NICOLE'S POV

          "Do you take Nicole to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woes, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself solely unto her for as long as you both shall live?" Asks the minister.

          Rina turns to me. "I do."

          My heart skips a beat.

          "Do you take Katharina to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woes, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself solely unto her for as long as you both shall live?" He asks when he turns to me.

          My hands are shaking,, and I am nervous. But I try to find my strength to give him my answer. "I do." I manage to say. It is low, but he hears me.

          "If there is anyone present who may show just and lawful cause why this couple may not be legally wed, let him or her speak now or forever hold his or her peace."

          Ava immediately stands up from her seat and glares at every single guest who's watching us wed. She is crossing her hands while glaring at my side of the family in particular. When no one objects probably because of Ava's intense stare, Grace gives Katharina our .... crowns.

          "By the authority invested in me by the State of Maestropolitan, I now pronounce you wife and wife, and what God hath joined together, let no man nor woman put asunder."

          Katharina smiles as she removes the veil and winks before placing the crown on top of my head. It is weird since I've never come across anyone getting married using a crown before.

          "You may kiss the bride."

          Katharina doesn't wait as she leans in to me and  kisses my lips passionately in front of my family, Ava's family and even her step mothers and siblings.

          When Rina pulls away, she is smiling widely while winking at me. "Thank you for walking down the aisle with me." She says before we both face our family and walk down the aisle again towards a limousine that's waiting for us outside.

          Ava waves at us when I look back at her. "FUCK HER GOOD, NICOLE!" She shouts making me blush and Rina laugh.

          When the car starts to move, I lean back into my seat and close my eyes as I'm trying to get everything straight.

          "You know what Ava just did there?" I ask.

          "I do. She's going to be blamed for what happened today. I know about your family and your grandparents' beliefs. Your mother told me." She says.

          I look out the windows, and I feel like the road seems familiar somehow.

          "Where are we going?" I ask before turning to face her. I guess she decided to stay silent because she just places her finger on my lips.

          "You'll know soon enough." I don't know why, but she seems to be quite charming somehow.

          "I have a question though."

          She removes her finger from my lips. She motions for me to continue.

          "Does your side of the family accept me? I mean I've never even met them."

          "Don't worry about them. My real parents died, so those people who came as my family are just people who use my money as they please. They came because they just wanted to see the wedding since I invited them half-heartedly." She shrugs.

          It doesn't take long for us to arrive at our destination. The driver opens the door for us. I am still confused, but when I come face to face with a house. Please don't tell me this is what I think it is! I am speechless!

          "Welcome to our new home." Rina says before she wraps her arms around me. "Lets check it out." She winks before leading me towards the house.

          Before we enter, I stand in front of the door and  look at her soft expression. "I thought we were going to stay in Ava's home? Aren't we going to live with her?"

          She chuckles. "Of course, we are. But, I can afford to buy another home for you and Ava. So, why not? I mean isn't it a necessity to buy a house as a gift on a wedding day?" She asks before she opens the door. "Seems like the maids are here already. Perfect."

          When we enter, I can't express the feelings I have about it. It's like when Ava showed me the house she bought the first time as well. How did I even get this lucky, I have no idea. "Villa of a Star?" I say out loud when I read a plate attached to the wall.

          Rina lets go of my shoulders and stands in front of me with that smile of hers. "Welcome, my star, to our villa."

          So, she named this home, star? She meant me? When did she find the time to do all this?! Gosh she's full of secrets.

          "First and foremost, our bedroom." She grabs onto my hand and leads me up the stairs. She gives me a little tour while walking towards the room. "And, this is our room." She says before sliding  the door open. "So, what do you think?" She asks as I look around the room.

          Plain and simple. Just the way I like it.

          "I think ... I should do something for you and Ava. You guys spoil me too much."

          Rina chuckles before showing me a key. I recognise the logo though. "And, this, is my gift to you. It's nothing much, but I hope you like it." She hands me the key, but I'm just too surprised for words. She takes my hand and places the key in my palm. "It's in the garage waiting for you." She winks.

          I am .... well, I don't know what to say honestly.

          I watch her go to the bed and pat the empty space. I go to her side and sit down with my thoughts all over the place.

          "That dress looks amazing on you."

          I blush

          "I hope Ava packed your suitcase. Tomorrow, we'll be going to London for our honeymoon." She announces.

          Oh my God! Can she just stop with these surprises after surprises please! My heart can't take it!

          Hmmmm. I'm curious. Just when will she devour me? I mean come on! I mean we just got married, and since we've arrived home, she's been on the phone, working! Even Ava forced herself onto me on our first night together. I wonder what happened to her business in Astor! I can't even be alone with her because she keeps on answering important calls.

          I sigh in front of her. She looks up from her phone and gives me her sorry look again. "I'm sorry. Something unexpected happened and I just have to deal with it."

          I ignore her while my eyes are on my own phone. Seriously if she's going to work, I'm going home.

          "Are you mad at me?" Her voice invades my ears. I know she's standing in front of me now. She kneels and touches my knee cap.  "I'm sorry, I'll make it up to you. See my phone ..."

          I finally look up. To my surprise, she suddenly throws her phone against the wall destroying it. I am shocked! "What did you do that for?" I ask frantically.

          "A phone can be replace. A wife can't."

          I blush. Dammit! She always knows what to say!

          "Have you taken your medicine?"

          I just have to make sure.

          She shakes her head slowly.

          I sigh before I go to her handbag and grab her meds. For someone who's trying to have a child, this is a lot. Hold on. Isn't this an antidepressant medicine? I turn to Rina who's sitting in my spot earlier. She's depressed?

          "Did you find them?" She asks.

          I nod and give her the usual medicine.

          Is she hiding something from me? Why does she have an antidepressant medicine? I am curious now.

          "Something wrong?" She asks when I am into my thoughts.

          "Oh nothing. What should we do now that you have all the time in the world since you destroyed your phone?"

          She chuckles. She stands up and leads me towards the bed. She pushes me onto the bed and pins me down.

          I don't know why, but this is way too sexy for words.

          "I know you've been waiting for this." She whispers.

          Why does she have to whisper now! I can't take it!

          Her cold, soft hands slide inside my shirt and grab my back. It literally sends shivers down my spine when she pulls me up only inches away from her lips.

          I get up to a sitting position and watch her. This sounds serious.

          When she hangs up, she doesn't move from that spot or even say anything at all.

          I'm beginning to feel curious.

          "Whats wrong? Who was that?"

          "It was Kelly." She looks up at me. "Nic, Kelly told me that Veronica was involved in an accident. She's in a coma and critical condition. Ava didn't want  to tell us, but Kelly thought we should know."

          My eyes widen. "We should go and see her!"

          Rina nods. "We should... we should." She repeats.

          Rina is opening the door to Veronica's ward room when we both hear sad news from the doctor.

          "I'm sorry, Aaliyah. I've done my best, but ... your daughter may not be able to walk again. The injury on her spinal cord was critical. We manage to save her and that was a miracle."

                   I drop the gift basket on the floor gaining everyone's attention.

          Ava is surprised to see us both. I can see she's been crying because her eyes seem puffy.

          Why didn't she call us? We're her wives after all! This sucks! We just had to know from Kelly rather than Ava herself.

          "What are you guys doing here?" Her voice cracks.

          Rina and I look at each other as she's trying so hard to control her emotions.

          "You shouldn't be here. You're supposed to fly out today." She is looking up trying to avoid crying in front of us.

          I nudge Rina's side. Since she's been with Ava longer than I have, she must have some tricks up her sleeve right?

          Rina nods before she goes to hug her. Rina's fingers are telling me to come and hug Ava as well.

          "It's fine. I'll think of something to help Vero." I hear Rina whisper. She pulls away and lets me do all the hugging as she goes to talk to the doctor.

          Rina asks for Ava's reports and necessary files. Does she even know how to read those reports though?

          I'm beginning to worried about Aaliyah as she seems like she's not sleeping well. That's bad for her health and the baby.

          "Dammit .... my eyes are leaking." Ava laughs it off.

          "Sometimes it's okay to cry. That's what you said to me, remember?" I hear her sigh. I pull away and wipe her tear stained cheeks. "Let it all out,, love. It's fine to cry once in a while." I rub her back.

                   "If you guys allow me, I can call my step mother. She's a surgeon and a neurologists. She might know what to do with Vero." Rina suggests.

          So one of her step mothers is a surgeon huh? That's news.

          "But she will not be capable of ..."

          Rina shuts the doctor up. "I've read the report you provided. I may not have any training in medicine, but I read books. a lot of books. SCI is possible right? Why didn't your neurologist suggest that earlier? Do you want this patient to not be able to walk?"

          An SCI? What is that?

          "I didn't suggest an SCI because she may not have lived if we did. She was in critical condition when she was reeled into the OT." The doctor's beginning to panic.

          We all turn to the bed when we hear a cry of help. Aaliyah and Theodore immediately go to their daughter's side.

          "Vero? Oh thank God you're alive." Aaliyah is crying as she hugs Vero's body.

          I notice Vero seems confused as to why she's here.

          "Mom, What happened to me?" She looks around, and she tries to move her legs. "Mom... I can't move my legs... MOM!"

          Ava lets go of me as she goes to her sisters side. "Veronica, listen, we're going to do something about this okay? We will." Ava tries to console  her little sister.

          Rina suddenly grabs onto the doctor's jacket and drags him out of the ward room.

          I follow them and listen to their conversation outside.

          "Listen here, you idiotic doctor! I don't need to have any training to tell you that my sister-in-law is showing some cauda equina syndrome, symptoms of which include numbness or weakness. Don't make me sue this hospital!"

          The doctor takes  a step back. "Do as you please. I've done the best I can." He says.

          Is it just me, or does he seem like he's smirking?

          He walks away from Rina while I slowly go to her side.

          "That's the stupidest doctor I have ever met. Anyway... oh hey." She takes out her phone and dials someone. She waits until someone picks it up. "Mama? Are you still in Maestropolitan?"

          Mama? Is that the surgeon mother she mentioned earlier?

          "Oh great. I need your help. Please come to the Memorial Hospital." She smiles. "Thanks mom." She hangs up. "She's coming now. We don't have to worry about anything. She's the best of the best in the world. She's a world ranking surgeon and specialist in neurology."

          "I'm worried about Ava."

          "Yes, me to. She may seem like she doesn't care, but she really cares about her family especially Veronica. We should go back inside. I want to inform them about my mother."

          I nod before she takes my hand and leads me towards the ward again.

          Inside, Ava is sitting next to her sister as they talk animatedly while both Theodore and Aaliyah seem like they're packing a bag.

          "We'll be going home. After everything's done, we will come back, so Ava can go home."

          Veronica nods.

          Aaliyah and Theodore go to kiss their daughter's forehead before walking out of the room together.

          Rina takes a seat on the bed and joins Ava and Veronica in their talk. Since I have no idea what they talked about, I think I should just sit anywhere.
