The rest of the day was pretty much the best day ever for the both of us. No ghosts whatsoever and Danny took me out to dinner at a diner!

When we arrived at the diner, we ordered fries and shared a large strawberry milkshake together. We talked for a while until lights flickered off at our booth. We weren't really sure what to do next until one of the workers came by with candles lit and set it on our table to set the mood. Danny reached for my hand and held it in his as we smiled together. 

The next day, we had plans to go watch baseball at the stadium. They were giving away 2 free tickets to go to the carnival that evening, and I was hoping we'd get chosen. All of a sudden, our faces appeared on the screen after they scanned through everyone by the bleachers.  

I leaned my head against Danny's as the word, "Winner!" blinked underneath our faces and we smiled together. 

My parents dropped us off later that night at the carnival and we decided to go on the Ferris Wheel first, which Danny convinced me to go on. I was afraid of heights, and Danny assured me that he'd be the one to catch me if I fell out. 

As we got on, the ride stopped at the very top. I started having a panic attack until Danny had me lean against him. There, I felt safe and I held his hand in mine.

*Sam's POV*

"You brought binoculars?" Tucker asked me as we spied on (Y/n) and Danny from afar behind bushes. 

"Of course!" I said with glee. "I wanted to see how those two lovebirds were doing and making sure he doesn't screw it up." I put the binoculars back up to my face and I gasped. "Oh, of course that's where the Ferris Wheel stops. Why wouldn't it? Hey, can you turn that down?"

I glared at Tucker who also glared back at me. He was shaking his PDA that was staticky all night long. "No!" He exclaimed, unable to do anything. "Ever since that fight with Technus, this thing goes staticky at the weirdest times." Then, Technus' face popped up on his PDA and he was cackling with laughter. "Oh no." Tucker said in realization.

We watched as the buildings nearby have Danny and (Y/n)'s initials appear together with a heart.

"And now we know why: it's picking up Technus! Something in his new upgrade is making my PDA all wonky..."

"Like, at the mall." I pointed out. "And the lab, and the Ferris Wheel! He's pushing Danny and (Y/n) together! No wonder they've been able to have a date night without anything happening." Tucker started laughing at me while his PDA made noises. "If you're done, we have to tell them."

He continued giggling, "You wanna tell them that Technus is playing matchmaker?! How do you think they're going to react to that?"

*(Y/n)'s POV*

Danny and I couldn't stop laughing. We both were leaning against each other, trying to hold onto our sides from laughing so much after Sam explained what they gathered to us the next day. "Are you two done yet?" She asked, with her arms folded. Tucker on the side was smiling, too. 

"No." We both answered honestly, and Danny erupted into laughter more than I did. He wiped a tear from his eye. 

"Okay, I think we're done now." I said, sighing in relief after a few more seconds. 

"You're telling me and (Y/n) that Technus is trying to hook us up together?" Danny said. "We've already got that covered!" 

"Yeah, he should've done that on Christmas Eve." I giggled as a joke. "Come on, Sam, last night was the best night we've had in a really long time. Besides, Technus hates emotions."

"And hello?" Sam asked us. "He's using yours against you two?"

"Dim lights?" Tucker provided. "Stalled Ferris Wheels? You think the universe wants you two to have a stable relationship?" I gasped and felt my heart flutter.

"Well, m-maybe." I said, and Danny beside me nodded as well. 

"And I might." Danny said boldly, and I smiled. 

"Really?" Tucker asked as they gasped. "Because Tech-"

"Technically, because we just want you both to be happy!" Sam said. "If you're both happy, then I'm happy too." I noticed her eye was twitching a little bit out of annoyance, but honestly, it wasn't really their places to speak.

"Anyways, (Y/n) and I are going to head to class. You guys are going to catch up with us too, right?" We walked away with a wave and held hands on our way to class.

"Technus as matchmaker?" I asked Danny as he chuckled. "Is that true?"

"Please, he-" Danny said and we heard a twig snap. 

"What was that?"

"It's nothing." Danny assured. "Sam's probably being paranoid again."

Then, I wheeled around to see the ghost hunter flying towards us and heard the ecto-gun cock, and I placed my hands on Danny's shoulders. "But it doesn't mean she's not right!" I said, then I looked at Danny. "Valerie's not in there, is she?"

"No, she's not!" Technus said to us and pointed outward. We looked over across the street to see her walking up to the school and waving to us. "She's over there, in full view!" We found ourselves waving back at her, nervously. "Don't you think you two should run now?" Danny grabbed my hand and quickly pulled me along with him. We ran past Valerie.

"Hi, (Y/n), Danny!" She said. "Sam and I just had the greatest conversation and-" Then, Valerie gasped as she saw her ghost hunting equipment fly past her. "That's my suit, and it's after those two!" 

We kept running, and Technus caught up to us. "You were pushing us two together!" Danny said angrily. 

"You're both welcome!" Technus said, and I screamed as he fired the gun at us. Danny grabbed me and we dodged the attacks together, then he lifted me up from the ground and carried me. When we somersaulted away, Danny stood up, and started to transform, until Technus stopped him. "Ah ah ah, careful!" He pointed up at the cameras of the school. "Secret identity, remember? What would happen if you got caught too, with him, (Y/n)?" Then, the rings around Danny disappeared. "I wonder who will miss you more: the angry ghost hunter or the girl standing right beside you?"

"What are you-?" Danny started to say.

"Ah well, nothing you two need to worry about now because you are through with interfering with my plans!"

He aimed the gun at us and we saw the laser being pointed down at Danny's chest. "Danny!" I exclaimed. 

"So long, children!" Technus said, and before he could fire the gun at us, a milk carton was thrown at the side of his face. We looked over to Valerie who stood by with a huge stick in her hand. She leaped forward and knocked Technus off the hoverboard. 

"Danny, (Y/n)!" Valerie shouted. "Run!"

"But-!" We said. 

"Just run!"

"Oh, we're running." Danny said. I looked over to see Sam and Tucker in front of the school and I joined up with them. "And I'm running to get help!" We watched from the sidelines as Valerie jumped forward and kicked Technus backwards while using the stick as a pole to swing herself around. 

"Whoa." Sam and I commented as she landed on her feet.

"She is a ninth degree black belt!" Tucker said. "We'd better get on her good side."

Then, Valerie grabbed a set of keys from her pocket and threw it down as Technus fired the ecto-gun again. They were stabbed right at his chest. "Oh great..." Valerie said. "Now I'm doomed and can't get into my house!"

Valerie got knocked backwards by the blast of the gun, and grunted in pain. Danny flew overhead and we saw him tackle Technus, and they flew upward until they hit a clock tower. We watched as Danny shot a ghost ray at the suit, but it ended up hitting the hoverboard instead and it shattered to the ground. Valerie hurried towards us and we all split up from the damage, screaming. 

"Valerie's not in there..." Danny said to himself. His hand glowed bright green as he pulled a fist back. "Which means I'm not holding back!" He aimed at the jumpsuit, and Technus allowed the arm to get broken off, then the leg. "Say goodbye, punk!" He threw another ghost ray to make a hole in the suit and watched it powered down in front of him before it self destructed.
