Angel was so happy to finally see the hotel in the distance, as he continued his walk. He was a bit sore from that shoot earlier but he was just relieved to finally get off his feet for a while. Angel smiled softly at the idea of walking into the hotel and smelling whatever Alastor was cooking, he could almost feel his mouth watering. Alastor had said something about brownies this morning, and Angel was ecstatic. He fucking loved brownies and he hasn't found a decent one since being down here. It was weird to think about how much they had hated each other in the beginning to him now excited to see the radio demon. Chuckling to himself, Angel kept his pace.
He could already hear Alastor asking why he was back so early. It was barely past 10 and Valentino had sent him home for some reason or another. Val had his moods, but Angel was surprised that the moth hadn't taken it out on anyone. Angel has seen some of those moods, being on the receiving end of a fit wasn't the best. Perhaps it was best that Val sent him home early. Well, it had been almost 8 when he was actually ordered to leave. He took his sweet time getting back to the hotel, taking a more scenic route around the city. Angel didn't get the chance to wander around the city very often especially with all the stuff Charlie kept piling on his schedule. If he had a moment's break he was dragged into a session to discuss his relapses, by Satan he hated how she always brought those up. It wasn't like he wasn't trying. It's just with Val, always trying to get and keep him high. It was so hard to stay sober and clean, and Charlie knew that. One nice thing about the whole situation was always having someone to talk to, especially since Cherri ascended.
God he was so surprised that she took to the training and lessons so fast. It hadn't even been a full year since she joined the program and she... Angel grumbled under his breath, don't think about it. He shook his head thinking about all his other friends... Think about Alastor... In truth, it was still odd how close the two got after only a month of the radio demon joining the hotel. They spent a lot of time together, more than most of the other guests at the hotel. He could almost hear the faint music radiating through the hotel, as the demon cooked. The first thing he would do was fling a comment at the deer, only to see him get flustered and send him a glare. Angel snickered at the thought.
The faint glow of the pentagram above turned the walk a blood red. He was just ready to see his friend... Alastor was more than a friend. Angel bit his lip, he wished it could be so but Alastor wasn't into that. Alastor would never have sex with him and Angel would never have to scream that name as they made love. Alastor wasn't like that. In truth, Angel appreciated that he didn't need to go around sleeping with every possible person in hell. A smile crossed his face as he pushed open the front door of the hotel.
He was greeted with silence. No scent of sweets or savory foods in the air that would carry him down to the kitchen. No soft humming of the radio that always emitted from the radio demon, there was no one in the place that he could see. Okay... That was a lie, Husk was passed out on the bar but that wasn't an uncommon sight. Angel slowly pulled his purse off his shoulders as he went to check the kitchen. The place looked barely touched let alone have someone cooking in it. Angel cast the space a confused look before he trotted back to the main room searching it over. The only other place that Angel could think of where the deer demon could be was his bedroom. Scooping up his purse, Angel headed towards the stairs and headed right to where Alastor's room was.
Alastor liked his privacy, but Angel knew that he was one of the only ones to actually see the room. However, for as long as he has known Alastor, almost ten months now, he has never once seen the bed touched. There were points where Angel even wondered if the demon slept at all. He skidded to a stop outside of the bedroom as he cast a small look around the hall finding it bare. Knocking Angel waited, hoping that he would answer. A few moments passed and Angel didn't hear anything on the other side of the door, and he knocked again. He needed to be patient, maybe Alastor was in the bathroom or something.
He stood there waiting, as Angel dug his phone out of his purse scanning the device over. No messages, not like he expected much. Tapping his foot, Angel huffed before knocking again. He tested the handle, finding it unlocked as he slowly pushed the door open. The room itself wasn't that different from his own. A queen sized bed took up a majority of the space, to the right side of the sat a bathroom whose door was wide open allowing him to see if there were any occupants. To the left was a closet door and closet, it wasn't terribly big but it managed for the amount of clothes the deer demon had. Pushed up against the side was a small office desk, a pile of paperwork sat on the dark wooden desk and a deep red leather office chair was just a few inches away from the desk. Angel gave a huff before shutting the door.
Perhaps Alastor wasn't at the hotel tonight, rare but not unheard of. Angel grumbled before turning and heading to his bedroom just a ways down the hall. Unlocking the door he tossed his purse on the bed as a soft oink came from under the bed as a pink nose popped out.
"Fat Nuggets. I'm home." Angel called, he just wanted to go to bed as he laid down and stared up at the ceiling. Something nagged at him in the back of his mind as Angel sat up. He should probably take Husk to his room, otherwise he's going to have a stiff neck. Angel rubbed the demon pig's head before getting to his feet and stripping off his boots, as he stretched his feet. Damn he hated those boots, they always constricked his feet just too much for him to wear them comfortably. He let his toes dig into the carpeted floor as he stretched himself as much as he could. His legs matched the rest of his body with white fur that ran down to the two nubs at the end of his feet. Angel hated his feet. Grabbing his cellphone he stuffed it into a suit pocket, before giving a small stretch, Husk wasn't a small guy. Pushing himself to his feet, Angel headed back down the hall casting Alastor's room one final glance before heading down the stairs.
"Husk, darling, it's time for bed." Angel called as he got no response. Angel smiled as he walked over to the avian cat as he pulled the man's head off the bar top, and picked him up bridal style. A wing nearly knocked into Angel's face and if he hadn't jerked back, he would have had a mouth full of feathers.
"Damn Husk, I ain't trying to attack yah." Angel whispered. Shifting the cat to his lower arms, he tried to use his upper ones to control the rogue wing. "Fuck this wing!" Angel snapped as the wing slapped him in the face. The cat didn't move besides giving off a soft snore, getting Angel to roll his eyes.
"The shit I do for ya people." Angel hissed as he started up the stairs, heading to the left. Angel could see Husk's room, and he let his lowest set of arms out so he could open the cat demon's door. The room was dark but Angel didn't really care as he dumped Husk on the bed.
"Have a good night sweety." Angel said, blowing a kiss as he retracted his lowest set of arms. Shutting the door quietly behind him, Angel started back towards his room ready for some sleep. He just wanted his bed and Fat Nuggets pressed up against him. He would prefer if Alastor was there as well... by Satan, he really had fallen hard in love with the overlord. Not like he could ever tell the guy that, if he couldn't have a relationship with Alastor the way he wanted. He knew that telling him would drive him away, Alastor was against all that love stuff. Angel would rather suffer with the thoughts of wanting to be with Alastor than destroy the friendship they had built. Angel walked past the stairs, perhaps one more knock wouldn't hurt.
He approached the door as he heard a thump from inside, perhaps Alastor had just gotten home. Angel hurried to the door knocking softly as he waited for a response. When he didn't hear much of anything he felt himself sag. A small twist came from the knob, as Angel's energy spiked. He was so thrilled to see his bo... nope not that... friend.
The knob stopped, which prompted Angel to grab it, opening the door just a bit, and he was greeted by a shadow. Its claws reached out, hooking the top of his suit coat dragging him towards the dark room.
"Wait! Wait! Wait!" Angel cried as he was yanked through the threshold before the door slammed shut behind him. He could hear static, as a gasping breath came from the dark. "Al?" Angel whispered as he felt around the wall, trying desperately to find the light switch. His lower left arm found it first as he flicked on the light.
"Al!" Angel screamed as he rushed over to the deer demon. Alastor's arms and knees were barely able to hold him up. Black blood dripped from a massive wound on his left side, his coat was torn to tatters, pieces were singed as others dripped the dark liquid on the floor below. His sleeves were burnt away exposing the charred flesh underneath. Blood coated his entire right leg, exposing some of the torn flesh beneath, and trails of blood flowed down the side of the demon's mouth. There were electrical burns around his neck, and the overlord was shaking as he tried to get his breath.
"What happened?" Angel asked, helping his friend onto his back. Angel's lower arms moved to the injury as he pressed on the wound trying to stop the bleeding. A pained groan escaped Alastor as the static grew louder.
"S...so....s'kay..." Alastor whimpered but his voice was hard to understand with all the static.
"It's not okay! It's not okay ya fuckin idiot! What the hell happened!" Angel practically screamed as he brought his other hands to the deer demon's face. Alastor didn't even flinch, and that worried Angel. Alastor hated to be touched, he would often snap at him for even trying but right now he didn't seem to care.
"G...." Angel couldn't even hear what he said as the static grew worse. Pulling out his other set of arms, he dug in his suit pocket, retrieving his phone and dialing the emergency contact. Without thinking, he shed his suit coat and used that to try to slow some of the black liquid. Alastor gasped in pain as his smile faltered a bit, his shaking was getting worse. Angel was starting to panic but he ignored the sticky fluid that clung to his fur, as he pressed harder to the injury.
"You're going to be okay. You're going to be okay." Angel reassured but one look at Alastor and he wasn't so sure. He heard the phone finally get picked up, Charlie spoke with a groggy voice.
" Hello..."
"Charlie, get to Alastor's room now!" Angel practically screamed. "Alastor, keep talking to me! Please baby talk to me!"
"Wait, what!" Charlie's voice sounded panicked as another voice softly joined hers. "I don't know. Angel, what's going on?" Angel could feel the tears as they prickled at the corners of his eyes. He wasn't about to lose Alastor.
"Get here NOW!" Angel yelled.
"Okay, okay. We are coming. We aren't going to hang up, okay." Charlie stated. Angel didn't care though, he was so focused on stopping the blood.
"Alastor, please what happened..." Angel begged as the tears began to run. Alastor looked up at her, his eyes were starting to flutter shut. "No. No! Ya can't do that to me. Yah can't leave me! Please stay with me! Alastor!"
"Go.... got... it..." Alastor whispered as he sort of snapped his fingers. A sheet of white paper appeared in front of Angel, and his heart raced in his chest at the sight. His contract floated in the air, Valentino's name was marked out in blood and Alastor's name was written there in black ink instead. Alastor got his contract.
"Ya fuckin idiot! Why did yah do that? Why did ya do this! He could have fuckin killed you! What were yah thinking?" Angel begged. He didn't want to take his eyes off the deer demon, as he heard the rush of footsteps behind him. Charlie and Vaggie sprinted into the room, before taking the sight in front of them. "Help me!" Angel cried as he glanced over his shoulders.
"I got it." Vaggie said as she took over Angel's position on the wound. Charlie stared at the contract that floated in front of her, horror written on her face. Snatching the contract, she set it on the desk before dashing from the room to fetch a medical kit. Angel turned his attention fully to Alastor as he struggled to stay awake; he was barely breathing.
"Stay with me. Stay with me, smiles. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't get to see your smile every day. I don't know what I'd do if ya stopped being in my life, I couldn't imagine..." Angel whimpered as he put the demon's head on his knees. His left hand was resting against Alastor's cheek as his right hand carded through the deer demon's red and black hair. "Please don't leave me alone down here." He could hear his friend gasping for breath, unable to keep the air in his lungs. "Please! I... I..." Angel stammered as Charlie returned, practically throwing the box on the ground as she tore it open.
A faint tapping of footsteps came from the hall as pounding steps followed afterwards. Niffty rushed into the room, her eye landing on Alastor as more blood rushed down the side of his mouth. Tears dripped down from the small cyclops eye, as she tried to hold in a faint sniff.
"What the hell is goin on?" Husk's voice sounded but Angel could care less. A clawed hand pressed against the door pushing it the rest of the way open. The cat demon's wings lowered as his ears folded downwards, without another word he leaned down scooping up Niffty and leaving the room.
Angel rubbed his thumb against Alastor's cheek, the demon's smile never fading. Tears streamed down the spider's face in waves, as it soaked his fur. "Please..." Angel whispered, as Alastor's eyes finally fell shut.
"Why isn't his magic healing him?" Vaggie whispered. Angel snapped his eyes up towards Charlie before reaching out and taking the princess's wrist, yanking her towards him.
"Heal him!" Angel begged.
"I can't!"
"Try."
"I don't know how!"
"If ya don't try he'll die. Please!" Angel choked out the words as Charlie glanced at Vaggie who gave a small nod.
"I'll try." Charlie whispered, taking her girlfriend's place as her hands started to glow. Pressing her hands to the wound, Angel turned her attention to the demon on her lap. He was still breathing, a good sign. He'd pull through this of course he would, he... he was the radio demon.
