Nanase PoV

My name is Nanase Tsubasa, I'm a highschool student in my third year at Omeiga High. Graduation is around the corner and now i'm eating with my friend since childhood, Matsuo Eichiro.

Eichiro: "Hey, Tsubasa. "

Nanase: " Hm? "

Eichiro:" Graduation is coming soon, you've already been accepted into a university right? "

Nanase: "Yep! Im kind of scared and nervous...how about you? "

Eichiro: " Same here, i'm going to work hard so my old man can have a peaceful retirement, heh. "

He's always thought of his dad before anything else, Eichiro kun is truly a person I admire.

Nanase: "Im sure Matsuo san is going to have an easy life with a person like you working. After all, you never give up! "

He smiles and puffs his chest proudly

Eichiro: "You bet! "

We continued eating until he asked a question which made me almost snap my chopsticks.

Eichiro: "Hey, do you still have a crush on Ayano sensei? "

Nanase: "S-SHUSH! "

He looked at me with a shocked face and then he grins.

Eichiro: "God, you are insane! HAHAHAHAH! "

Nanase: "People could have heard you!"

He completely ignores my warning and continues nit picking into my pathetic love life.

Eichiro:" You had a CRUSH on him ever since the first year!"

STOP BULLYING MEEEE!!!

Eichiro: "Well, im not even suprised...seriously remember valentines day? Sensei got the most CHOCOLATE that day..."

Ah, I remember that day....

So many girls were offering chocolates to sensei, in fact  I think all the female students including the teachers gave him chocolate.

I struggled to give him chocolate since he was swarmed. But after the class and when everyone left, I left a chocolate at his desk while he was packing up and then ran away.

UGH, THINKING ABOUT IT IS SO EMBARASSING!

Nanase: "Yeah... "

Eichiro: "Seriously, it was so cute watching you struggle! You were literally at the back trying to get through but you got pushed back. I was so bored that I even imagined you as a struggling chibi character!"

Nanase:" S-Stop teasing me!"

My face was so red and I was beyond embarrassed at this point....
He stops laughing and regains his composure.

Eichiro: "But... I think you should really tell him. "

Nanase:" What? "

Eichiro-kun looks at me with a straight face

Eichiro: "Look, you've been planning to confess and I lost count of your many attempts. Graduation is coming soon... I think you should say what needs to be said."

Eh? I cant do that! What will Ayanokoji sensei think of me then?

No matter how many girls he clearly attracts, he always stay professional no matter what.

Deep down...I truly want to be with him but...it's not possible.

Eichiro: "Tsubasa, we grew up together  you know? I know you the best around here. You're gonna start regretting your decisions if you leave things unclear. "

He was right but still....I think it's completely unnecessary...

He sighs

Eichiro:" It's completely your choice. Anyways, I'll see you later! "

I waved him goodbye.

As I walked out of the classroom. I started to rethink my decisions.

Should I really confess and get it over with?

Or just stay silent and never let it come to light.

Ayanokoji-sensei started teaching when I was in my first year. He was suprisingly younger than I thought he was, he was simply 19 when he started teaching. And soon, the rest of the school began to understand why he got a job so young.

Ayanokoji-sensei was a genius...
He was a handsome gloomy type of teacher at first, but then sooner or later , many girls started to fall for his charm.

The worst part is the fact that Sensei didn't even do it intentionally!

He was simply teaching us and thats it...

But I first started falling for him when we had a private tutor session.

It was a really hard math problem and I didn't get it at first.

But suprisingly he adjusted to my pace and I got really better at it. We sat opposite of each other and I think I studied his face,personality and behavior more than math....

No...im turning red again...

God, I feel like a puppy who can't stop thinking about her owner...

Wait...why did I even compare myself to a puppy?

As I was walking home, I started to feel rain drops.

'No! Why is raining? I got no umbrella!'

Eichiro kun also left early...ugh...

I saw a nearby cafe and decided to camp there.  I went inside and decided to order a coffee so I can stay around.

Haah~ I really need to get myself together...

I turned around and suddenly bumped into someone,  the coffee went flying out of my hand.

I thought it was going to be wasted money but a hand caught it.

Eh? Quick reflexes!

???: "Here. "

I looked up to see someone I least expected...

Nanase: "S-Sensei...? "

His golden brown eyes looked at me.

Kiyotaka: "You  noticed me at last."

Nanase: "Huh? You were here the whole time? "

He hands me my coffee before answering.

Kiyotaka:" Yep. "

Ayanokoji-sensei went to order his coffee.
Once he got his coffee , he offered to sit together and I accepted.

As we sat at the table, I started to realize something...

I-Isn't this like a date?

Nonono don't turn red now...

SNAP OUT OF IT TSUBASA!

Kiyotaka:" You have no umbrella?"

Nanase: "Yeah... I forgot it. What about you? "

Kiyotaka: "Same here. "

Sensei was also quite clumsy huh...

Kiyotaka: "Nanase, what are your plans for the future? "

Nanase:" Hm, I want to become a vet. I always had a liking towards animals..."

Kiyotaka:" I see. Then as long as you do well in college, im sure you can achieve that dream."

His words always reached my heart.

I decided to be a little bit bold and tease sensei.

Nanase: "Ne~ are you going to miss me, sensei? "

I thought he'd at least take time to answer but-

Kiyotaka: "Of course. "

EHHHH?!?!

Kiyotaka: "You are one of the best students I've ever had, you've been diligent in your studies and not once have you disappointed me. "

I felt my face turning red at  how the tables have turned.

Kiyotaka: " I'm sure you'll grow up to be a fine young woman and have success in the real world..... Uh... Nanase are you alright? You seem red."

Sensei whyyyyyyyy

Nanase: "N-No im okay! I just didn't expect that answer... "

Sensei nodded then took a sip of his coffee

Kiyotaka:" It's only my honest thoughts."

I always wondered, does sensei have a girlfriend? Or has he dated anyone? I'd be suprised he didn't....and happy...

Nanase:" Sensei...do you perhaps have a girlfriend? "

He looks at me with slight suprise

Kiyotaka:" Interested in my love life are we? "

Nanase:" Im just curious... "

Sensei  looked at the window to see that it is still raining.

Kiyotaka:"Well, no. I don't have a girlfriend nor  have I  ever dated anyone. "

Eh? Really?

Kiyotaka:" I know, it probably sounds pathetic coming from your sensei. "

NO! IT'S THE BEST NEWS I'VE EVER HEA-

Nanase: "Eh? I don't think it's bad sensei! Im just suprised!"

Kiyotaka: "I see. What about you, Nanase? Somebody caught your eye? "

Damn you sensei!

I felt my face turning red.

Kiyotaka: "Hoh?, so somebody DID catch your eye. Im not suprised. "

Nanase:" N-No! It's not like that!"

(Chibi demon Nanase: Oh it's definitely like that. Kiyo sensei, please let me su-)

Kiyotaka:" Well you are a young girl. It's completely normal. "

Well...it WOULD be normal if you were a student too sensei....

Kiyotaka:" Oh, the rain finally stopped. But it's late at night, I'll walk you home".

Nanase:" Okay..."

On the road to her dog hou- HOME.

Sensei was staying by my side, making sure that I'd be home safely.

Nanase:" Um...sensei, I have a question to ask. "

Kiyotaka: "What is it? "

It's now or never....

Nanase:" If...a girl my age confessed to you.  What would you say? "

Kiyotaka: "I'd reject her quickly"

H-Huh?....

Nanase:" R-Really? Just like that huh...."

Kiyotaka: "It's not what you think. If a young girl like you were to confess to me, I'd definitely reject them because they still don't have a proper hold on their life. "

I looked at him as he kept speaking

Kiyotaka: "She still needs to go to college, select the right job, and be able to live properly. Besides, she would be way too young for me anyways. "

Nanase:" Well, I don't think it's that bad sensei...your age I mean. You are only 22 right? "

Kiyotaka:" Yes. "

It was silent for a while until we finally reached my street.

Nanase: "I think I'll start walking alone now... "

Kiyotaka:" Ah, alright then. Goodnight Nanase. "

Sensei turned around and began walking away.

"Graduation is coming soon...I think you should say what needs to be said."

I-I don't want it to end like this! I'LL JUST SAY IT TO HIM RIGHT NOW!

I turn around and start running to where sensei went.

As I kept running, I could see his back.

Almost!

As i got closer and closer, he turned his head to look at me quickly, suprise evident on his face.

Kiyotaka: "Nana- "

I hugged him.

I hugged him tightly.

I don't know why, but I felt like crying right now...

Kiyotaka: "Nanase...? "

He didn't move a single bit. I surely caught him off guard.

This is it Tsubasa.... this is your moment...

Nanase:" Sensei....I... "

Kiyotaka: "You what?"

Come on... just...SAY IT!

Nanase:" I-I like you! I like you so much sensei! I-I liked you ever s-since the first year.... "

Sensei was silent and I pulled away to look at him.

Nanase:" You..are such an amazing person...each time we spent together in our study sessions...or just like what happened today, I fall more and more! "

The tears slowly came out from my eyes

Nanase: "I-I'm going to m-miss you!....a-and...I wish...I could be with you... "

He started patting my head gently.

I thought this was what I wanted to say but I wasn't satisfied.  Did I perhaps want a future with sensei? Have I truly fallen that deep?

I have to say it too then....

No regrets.

Nanase: "I...I...I want to see you when I get older...when I do all the things you said...would you accept me?....would...you see me as a woman? Would you date me? Hold my hand? Kiss me? And say...that you love me?"

He wipes my tears with a handkerchief with his other hand. Once he was done,  he simply stared at me, as if he was thinking about his answer carefully.

Kiyotaka: "Nanase.... "

I wonder...what his answer is going to be.

Kiyotaka: "It's a no. "

Nanase:"....why?... "

Kiyotaka: "This must've been hard for you to say. But think about it , after all these years pass.  Would you still like me by then? Can you still say that you will wait for me?"

Nanase: "Yes! "

I spoke so suddenly, I didn't even think!

Kiyotaka: "That was too sudden , Nanase. It seems to me that you are not sure with your answer."

I put my hands on his chest

Nanase: "I will wait! I will grow older...I'll mature and then come find you! I'll get my life together...."

Sensei looked suprised at my sudden determination.

Looks like Eichiro kun was right....

I really am insane huh?

I internally chuckled at that thought.

Kiyotaka:"....are you sure? "

Nanase:" Yes! "

Kiyotaka: "Then....I'll wait for you...

Till you're of age."
