Entering the infirmary with a heavy breath and a hand on her chest, Shiki leaned back on the door to close.
Looking up to see a patched up, unconscious, breathing Reika, hooked up to machines, Shiki let out a relieved yet heavy sigh as she dragged over Law's swivel chair over to her friend's side.
Letting out a tired huff, Shiki sat herself down, the stress of everything finally taking its toll on her as she examined the state of her friend's condition, she was all bandaged up from what was visible.
Feeling that uncomfortable burning pain in her chest, Shiki scrunched up her face as she clutched her chest when it gave a squeezing pain to her heart before it conjure up another coughing fit.
Wheezing into her palm where droplets of red liquid was sure to be there, Shiki ignored it, wiping it on her shirt and tiredly looked over to Reika with solemn gold eyes.
"... Reika..." she leaned her her head on the edge of the bed, facing towards her with closed eyes, "... I'm glad that you're alive." she whispered tiredly, letting out a relieved sigh.

After Shiki left him alone in her room, Law stayed there with a blank mind for a while, trying to understand what he was told. And as his mind processed the thought, the dark his face went.
Law retreated to his room after, slamming his door close with such force.
Storming to his bed, he flopped down on the edge, burying his face into his hand while the other laid across his knee. Such news was ridiculous so far in this stage. The woman really is...!
The pirate captain let out a frustrated growl as Shiki's words echoed through his head.
A knock on his door snapped him out of his thoughts, letting out a curt "Come in", Leo popped his head into the room with a grin.
"Hey, Captain." he greeted, "Dinner is being served."
Law stared at him with a thoughtful narrowed stare, causing the blonde to fidget in his spot a bit nervously when he wasn't getting any response.
"C-Captain?" Leo nervously called out with a crooked grin at the angry looking glare he was receiving.
"Leo-ya."
He slightly jumped, straightening from the door as he properly entered the room, "Y-Yes?"
"What have Shiki-ya told you about the mark on her left hip?" he questioned, leaning on his chin on his seeped fingers.
Leo blinked at this, feeling himself breaking out into a light nervous sweat at what he was about to do, "With all due respect, Captain..." he took a breath, while Law was his Captain, Shiki would always have a high status to him and he wasn't going to disclose information about her even if she wouldn't care, "I think it would be best if Shiki told-"
"She told me everything." Law rudely interrupted, his eyes narrowing on the blonde who once worked under Shiki back when they were marines, "I'm questioning what you know about it."
The blonde let that sink in, weighing out his options before deciding to give in, telling Law everything that Shiki had told him.

Once he got out, Leo closed the door behind him, leaning back with a crooked smile, sweat coating his face as he let out a relieved sigh after the interrogation. It seemed that the more he told Law about what Shiki told him, the more irritated the captain got.
Pushing off the door, Leo headed back to the gallery and wondered if he could get someone to send Law his dinner since it seemed the captain was angry at him for some reason.
Plus, he also needed to check up on Shiki since she wasn't at dinner.

Leo knocked on the door before entering the infirmary with little Captain trailing after him, "Shiki, we're having curry. There's very few meat in it." he announced with a bright grin, holding a plate of curry in one hand while the other a spoon.
Shiki continued to lay her head on the edge of the bed, "I don't feel like eating." she mumbled.
Leo frowned just as Captain jumped onto the bed, carefully of the person laying under the covers before climbing on top of Shiki's head, curling his small body and pawing at his human's head.
Before the blonde could get a word, Shiki asked a question.
"Has Captain eaten yet?" she asked quietly, feeling the extra weight on top of her head.
Leo huffed, "Of course, but you haven't and I'm pretty sure Reika-san would worry if you're not eating while she's unconscious, in fact," he walked to a sop beside her, towering over Shiki and Captain, "I'm willingly to bet that Reika-san will get angry." he finished.
A silence was formed in the room before Captain hopped off Shiki's head, seeing that she was getting up.
Her right hand reaching out for the plate.
A victorious grin appeared on the blonde's face as he handed over her food. He then took a seat at the foot of Reika's bed, his amethyst gaze switching over to the unconscious red haired woman, his grin slowly fading away, replaced with a worried expression.
They once again settled into silence, the only sound made was the clinking of the spoon making contact with the plate every time shiki scooped.
"...I told Law about your curse when he asked me..." eyes shadowed as he whispered.
Unfazed, Shiki swallowed the piece she was eating before answering, "That's fine, I don't care if you did." she bluntly answered without lifting her eyes away from the plate on her lap.
He inwardly chuckle with a resigned smile, Shiki never really hid anything.
"By the way, Law told me to tell you not to get soap on your back and to get someone to wash your back for you."

Over the next few days, Shiki remained siting by Reika's side, looking over her, only leaving to refresh herself.
While one of Law's helper would check up on her friend, he would occasionally glance at her with a look to borderline to worry when he noticed the dark circles under her eyes.
Leo had come everyday to deliver her meals and to visit Reika.
Right now, he was combing out her uneven strands of hair while little Captain rested on her lap, staring up at her.
"You need proper sleep, you know that?" Leo casually pointed out, combing the strands of uneven hair in his hand, when it was free of knots, he began braiding it. While they were nothing that their ride was peaceful, two of their residents haven't been resting properly.
Shiki frowned, unconsciously pulling Captain to her stomach, "But Reika still hasn't woken up." she quietly pointed out.
He paused in his ministrations before continuing, "Law said she'll be resting for 2 to 3 weeks so you should go rest." he took out a red ribbon and tied her braid off. There was nothing he could do with the uneven strands sticking out along the trail, "I can watch over Reika-san for the meantime and call you when she wakes."
She frowned for a bit before letting out a reluctant sigh, Shiki stood up unsteadily from sitting too long and Leo helping her, making sure she didn't fall. He was handed Captain before she reluctantly left the room, but not before looking over her peacefully sleeping friend one more time.

Shiki entered her room just as a ringing could be heard from her black tattered cloak that was fixed up. Picking up her coat from the bedside table, she rummaged through her pocket, taking out her ringing baby den den mushi.
Picking up the receiver, she suddenly felt another coughing fit coming on, coughing a worrying amount of blood this time.
As she finished, she almost forgot that she had picked up the receiver when a voice sounded through the wide grinning snail.
"Hiya~ Shiki-dear~" a cheerful voice echoed from the other line.
Shiki blinked at the receiver, wiping the blood on her loose black tank top, just barely missing her grey sweat shorts, "How did you get this number?" she questioned, seeing if she had accidentally gotten blood on her shorts.
The voice chuckled, "Why, Shiki-dear, I have my ways." he giggled, "Anyway, how's Reika-chan? You didn't drop her when you were playing with my adorable pets, did you?" he continued to ramble on, telling her how he thought he should've sent more of his pets when Shiki cut him off.
"Tenma..."
"Yes~" he chimed.
"Thank you." she breathed, closing her eyes.
A silence brewed between them but before she knew it, he hung up, letting the den den snail fall back asleep.
Slowly opening her eyes, she languidly put away her baby den den mushi and stared at her bed, thinking.
While Leo had sent her to go rest, Shiki knew she wouldn't be able to so instead, she left her room and out in the halls where she bumped into someone when she turned a corner.

Looking up while rubbing her nose, tired steel eyes met her golden ones.
Over the few days, Shiki hadn't seen Law since she last talk to him and this would be the first thing she says to him over such a long time.
"You look terrible." she bluntly stated, staring at his own dark bags under his eyes.
Law gave her a tired glare and walked passed her with a grunt "Not as much as you."
She stared over her shoulder to stare at him, blinking tiredly.
After he had checked in to the Control Room, Law was heading back to his chambers when Shiki bumped into him, seeing her after such a while, Law felt irritated at her comment and brushed her off with his own rebuttal, continuing towards his destination when he heard a pair of heels following behind him.
He ignored it and reached his room, swinging his door close without noticing that Shiki had slipped in as well.
He plopped down onto his bed, kicking off his shoes as Shiki stood in front of him, causing him to frown at his careless mind.
"Law, are you angry at me?" she asked quietly, making his eye twitched.
"Very." he grunted deeply, swinging his legs onto bed and laying down in the middle with his hands behind his head.
Shiki didn't say anything regarding to that, instead, she stared at his bags under his eyes, "You're starting to look like a tanuki." she pointed out with a straight face, making his brows furrowed in annoyance, "You should go to sleep, you look very tired and irritable."
"You should listen to your own advice, Shiki-ya." he sarcastically shot back, an irritated frown on his lips.
"I can't."
"Do it." he ordered, closing his eyes in irritation.
Frowning, Shiki took off her heels and laid on his bed, curling her legs to her chest.
"I didn't mean on my bed." he grumbled without opening his eyes.
So Shiki got up.
Thinking that she was going to leave, Law tried to relax his mind in hopes of falling asleep or just to rest his eyes.
Only to snap his eyes open when he felt a weight on his chest.
Instead of leaving the room like a normal person, Shiki had instead curled herself of top of Law's chest.
"Shiki-ya." he warned, narrowing his eyes on hers.
"Hn."
He continued to glare at her but eventually gave up, he was too tired for this.
Trailing his eyes over to her braided hair, finally noticing it, Law lifted it up, bringing it close to examine the neat strands in its confined state before placing it down.
How tired was he if he didn't even notice her hair?
His hand went over to her forehead, playing with her short side fringe that fell just above her left eye.
When he got bored of that, he slide his hand over her head, stoking her hair, unknowingly, lulling Shiki to sleep.
