"Ladies wake up!" Mrs. Rice called out as she entered Claire's room. "You guys obviously had fun last night. I just kept on hearing voices and noises."

In a sleepy voice they both chorused as they glanced at each other "we sure did."

"I am glad to hear that. C'mon let's go make breakfast and thereafter, we are going shopping"

"Yay, we would love that mummy" Claire said speaking for the two of them. "we will meet you downstairs mum after we clean up."

Her mum looked at Adanna waiting for a response too but she was all smiles so she let it go. "okay" she responded as she let herself out the door.

The girls said a little morning prayer together and after which Adanna left to check up on her parents. "Good morning dad, Good morning mum" she said vibrantly as she opened the door when she heard 'come in.'

"Wow, someone looks happy today. How are you princess?" Her dad asked still on the bed as Adanna came and hugged him.

"I am fine daddy. You look happy too.

"how are you Adanna? Did you sleep well?" her mum asked

shocked Adanna responded "yes mum I did. You? "she had been expecting coldness from her mother and she had prepared for it but this she didn't expect.

"yes I did dear."

"okay dad and mami, I've got to go back downstairs to help in the kitchen. Do you need anything?"

"no dear, we are good"

"Alright. Err dad, Claire's mum is taking us shopping after breakfast"

"yay, that is great. We should go out too darling. What do you think? Mr Moses asked his wife

"sure" she replied as she stood up and stretched.

Okay before you go, lets pray" He said to her just as she reached the door, making her come back.

They did a small family devotion after which Adanna left to have her bath and then went to help in the kitchen but by the time she got there , breakfast was ready. "Oh no, I am sorry ma" she said feeling guilty.

Claire laughed.

"oh no dear. It is okay. There's still dinner to make. Mrs. Rice replied as she pulled her in a side embrace and Adanna smiled back though still feeling a little awkward. "Go and call your parents, food is ready"

They all had breakfast and had table conversations. The atmosphere was different one could tell which was a good thing. After which the ladies excluding Mrs. Moses went shopping. They had fun and bought a lot of things. Shoprite was a place to get good things at a cheaper price. They got cold stone ice cream with some toppings on top on their way out and they all laughed and licked it as they waited in traffic. They got home just in time to start dinner preparations.

Mr and Mrs Moses didn't go out as they suggested. They stayed and conversed with Mr Rice. The threesome talked about a wide range of things during which they sipped red wine and ate cracker biscuits.

A man came to look for Mr. Moses and he attended to him. He brought the key to the new furnished apartment.

When Adanna returned, he shared the good news with her and his wife. He informed them about the promotion and the house with a driver and a new car. They were all too happy. It came at the right time. They obviously needed those things. Adanna gave her dad a darkened look when her mum stepped into the bathroom "you didn't tell me about the house dad/"

"I know that, it was to be a surprise till I got the keys" He replied as he laughed and gave her the 'I'm good at surprises look.'

"Oh okay. Good reason. I am super excited."

"me too dear"

Adanna left her parents and then went to the kitchen to help out with dinner. She thought of telling her best friend but then advised herself against it. She will hear when dad is ready to say it

Dinner ready and dished on the table in 1h 15mins. Akpu and oha sopu with fried chicken, beef and a bottle of fresh orange juice they bought earlier from Shoprite. They all had dinner and it was great. Mr. Moses shared the good news of the promotion and the house with the Rice. They were happy to hear that but also sad that they would be leaving soon.

"That is great. Congratulations" Mr Rice said as he shook his hands.

"Thank you. We really appreciate you and your family. "we will be leaving in a fortnight. We have to resume work the following Monday as our leave is over."

"That's great" he sighed in relief so also Claire. They had thought they would want to leave immediately.

"We would be going to see the house tomorrow. We would be pleased to have you on board.

"I'm in. " Claire quickly chipped in. "Congratulations Sir and ma" she said to Adanna's parents and then she grinned at her and added "you too fam. I am really delighted to hear this."

They all laughed.

"Sure, we would love to go" Mrs Rice said as she looked and held her husband's hand.

"Great." Mrs Moses replied.

The ladies cleared the table after dinner, placed the plates in the dishwasher and tidied up the kitchen. Everyone retired to bed thereafter. It was a long day and sleep caught them fast as they lay on the bed.
