*(Y/n)'s POV*

We walked across the pier later that evening after gathering equipment from both our parents. I had to shove whatever I could fit inside my backpack, and the rest went into Sam and Tucker's. Sam and I avoided each other on the way as much as we could. Danny did the same, however, he was still very touchy with me with his hand in mine, so I was assuming he's trying his best to make sure nothing else bad happens.

Jazz was carrying a duffle bag and was walking to a stop beside me. We looked over and faced Amity Park's mattress factory. "A mattress warehouse." Danny said, looking at Tucker's device that tracked Nocturn.

"Of course." I said, sarcastically.

"That new antenna must be receiving the signals from all the headsets." Danny said. I pulled out an ecto-gun from my backpack and our backs faced the walls before heading inside. Sam and Tucker were on the other side with Jazz. "Everyone cool with the plan?"

"Take out the army of Creepwalkers." Jazz said.

"Sleepwalkers." he corrected.

"You call them what you want, I'll call them what I want."

"Then, use Tucker's PDA to destroy that giant antenna." I mentioned. "And...whatever it's connected to."

"And then we unleash the Fenton Ghost Catcher!" Sam grinned at me. The only thing I could do was play along and smile back like old times.

"And we nail them!" Tucker finished, grabbing the thermos from her. My eyes widened when a Sleepwalker floated beside him, taking the thermos from him and crushed it in his hand. We all grouped together as several more Sleepwalkers rounded us up.

"Alright, guys." Danny said. "Let's do it!" I stood next to him and started firing the ecto-gun as he held out his hands to freeze the Sleepwalkers. When he froze the two Sleepwalkers in front of us, I destroyed them both in two hits.

I pulled back my ecto-gun just in time to hear Sam yelp behind me. "Sam!" I said. I turned around and started to help her as she fell on her back with the bazooka that did nothing to the Sleepwalkers coming up to her. As I started running forward, the one of the Sleepwalkers she shot at grabbed the bazooka and yanked it from her. The other one grabbed her and pulled her up from the ground. "Sam, no!"

I felt a rush of wind go past me and I looked up to see Danny already flying after her. He froze the Sleepwalkers and kicked them away from her. She started screaming and falling from the sky until he dove down to catch her and I frowned.

I watched Danny set her gently on the ground. "You okay?" He asked, and I noticed she was looking at me instead of Danny.

"Huh?" She muttered, and then looked back at him with a flustered response. "Oh...uh, yeah. Listen, Danny. I-"

"Cool." He said, interrupting her so quick that she was surprised. She looked at me and I ended up rolling my eyes. I turned away from her as Sleepwalkers ganged up on me and Jazz. I stood back to back with her, firing some more ecto-energy from the guns until Danny arrived.

"(Y/n)!" Tucker said, throwing the thermos at me. I attached the ecto-gun to my belt and flipped the lid off the thermos. Danny led the Sleepwalkers to us and all four of us sucked them inside.

"Nice teamwork, guys." Danny said, landing down in front of us. "Now lets get Nocturn."

We regrouped at the front entrance where Danny kicked the door down. When we walked in, the first thing I saw a huge chamber that held a large ghost and mattresses laid out everywhere. "Oh no..." I said.

"No!" Danny said, walking forward. "Nocturn. He's huge!" He floated over to the lid of the chamber. "He's absorbing dreams and getting more powerful. We have to stop him!" Jazz and I exchanged looks and saw him pulling on the lid. He punched the lid and all we heard was a loud clang. "Ow!" He tried everything to break through the chamber, and tossed a ghost orb at it that rebounded.

"Danny, you need to stay focused." Sam said just as I was about to open my mouth and say something. "The longer Nocturn's in there-"

"The stronger he gets, Sam." I grumbled. "I think he knows that, one-hundred percent."

She gave me a ticked off look and honestly, I didn't care. I felt a pang of pettiness inside me growing. She was about to tell him something that I didn't want to hear myself earlier. Like, what if she wanted to tell him how much she felt about him? That I don't belong with him? Or to my surprise, what if she told him that she was sorry and didn't mean to think that she and Danny belonged with each other? She could've told me herself.

"Exactly, that's why I'm trying to break in and wake him up." Danny said, then he paused for a moment. "Wait a minute...Wake him up. We wake him up. The same way I woke all of you." Danny floated down next to me and we tilted our heads. "Think about it, you all woke up by being surprised. If I beat him in his dream, if we startle him awake, we can-"

"-We can catch him." Jazz said, walking over with the thermos.

"Danny." I said, right before Sam opened her mouth. He turned to face me, "You can't go in the dream alone. You don't know what's in there. I'm coming with you."

"I don't really have a choice, do I?" He asked, grinning.

"No." I smiled. "As my boyfriend, not so much."

"You kids have fun." Tucker said, pulling Sam away from us. From the corner of my eye, I saw her fold her arms together, but then I saw a glimpse of guilt. "I know I always say I wanna be the man of someone's dreams, but this isn't what I meant."

"Tuck, you, Sam, and Jazz stay out here and calibrate your PDA to shut down this dream machine." Danny said, "That should stop the Sleepwalkers at least." He took my hand in his, "You sure you want to do this, (Y/n)? I've never overshadowed with a partner before." We both looked over at the huge chamber before us as the other three walked away to get in position.

To his surprise, I gave him a kiss, "Can you...make room for me?"

He turned us both invisible and took my other hand in his. "You okay, (Y/n)?"

"Tingly." I said. "But good. Danny, under different circumstances, I'm really glad I met you."

"And I wouldn't change it for anything." Danny said, and I felt butterflies in my stomach.

"Let's do this together."

*Third Person POV*

"Wow." Sam whistled, smiling as she and Jazz watched the couple fly into the chamber. "I should've apologized to (Y/n) when I had the chance. She didn't deserve any of my bitterness towards her."

"Yeah, ever since (Y/n) moved into town, those two are really-" Jazz started to say until Tucker interrupted.

"Creepy!" Tucker exclaimed, and the other two looked at him in confusion. "I mean, Creepwalkers at 5 o'clock!" He pulled out a laser and fired at several Sleepwalkers appearing from the ceiling. They ran towards the chamber, leaving Sam at the bottom of the chamber to guard the chamber.

"I hope Danny and (Y/n) are doing better inside Nocturn's dream!" Sam said as she attacked the Sleepwalkers.

*(Y/n)'s POV*

When we arrived in Nocturn's dream, all we saw was a swarm of Sleepwalkers marching up to his castle. Danny and I peered from a tree over a hill, a while away from the army of green ghosts. "I gotta hand it to the guy." Danny said, looking at me. "He's got a vision."

Lightning flashed before us and I saw Nocturn angrily looking down at us. "Uh oh..." I said as he disappeared once the thunder cracked. "Did he just see us?"

"Ahh, the Ghost Boy and his current girlfriend once again, together." Nocturn said, in full view. We gasped, and turned to face him. "In Dreamland. I'm sure you've sorted out the situation in the real world on what actually happened?"

"Well this is one dream you're gonna wish you woke up from." Danny said, putting his hands together to create an ecto-blast of energy from his hands. I watched as he launched himself at Nocturn, pushing him off the ground and into the sky. Nocturn screamed, and got pummeled to the ground by another ecto-blast of energy.

I ran forward with the thermos and sucked him inside. I looked at Danny and said, "That was too easy. Something's not right. Why didn't Nocturn wake up?"

The ground rumbled tremendously, and Danny turned around. We looked over to see Nocturn looming over us, and he was even bigger than before. "Did you honestly think you could defeat me in my own dreams? I am the king of dreams. You cannot win in my world." Nocturn said.

Danny grabbed my hand and pulled me close to him. "Then we'll just have to take back the home field advantage! Let's get out of here, (Y/n)!" We started to phase out of Nocturn's dream, but then we found ourselves back in Nocturn's dream. "It didn't work. I can't get us out!"

"I told you." Nocturn said, and my jaw dropped. "I control all dreams. Especially my own." I was standing behind Danny, who backed up into me. We both continued to back away slowly. "And in my dream you two shall remain forever."

We held hands again and started running away together until we saw thousands of Sleepwalkers standing before us. "Oh boy..." Danny said.

"Fight, Danny!" I shouted, as I pulled out my ecto-gun from my belt. I turned it on and we attacked the Sleepwalkers. We managed to put holes through their chests, but the holes in their chests regenerated and they walked towards us.

"Your weapons no longer work. The dreams of your families and friends have made me and my army unstoppable." We were getting sandwiched between them and I squeezed Danny's hand.
"Now you will join them and patrol the nights for eternity."

We didn't know what to do. We turned to face Nocturn again and he continued to creep up towards us which made us walk backwards into the Sleepwalkers. They snatched at our hands and Nocturn laughed. "Only a miracle could save you now." Nocturn said.

The Sleepwalker that held its arms around my waist disappeared and we were dropped to the ground. Danny and I looked over our shoulders to see all the Sleepwalkers disappearing before us. "W-what happened?" I asked.

"Tucker, Sam, and Jazz did it!" Danny exclaimed.

"I don't understand..." Nocturn suddenly said, and we saw him trembling. "Why do I suddenly feel weak?"

"Because this is now your worst nightmare!" I said, grinning as Danny floated in front of me to freeze Nocturn's body whole.

"Will my girlfriend like to do the honors?" Danny asked, floating aside as I stepped forward with my ecto-gun.

"My pleasure." I said, whirring up the ecto-gun to life. "Sweet dreams!" I fired the gun at the frozen block of ice that held Nocturn and blasted him away. In the next minute, Danny held my hand and we found ourselves back in the mattress warehouse. Nocturn was awake from his chamber and he roared in anger at us.

"I shall destroy you for waking me." Nocturn snarled, and held up both arms in the air. "Sleepwalkers, form!"

"Sounds like someone woke up cranky!" I teased as we stood back up.

"In your dreams, Nocturn!" Danny said. "The antenna's gone, and so's your dream machine. Everyone you put to sleep is waking up. You have no power."

Nocturn leaped towards us with a hand in the air, until he got sucked inside the Fenton Thermos by Sam. "Consider this, your wake up call." Tucker commented as Sam slammed the lid down.

"You guys think everyone will believe this was all a dream?" I asked as we sat at the pier right outside the warehouse. The five of us were watching the sun come up.

"I gotta say," Tucker said, "Nocturn was an evil creep, but I wouldn't mind having my dream again. I could get use to that."

"Me too!" Jazz said. "Yale professor. What's not to love. What about you three?" They all turned to me, Sam, and Danny and we were all caught off guard.

"I don't even remember what I dreamed about." Sam said straight up and I blinked at her.

"What-" I started to ask her and she winked at me and Danny. Danny placed his hand over my leg and I smiled at him. "M-me neither..."

"All I know is that everything I want is sitting right here next to me." Danny agreed, and our heads tilted towards each other. I felt Sam tap her finger on my shoulder and I managed to look at her. She smiled apologetically at me, and we both bumped fists together. I saw her mouth the words, "I'm sorry".

Maybe Sam isn't such a bad friend after all.
