It was late, late enough for the darkness to dim the outlines of trees and the features of people's faces. It was the time that teenagers would be going out and children getting called in. The street lamps were flickering on outside the academy and all the girls were settling into their room, showering, reading, this was their time at the end of the day.

You were finishing up the dishes when you heard a knock on the front door. Silently you put the dish you were holding into the sink, the academy didn't have a dishwasher, and as much as you wanted, Cordelia didn't let you use your powers for unnecessary things. Your feet made the floorboards creak underneath you as you walked towards the grand entrance of the academy. You opened the door and was met with a woman, she looked to be in her early thirties. Her face although youthful looked tired. She had puffy red eyes from what you assumed was crying.

"Hello," the woman's voice was sweet, and high pitched. "I'm Rhea," she held out her hand and you took it in yours, her hands were soft- they felt like she had never worked a day in her life. She smells vaguely of roses mixed with stale cigarettes.

"Y/n," you replied, your voice sounded deep after hearing her speak.

"I saw an ad on the t.v a little while back and well," she paused for a brief moment, "I was wondering if positions are still available,"

"Of course, we're always accepting new witches, why don't I bring you to meet the headmistress? She better aquept to answer any questions you may have," you opened the door and gestured for Rhea to enter. Only then did you see something was behind her, no-not something, someone.

"Actually I'm not here for myself," she said while accepting your invitation inside. Now that she had walked past you you could see the small child following behind her. Her little hands were wrapped around Rheas three fingers. She looked no older than two or three. Her brown hair matched her mothers, it fell in loose ringlets around her shoulders. Her eyes avoided yours and looked at the house instead. You understood, the first time you were here you were completely awestruck by how elegant the house looked. The white walls and high ceilings only added to the luxurious feeling of the house.

"Who are you here for?" it couldn't possibly be the child, she was much too young for someone to even suspect she's a witch.

"My daughter, Ally," she tapped the girls fingers that were holding onto her hand.

"I've never even heard of a witch developing their powers that young, how old is she?" you asked, excitement and curiosity creeping into your voice. The small girl held the hand that wasn't holding her mothers hand. Two chubby fingers came up as she said in the cutest voice you've ever heard.

"I'm three" you swear your heart melted a little from the girl's gentle innocence. You smiled at her and reached to fix her fingers.

"There, now that shows three, see? One, two, three" you counted her fingers with the tip of yours. Her face made a small frown as she focused on what you said.

"Three, one, two, three," she copied exactly what you had done by counting her fingers with her other hand. You smiled at her immense cuteness.

"Very good," the girl giggled at your praise.

"Follow me, I can show you to Cordelia's office." you lead them through the house to her office. The lights were off so you assumed she was either in her room or in the green house. "We don't usually get visitors at this hour," you gave your visitors a charming smile, "I'll go grab Cordelia, if you'll wait here I won't be long," you gestured towards the seats that sat in front of Cordelia's desk. You turned on the heel of your bare foot and started searching through the house to find Cordelia.

Of course she was in the green house, her blond hair was down in small waves and the dim lighting gave her an unearthly glow. You leaned in the doorway of the green house for a few moments while watching Cordelia in her environment. Her hands skimmed over the jars that lined the bookshelf, her back was turned to you and she was so focused on her work that she hadn't heard you come in. she turned to go back to the island in the middle of the greenhouse and dropped the jar she was holding. Her hands came straight to her chest.

"Jesus Y/n you scared me!" she chuckled, her voice filling the previously silent room. You chuckled at how easily frightened she got.

"Sorry about that," you chuckled through your sentence, "there are some people here, they're looking to join the coven," you informed the headmistress, she was looking for cleaning supplies to sweep the mess from the jar.

"It's pretty late for someone to come," she finally found what she was looking for in the back closet of the room.

"I know, but I think you're gonna want to see them," you paused before speaking again, making sure you had Cordelia's full attention, "the witch is three," you could see Cordelia's eyes widen at your statement, the wheels were turning in her head. You could always tell when she was thinking, she got this small focused look on her face when she was deep in though. Her bottom lip would be pulled between her teeth, although that was a habit of hers, her eyebrows would slightly pull together in the center, barely enough to notice but you have always been an observant person. "They're waiting in your office, I can clean this if you want," you snapped Cordelia out of her thoughts and she gave you a small smile at your gesture to help.

"No, it's fine I'll clean it when I finish with them," a small smile tugged at your lips, god she was stubborn.

"Oh please Delia," you chuckled throughout your sentence. The woman across from you slightly stiffened at your new nickname for her. You noticed her slight reaction, although she was good at keeping her reactions internal, the nickname got to her. She would always notice the small things you did, like how you would graze her shoulder when you walked into a room, or how you would quickly brush her hips when trying to get past her. It seemed like every time you were near her you would find a way to touch her. During Cordelia's thought process you made your way towards her and grabbed the cleaning supplies out of her hands. "Go, I'll finish here," Cordelia snapped out her thoughts and started to protest, "this isn't even a conversation right now," you laughed again, making her drop her stubborn    guard. However headstrong she was, you out-matched her, she could never win against you. She begrudgingly made her way towards the doorway, stopping for a moment to look back at you. You were already on your hands and knees picking up the glass.
