddenly felt her feet off the ground. Her brows furrowed as she gave a displeasing frown, "Law-"
He had grabbed her waist and threw her over his shoulder, one hand wrapped around her waist, the other around her knees, stopping her from swinging her legs, "I'm just going to take a sample of your blood."
"This-"
"- Is not up for discussion, Shiki-ya." he warned, no room for rebuttal, closing his door as he went out.
She turned her head at him, staring at the back of his white spotted fluffy hat, then turned back to staring at the ground, letting her head hang as comfortable as she could in her position, "... I don't like mean people..."
"Deal with it." he grunted.

"Law says that they found an island with a harbor. We should reach there tomorrow in the early morning and if we're lucky, a merchant ship would still be there." Shiki said, slowly taking a step forward while supporting Reika who held onto her shoulder, taking small steps forward on her shaky legs in the infirmary.
She had immediately come to the infirmary after Law had taken her to the Surgical Room instead of extracting her blood in the infirmary where a zoan user was resting, avoiding any confrontation the bird would throw at him. As soon as he was done, he dismissed Shiki to her own devices.
Reika glared forward at the ground, lifting one foot at a time, "That's nice to hear." she muttered, focusing on her feet.
"When you leave, you should be careful. You have a bounty on your head now." she pointed out.
At the mention of her own bounty, the zoan user lifted her head to stare quizzically at her friend, "Huh?" she made an undignified sound, raising a brow, "Since when?"
Shiki tilted her head in thought, "Almost a week ago. They gave you the title, Blood Hawk Reika with a bounty of 27 million."
A look of dread fell upon the zoan user's face as she lowered her head with a sigh. She didn't want any marines or bounty hunters coming after her, she quite enjoyed roaming the streets and seas freely.
Shiki nudge her with her shoulder, wanting her attention like a little child, "You look really cool in the photo."
Reika let out a sigh, muttering a small thanks, "Come on, I need to move my muscles if I'm planning to leave."

Sorry for the late update, I got lazy XD.
Thank you for those who cared about my well being. It wasn't a big deal, I had to go get my blood tested to see what I was allergic to XD
When I heard this, I was like, "Sigh, Lets get this shit over with." But on the appointed day, in the waiting room, my head finally processed what I was about to do and I was like, "Shit! I'm not ready for this! Needles are scary! I wanna go home!"
Well anyway, hope you enjoyed this!
