Dezirae was visiting Deanna in her quarters when she sensed something that could only be described as odd "Lal!?!"  Dezirae whispers with a confused concerned tone Deanna looks at her oddly "she's.... frightened of something.... I don't understand....!"  Dezirae tells her just then the door chimes "well she certainly knows who to go to for such things!"  Dezirae says softly Deanna chuckles then says "come in"  the door opens to reveal a unsettled looking Lal "hello, Lal how are you?"  Deanna asks "Troi.... Admiral.... Admiral.... an Admiral from Starfleet has come to take me away, Troi I am scared"  Lal replies then she feels Dezirae envelop her arms around her and after a few seconds she copies the motion then says "I feel it how is this possible?"  Dezirae whispers softly into her hair "we'll figure this out Lal"  Dezirae looks at Deanna and says "Data needs to know"  Deanna nods as Lal says with a scared tone "this is what it means to feel this is what it means to.... "feel".."  Dezirae looks at her and says as she slides her hand along Lal's cheek lovingly "I know your scared but we will figure this out!.... why don't we head to the lab and run a diagnostic!?"  Lal nods then the two women lead the child out of the room and head towards the lab.... "I'm sorry to bother you Data but your daughter needs you in the lab as soon as you can make it"  Data, Picard and a confused looking "visiting" Admiral hear Dezirae say with a worried tone through the Com Data looks at Picard who nods and Data walks out of the conference room "acknowledged, he's on his way is there a problem!?"  Picard asks "she is scared and needs her father's comfort not some teddy bear!"  Dezirae replies and now it was Picard's turn to look confused.... as soon as Data enters the lab with the Admiral and Picard not too far behind Deanna goes into a full explanation of what she experienced "it lasted barely a moment she experienced fear and confusion and then after Dezirae suggested it we walked here here and through she didn't say another word each step became more and more difficult"  Deanna says "Lal is programmed to return to the lab in the event of a malfunction.... I thank you for suggesting it"  Data replies looking at Dezirae who nods then she says "emotions are not a malfunction no matter where they come from Data!"  Data looks at her and sees the pain in her eyes from his words "I did not mean it like that"  Data replies "I agree with Data"  the Admiral says "of course you would!"  Dezirae mutters "father"  Lal says as though just realizing he was here "yes, Lal I am here"  Data replies "well then.... DATA.... what is wrong with your child!?! besides the fact the Admiral made her feel like she needed counseling!"  Dezirae asks with a harsh sarcastic bite Data tilts his head at her "no offense Deanna"  Dezirae says with a much softer tone the woman beside her who was trying not to laugh replies with a smile "none taken.... mother"  Dezirae rolls her eyes and Deanna once again tries not to laugh "it appears to be a symptom of cascade failure it would require initialization the base matrix without wiping out the higher functions"  Data says "I agree may I assist?"  the Admiral asks Data looks at him and replies "thank you, Admiral"  the Admiral looks at everyone else and says "if you'll excuse us, Commander Data and I have much to do"  the other three walk out of the room Dezirae place a comforting hand on Lal's shoulder and says with a comforting tone "you'll be fine we'll be right outside if you need us"  Lal replies "ok mother"  Data sees Dezirae shake her head in disappointment at him as she walks by and hears her say into his ear in a soft harsh tone only he could hear once she reaches his side "maybe you should check yourself once you're through with her!"  he opens his mouth to speak but she was gone before he had the chance to say anything and that made him sad.... "well that's a relief!"  Deanna hears Dezirae say "what is!?!  Deanna asks "it's one thing for her to feel fear.... if she were truly malfunctioning in the way they seem to claim she is she would have felt him open her up but she didn't"  Dezirae replies Deanna nods somewhat understanding what she meant "how is it you sense the emotions of those who have none!?!"  Wesley.... who arrived a minute or so after Deanna and Dezirae walked out of the lab with Picard....who had returned to his duties.... asks curiously "I'm not sure.... though I have a feeling I do more than just "sense" their emotions.... though I'm not so sure you truly need an emotion chip to feel them.... after all in his own way Data shows bits of emotions he claims he doesn't feel without my help"  Dezirae replies "this is true"  Geordi.... who came with Wesley.... says Deanna smiles and for no particular reason Geordi, Wesley and Deanna laugh Dezirae just smiles once the laughter dies down the Admiral walks out of the room rubbing his hands like a surgeon after he just finishes surgery and says "she won't survive much longer there was nothing anyone could have done we'd repolarize one pathway and another would collapse and then another his hands.... were moving faster than I could see, trying to stay ahead of each breakdown he refused to give up he was remarkable it just.... wasn't meant to be"  Dezirae rushes past him into the room hearing the doors open Data looks over and sees Dezirae staring at him and Lal as though she was unsure she should walk over and give him a hug so he does it for her.... anything to feel her comfortingly loving arms around him.... she reaches over and wraps her arm around Lal who hugs her back "Lal? I am unable to correct the system failure"  Data says looking at his daughter as he lets Dezirae go "I know"  Lal replies as she copies her fathers motion and lets Dezirae go while looking into her fathers eyes  "we must say goodbye now"  Data says "I feel...."  Lal replies looking from her "mother" to her father "what do you feel, Lal?"  Data asks "I love you, father.... mother"  Lal replies once again looking from one to the other Dezirae smiles at her as Data says "I wish I could feel it with you"  Lal replies "I will feel it for both of us thank you for my life, flirting, laughter, painting, family, female, human...."  then Lal shuts down and Data once again hugs Dezirae wishing he had the capability to cry "would you like it if I helped you place her within you!?"  Dezirae asks Data looks up at her and replies "I would like that very much"  she kisses his forehead then gets to work he tilts his head then smiles and goes to help her "oh dear!.... I just thought of something"  Dezirae says "what is that!?"  Data asks "you'll know know what kind of kisser Will is!"  she replies he looks at her oddly and she laughs for him which makes him smile for he realized she was joking.... though he would indeed somewhat know how "good" a kisser Riker is thanks to his child "forcing" Will into giving her her first and only kiss....

"I have been thinking.... though you should take some time to think on it as well.... we have been.... "together" for over a year now and.... well.... it might be time to start sharing our quarters after all you have been walking me to mine just about everyday since I have arrived on this ship perhaps it would be better if instead you would already have me waiting for you in yours at the end of your sift instead of constantly taking all those breaks for such a menial task"  Dezirae says as she and Data walk towards her quarters "though if you do not want to that's ok...."  she adds with a soft low unsure tone "I know why you haven't taken us as far as most would go during this "phase" of a relationship.... the fact that you.... like Lal did.... feel more than you usually do when it's just me and you compared to the way it was before I "crashed" into your life so to speak.... the fact that I somehow make you feel bits of emotions one like you doesn't feel without a emotion chip, trust me I don't understand it either but I've learned to embrace that which I don't understand for in my own selfishness and the want of having what you give me...."  she continues "I would like that"  he replies "I do find it odd that you ask me to leave with you when Maddox came along but have never thought to move me in yourself much sooner than now!"  she says semi-teasingly "you did not suggest it"  he replies she laughs then says "so I need to suggest things to make them happen huh!?"  he smiles and replies "indeed"  she laughs once more and his smile grows.... Data helps Dezirae move what little she has accumulated in the past year or so to his quarters he seemed quite pleased she chose his quarters instead of hers though he knew she did it because he was more familiar with it and it was basically a part of him even though it was not attached he also enjoyed having her around for like she said he no longer had to "waste".... even though he didn't consider it a waste.... time walking into her quarters.... when she so allowed.... before heading to his.... if he even ever did that for most of the time he stayed and watched her sleep.... "that was an oddity!"  Dezirae says a few days later when the Enterprise receives its temporary first officer from the Klingon Exchange Program she had just come off the Bridge as Picard allowed said Klingon named Kurn to take command he had asked who she was and why she was out of uniform then when he asked why someone who was not of Federation standing was allowed in the one place "visitor".... other than a select few.... were not allowed in was there and tried to have her escorted off then when no one moved to remove her tried to remove her himself and ended up losing his very first battle during his time on the Enterprise as she fought him to make sure he never attempted to touch her again.... which he found amusing and an extreme turn on.... and he did indeed leave her alone and "allowed" her to stay which made her leave anyway for she did not "approve" of his thoughts of her.... she ends up walking into the dinner of some of the higher ranking officers with a few plates of Klingon dishes.... mainly for Worf who ended up sharing anyway.... then leaving Worf seemed grateful that she did such a thing.... which she has done on a few occasions special ones like birthdays, Klingon holidays and the like.... for Kurn had just mentioned that the food he was served was to "bland" for a Klingon he believed she must have felt his discomfort and like she would always do.... in her own way.... tried to simmer it down a bit then Worf found out a little while later that she.... like the rest of the crew.... did not much care for the Klingon especially after his reaction to her showing of her strength and prowess which he didn't blame her one bit she only didn't want Kurn showing her that he believed he was better than her when he was not and she proved it tenfold in that short match in the corner of the Bridge where no one would get hurt but him as they watched it happen with shocked expressions on their faces.... when Worf and Picard returned Qo'noS Dezirae prepared another feast with a mix of both Klingon and Earth foods and she invited all their friends to it "I know it seems like the wrong reason to celebrate but you should be proud of yourself Worf and since I don't know your father I can't in all honesty claim that your Klingon parents would be proud but we certainly are.... if your brother were here I'd say we were using this to celebrate all the birthdays you have missed but we don't have any gifts to give though if you ask me I'd say meeting you and getting to know you in this short time may have been the greatest gift he has ever received"  Dezirae tells Worf when he sees the feast he smiles and replies "thank you"  then they join their friends in the little feast like party....

"I don't think he knows how to shut it off"  Dezirae observes when she meets Tam Elbrun who is a Betazoid with extreme ESP abilities "that must get so annoying!"  she adds Tam seemed to like her because of the fact that like Data he could not read her and yet unlike Data she is NOT an android.... "all he wants is peace and he believes this "Tin Man" can give it to him one voice versus the many I can see why he might think that and.... at least they won't be much less feel alone anymore he will have a purpose a reason to continue on by giving the Tin Man what he wants you will be saving him"  Dezirae had told Picard when he asked for her opinion on the Betazoid man "and what does he want!?"  Picard asks curiously "someone to care for and someone to care for him"  Dezirae replies "thank you"  Picard says she nods then smiles and walks out of the room passing by Deanna and Data who were just entering so that Picard could get their opinions as well...."you sent for me?"  Deanna says to Data as she walks into the Observation Lounge "yes, Counselor it was Tam's final request that I explain his decision to the crew but I believe his hope was that you would understand"  Data replies as he turns to look at her from his spot by the window "what did happen?"  Troi asks "I witnessed something remarkable individually they were both so...."  Data replies "wounded? isolated?"  Troi asks "yes but no longer through joining they have been healed grief has been transmuted to joy loneliness to belonging"  Data replies "Data, you do understand"  Troi exclaims happily "yes, Counselor when Tin Man returned me to the Enterprise, I realized this is where I belong.... with all of you... and Dezirae"  Data replies then he turns back around and continues to look out at the stars Troi walks over and cups one hand around his shoulder and places the other upon his other shoulder as she leans her body up against his back and they both look at the stars together.... a month or so later as Data was transporting kilos of Hytritium by shuttle from the ship Jovis to the Enterprise Dezirae walks into Deanna's quarters and exclaims with a worried tone "Data's hurt!"  Deanna turns around and looks at her friend who was rubbing her fingers and shaking her hand as though trying to get rid of a tingling feeling within them "something's wrong!"  Dezirae says with a sad tone and Deanna walks over and hugs her "I'm sorry I shouldn't have barged in like that"  Dezirae says with a soft apologetic tone "it's alright"  Deanna replies with a smile then she leans back looks her friend in the eyes and asks "why were you pulling on your fingers like that!?!"  Dezirae replies as Deanna lets go of her "it felt like a wave of shock that has gone through my entire body starting with the fingers and working it's way up.... such an odd feeling!"  Deanna softly chuckles then says "I bet!"  Dezirae smiles but her eyes were still worried as were Deanna's for she knew that Dezirae somehow could always sense everything she couldn't about her friend and Dezirae's lover.... a few minutes later after Dezirae left Deanna's Quarters she returned to her and Data's where she found Wesley and Geordi walking around inside "what are you doing!?!.... he isn't dead just.... gone"  Desiree asks the two men turn and look at her in surprise "what do you mean!?!"  Wesley asks "think about it.... you send a ANDROID to a TRADER!.... what would you expect to happen!?!.... he either kept Data for his own entertainment, a collection of "goods" he found "beautifully unique" or to sell him to the highest bidder for much of the same purpose or worse!"  Dezirae replies then they watch as she shoots back as though she's been shocked her head jolts to the side as she shakes the feeling off and the two men realize that she is feeling whatever Data must be going through at this very moment (when his body hit Kivas Fajo's force field/shield.... twice) and they knew she was telling the truth besides out of everyone she would take Data's death the hardest because she loves him in the strongest capacity.... more than just a friend and/or family.... taking his friend at her word.... as he always does.... Geordi conducts analysis' on how they could have done it and Dezirae conducts a experiment of her own as she tries to semi recreate her arrival on the Enterprise and see of she can find Data on the ship he is now trapped on.... "how cute!.... the kids would enjoy having her in class"  Data hears a familiar soft celestially melodious voice coo from behind him he turns to see a "shadow" of Dezirae that looked very much like a holo-projection of her petting the Lapling and gently scratching its chin making it trill he smiles and asks "what are you doing here!?! how did you get here!?!"  Dezirae turns and smiles at him as she removes her hand from the creatures cage and if Data was not mistaken he could have sworn the being looked.... disappointed.... that she stopped paying it any mind "I know the feeling"  he tells it Dezirae looks at him oddly then at the Lapling and she chuckles "they did think you are dead but I.... may have changed their minds.... they do need to prove my assumptions correct but...."  Data tilts his head curiously and asks "how did you....!?!"  she replies before he could finish "people sure do like to electrocute you.... it's a very shocking experience!"  he tilts his head at her she smiles then walks over to the red couch in the center of the room and sits down "I don't know how long I can keep this up so.... come.... sit by me!"  she says he walks over and sits next to her looking into her beautiful eyes as he does so
