Annabelle P.O.V

I didn't sit with my family for dinner that night.

Uncle John allowed me to eat in my room. 

I sat there and sighed, looking up at my ceiling. 

Why was life so hard?

Suddenly a light bang interrupted my thoughts and I sat up. 

There it was again.

I walked to the windows, pulling my curtains back to see a distant Danny down on the grass.

As I opened up the window he shouted: "I'm coming up!"

Yeah, no, that plan was going to fail.

But, surprisingly, only a few minutes later he rolled through my window and landed with a thump.

I giggled at him and he stood up and smiled down at me.

"Hey babe," he dragged out and put his hands on either side of my face. His lips came closer and I really thought that he was about to kiss me...

When he just pecked me on the nose.

"Where were you to-"

I pressed my lips to his.

At first, he didn't react but he soon did, moving against my lips quickly. My tongue went into his mouth and his hands ran down my body, moving over my hips.

I was really kissing Danny.

He pushed me back onto the bed and continued to kiss me, him pinning me down. I 'hmmed' in approval and he pulled back.

We both took several deeps breathes and smiled. 

"Again?" he suggested.

"Yup," I giggled, diving back in.

And that was how the night continued; kissing, and lots of it, but not much more. It was mostly just that and grinding, but nothing more.

It did get heated through, however, and the night ended well. Danny wouldn't stop complaining about how he didn't want to leave, but I had to force him.

"Fine," he pouted. "But only because I really like you. Otherwise, I would be taking you right now,"

And I believed him.

It wasn't a secret that in school Danny had been with more than a few girls, but as hookups apparently. Now?

Now he was waiting for me.

I didn't know him well enough and I wasn't sure that I wanted to give him my virginity.

But I did know one thing for sure;

I was falling for Danny.

Hard.

The next day I went to school as usual, and nobody really questioned why I wasn't in. I said that I had a cold, which I now did, and they all just left it alone.

After school, I asked Uncle John if I could see the mers'. His expression was shocked, to say the least.

"You really want to go back..?" he asked and I just nodded.

"As long as there is no more me going into the water..." I said to which he instantly nodded. 

I went off to my room to get changed and I tried my best to look nice, for some unknown reason. I wore a yellow off the shoulder top with a pair of skinny black jeans with showed off the little shape that I had.

But still, it was an attempt.

I quickly grabbed my bag, which I had already prepared, and ran down the stairs to the car. Uncle John was sat patiently, and once I was sat down, he turned to look at me.

"You need to be careful, Annabelle," He whispered. "These people can be dangerous. Don't get involved with them," 

I just nodded. I was thinking about moving away anyway, so I guess I wouldn't have to deal with them any more.

 We arrived at the aquarium pretty quickly where I practically skipped in and raced to the room. 

I walked in slowly, however, to make sure that I didn't alert any of them.

Too bad.

They all instantly looked.

But I couldn't see a few of the ones that I would usually recognise. 

Including Tessa.

Never the less, I walked up to the top where I was greeted by a familiar face.

"Annabelle!" Millie shouted out, instantly swimming close to the edge. 

"Hey, Millie!" I said, sitting down. "Do you know where Tessa is?" I asked and she nodded.

She looked nervous and I froze.

What was going on?

"Millie," I started off. "Where is she?"

"I'm not supposed to tell anyone," she said and this made me even more worried.

I gave her stern look and she almost instantly cracked.

"She left with the others," she quickly splats out just as another mermaid popped up.

"Millie!" the woman exclaimed, and I guessed that she was her mother.

But then it hit me;

They left...?

"Miss, could you tell me where or how...? Please," I said, backing away now that there was an adult mer. 

The women sighed and shook her head.

"They found a way to escape so they took it. Only a few of them could go, so not all of us could, but they managed to get out,"

"How?" I exclaimed.

"They used a spell," she whispered. 

"And it gave them legs,"

Another update! Woop Woop! 

A lot went on in this chapter, and it was quite small (sorry!).
