"Lady Palutena, show me that again!" yelled Pit.

"Alright, I'll do it, but in the world of Smash," replied Palutena.

"What?"

The world of Smash was big and had random floating islands all across. Underneath and all around the islands was darkness. There were lines around each island that Pit thought were the borders of the islands. But why?

"Okay Pit, let's go to my temple!" said Palutena.

"You have a temple here?" asked Pit, confused.

"Well, it's kind of a battlefield made for eight players and it's big and..."

Pit couldn't concentrate on what Palutena was saying because he was distracted by the island they were nearing.

"That must be Lady Palutena's temple!" thought Pit, and he flew up towards the line surrounding it.

"Don't touch that, Pit!" yelled Palutena.

She was late in warning him, though, because the energetic angel had already flown into it. He burst into an explosion of light and was teleported into the island.

"Well, that's one way to get in..." said Palutena, shaking her head.

"How else would you get in?" asked Pit.

"You get in without making contact with the line, of course," said Palutena. "It's called a blast line, by the way. That's why you exploded into a blast of light."

"You can warp, but I can't," said Pit, "so I can't use your method to get in."

"Enough with that," said Palutena. She warped onto the island.

"Right now the world of Smash is pretty empty," said Pit. "Does anyone else live here?"

"Well, no, but you could get trapped here," said Palutena.

"Why do people come here anyways?" asked Pit.

"Well, this temple is essentially a giant battlefield, like I said before, and the other islands, or stages, are too!" explained Palutena.

"Cool!" exclaimed Pit. "Is that why you brought me here? To show me your techniques that you use without making Viridi angry?"

"Well, sort of," said Palutena. "But I'd also like an audience of... maybe 57 people."

"Why 57?" asked Pit.

"Because that's how many people - or characters, can come here to Smash!" said Palutena. "Including you."

"So they're from different worlds?" asked Pit.

"Different 'series-s', I guess," said Palutena. "All the series-s have a logo to tell each other apart. They also each have a victory jingle, but even characters from the same series can have a different jingle, like you and Pittoo, for example."

"Don't call me that!" yelled Dark Pit.

"Hey, when did you get here?" asked Pit.

"Well, I summoned our audience already," said Palutena.

Suddenly 55 more characters of all different sizes and shapes and styles warped onto the temple.

"See Pit?" said Palutena. "Usually you can tell a series apart from others by its style of characters, but it can be hard sometimes. Some series-s only have one character!"

"Is that big penguin with the hammer in the same series as that pink puffball?" asked Pit.

"King Dedede is the big penguin, but which pink puffball are you talking about?" asked Palutena. "Kirby is the one with the derpier face, and Jigglypuff is the one with the giant eyes and cat ears."

"The derpy one, Kirby," said Pit.

"Then yes, King Dedede and Kirby are both from the Kirby series, along with Meta Knight, that masked puffball with wings and a sword," said Palutena. "Good job identifying series-s, Pit!"

"Well, it's pretty easy," said Pit, confidently.

"Alright, enough with that," said Palutena. "Let me demonstrate what I was going to do. Watch this, Pit. Black hole! And mega laser!"

A black hole opened up and sucked up all of Palutena's audience, including Pit and Dark Pit.

"Palutena!!!!!!!!!" yelled Pit.

"I won't fire the mega laser," said Palutena, "but I will have to do something about the black hole. If I collapse it, everyone will be teleported to a random stage in the Smash World. It's the only thing I can do without hurting anyone."

"Do it!" yelled Pit. "I don't care! Just get me out of this goddamn black hole!"

"Watch your language, Pit," said Palutena before collapsing the black hole. There was a huge explosion that shook the temple. Some characters fell to the ground, but most were teleported away.
