After some hours hearing the child non stop talking, [y/n] learn about the orphanage he and othes children live. Also about how his 'Father' is an amazing scientist.

As the time pass by, the child was laying on the girl's lap, still talking.

[Y/n] was only nodding her head when she was questioned about something. While playing with the child's soft hair.

Nodding again, [y/n] look over the window, seeing nothing but the dark outside.

- Father almost working... never have time for me.

Looking at the child, [y/n] boop the child's nose, smiling to see his cheek turn into a pink shade. Going back to caress the child's hair, [y/n] look over the room, thinking.

- You know... remind me of my Mama.

Looking down, [y/n] saw the boy having small tears on his eyes as he look to the side.

- She... left me with Father... I miss her.

Gently taking the boy in her arms, [y/n] pat the boy's head, while listening to his soft cries.

- Fa-Father said she abandoned us to another family...

Placing the boy in her lap, [y/n] start to Hum an lullaby, just some part of it.

- Can you... sing a lullaby?

Looking at the young child, he was staring at the girl with hope in this eyes. Thinking about it... maybe she should try to sing it.

Nodding, [y/n] Place the child on the bed, covering his body with the warm blanket.

Clearing her throat, she place her hand over his hair, caressing it softly.

Looking at the child face, [y/n]'s eyes saw the little boy's ones slowly shut. Her soft and yet gentle melody made the atmosphere in the room more welcoming and have a safe feeling on it.

Seein his expression soften, [y/n] gently and slowly start to pull her hand away from his hair, looking for any signs he would wake up.

Standing beside the child, [y/n] Place the book she was reading beside the boy, feeling her heart ache for some reason.

Looking for any signs he would wake up, [y/n] moved to the window, seeing the dark outside.

-"Maybe i should go now..."

Quietly walking to her closed, she took her Coat and place is over her shoulder. Just to walk to her Room and look back one last time.

Closing the door behind her, [y/n] went out to be Free.

Avoiding the agent was easy, but some were hard to avoid, especially with this big coat.

Without being notice, [y/n] open the door which lend to the garden from before, except the dark and frozen night was freezing her legs.

Walking around the garden, she gently jump down the balcony which wasn't to high and start to walk away from the Castle.

Following a road down to the village, she notice a lot of houses with lights off. It must be a warm and comfy inside.

Her legs start to became more and more numb at her feet seem to freeze by the cold atmosphere.

Yet, if she stop now, she'll probably freeze to death in those conditions. Seein the Harbor right up ahead, [y/n] was about to sprint towards the water, but an loud alarm made a Zing noise over her ears, making the girl over it in pain.

- SHE'S THERE!

Forcing her hands off from her hears, she saw some figures coming closer to her. Letting go from the coat, she was by the edge of the harbor, but the cold water almost made her hesitant.

- Mama!

Looking back, she felt an tung over her heart. Behind, was Tartaglia with some Fatui Agents and the Small Dottore, Hugging the book she was reading close to his chest. Seeing small tears on the boy's eyes, made [y/n] feel more guilty than before.

- I'm sorry... kid.

Without thinking, She jump on the water, immediately feeling the cold engulf her body in an numb feeling.

Looking down, [y/n] take off her clothes, which was hurting her tail. Then, the smell of blood made her nose turn up. Seeing the reflection of a child and some big people outside the water, [y/n] could hear the yelling and crying, yet, no signs from where the blood was coming from.

Looking down, she notice an bullet hole on her tail, just for the girl start to swimming away from that cold and scary place.

How long she was swimming? She didn't know. Her mind was dizzy and the bullet was still on her tail, some times making the poor mermaid shrink in pain.

At at least the water wasn't cold. But the warm feeling made her body more sensitive.

Some times she could see white spots on her vision, but if she stop now, the fatui may find and punishment her for trying to escape.

Feeling an wave throwing her body on a warm sand. [Y/n] felt her body tired and sore. Her vision was going by focus to unfocus.

By her side, was an... skeleton? Of a whale it seems by how big it was.

The faint sound of steps made her body on alert, yet she couldn't do much.

Turning to look at the direction of the sound, [y/n] saw... a silhouette of a woman...

When the girl tried to talk, her voice was gone again... yet she wanted help.

When another wave hit her body, [y/n] let out a soft cry, seein her blood mix in the water.

Then... her vision went black.
