Coffee Shop Romance
Chapter 13
Jake's POV
Sitting in the ambulance holding MCs hand telling her that everything will be okay, I keep telling her that I am with her and that I will not leave her side. We have arrived at the hospital. MC is still unconscious, doctors are doing what they can to wake her up they have sent her for scans they wouldn't let me go with her. I tried to tell them that if she wakes up and I'm not with her she needs me by her side. I need to be by her side. She's my everything.
I'm forced to wait in her room. The chair is made of hard plastic, I can't get comfortable. I need to be with her. As I am pacing up and down I hear a soft knock at the door. I turn and see Cleo with a concerned look on her face.
Cleo: Is there any news? How are you holding up?
Jake: they have took her for a CT scan the waiting is driving me insane how could Richy do this to her
Cleo: He feels really bad for what happened he never meant to hurt her
Jake: What the hell was going on?
Cleo: from what Richy told me he just found out Jessy had slept with Paul and he came looking for her. He said MC tried to calm him down and grabbed hold of his arm and without thinking he pushed her back and she hit her head.
Before Jake could reply the nurses were bringing MC back into her room, they hooked up some fluids and left her to rest. The doctor soon followed with the results of the CT scan he explained that there was no damage caused and it would just take some time for MC to wake up. Jake took hold of the hard plastic chair sitting down next to MC and holding her hand. Cleo left Jake alone with MC and said she would come back later to see how she was doing.
A few hours passed and MC started to wake up. Jake's eyes couldn't believe what he was seeing. His love was starting to wake up. He took her hand and placed soft kisses while holding her hand. She opened her eyes and even though she was in a little pain she still smiled at seeing Jake.
MC: I'll never get tired of waking up to you
Jake: MC, are you okay? How are you feeling?
MC: I'm okay Jake, my head hurts tho
Jake: I will see Richy pay for this
MC: no please Jake it was an accident he didn't mean it
Jake: But…
MC: I promise I'm okay, I just need to rest some more
MC started to close her eyes and she reached out for Jake's hand wanting him to lay next to her he carefully claimed onto the bed and settled down next to her . He cuddled up to her wrapping his arm around her waist as he drifted off to sleep. Jake was woken a few hours later by the nurse she had brought him a cup of coffee and something to eat.
Jake: thank you so much, this is very kind of you
Nurse Helen: no problem it you need anything else just let me know
Jake: I will thank you, will she be okay?
Nurse Helen: she's going to be fine I just need to swop over her pain relief and fluids these bags empty
The nurse swooped over the bags providing MC with much needed fluids and pain relief, Jake sat up on the bed carefully to drink his coffee and eat his sandwich. He pulled out his phone and sent a text to Cleo letting her know how MC was doing.
Jake: Hi Cleo, just wanted to update you on how MC is doing. She's woken up and is doing well. She's getting some more rest and her pain relief is being managed. Have you heard anything from Richy and Jessy?
Cleo: Hi Jake, that's excellent news. I will stop by later after the shop is closed. I am so glad MC is well I haven't heard from either one since this morning l. Richy will be beating himself up over it. He thinks of MC like a sister and I know Jessy will be feeling awful.
Jake: If you do hear from them let them know it's okay if they want to come visit just not at the same time. Thank you for being there for MC this morning.
Cleo: I will let them both know later on will make sure they don't visit at the same time you are welcome Jake. I know MC would do the same for me. I will be closing the shop soon I will see you later around 6pm
Jake: see you later Cleo
Jake put his phone back down to finish the rest of his sandwich and coffee, a few more hours passed and MC had woken up and was doing well. She managed to keep some good down and was showing no sign of concussion. The doctor wanted to keep her overnight just to make sure.
Later that night Cleo came to visit MC she had bought a basket of muffins with her she had made MCs favorites.
Cleo: How are you feeling?
Cleo stayed for a bit longer then said her goodbyes to MC and Jake, the next day MC was allowed to go home. Jake wouldn't leave her side he was stuck to her side like glue MC couldn't help but smile. Jake was being so attentive making sure she had everything she needed.
MCs POV
Jake has been amazing. He's not stopped looking after me making sure I have everything I need and want. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have him in my life. He really is the love of my life. He's even taken a few days off work just so he can look after me. I have really enjoyed having him home with me.
We have spent all our time in bed watching movies and catching up on some shows we have fallen behind on. The bed seems so empty I only said I could eat some ice cream and he's gone to buy me some. I can't wait for him to get back so I can snuggle up with him under the covers.
Richy and Jessy haven't stopped by yet Jake wanted to have a few days just me and him before anyone came round. Cleo is doing okay at work and she still insists that I take the full week off work. Cleo's heart was in the right place before the accident. I wasn't sure if we would make it but our friendship is stronger than ever.
She told me Alan is due to be released soon. He's just waiting on a set date, she tells me it could be any day now apart from when we opened the shop I've never seen her this excited before. I told her if he ever hurts her or does anything to cause her harm I will kick his arse.
She told me she will be taking it slow with him, they don't want to rush into anything just yet, she seems to be happy that he's going to be staying in duskwood for a while.
I really would like to see Richy and Jessy soon, Jake still isn't sure but I know I can convince him. Plus I will make sure they don't come round at the same time I could do without the drama.
Astrid texted me she couldn't stop apologiseing for what happened, I kept telling her that she didn't need to and I don't hold it against Richy for what happened. After finding out what he did I am pretty sure I would have reacted the same if someone grabbed hold of my arm like that.
Lost in my thoughts I didn't hear Jake come back, had two bags with him, one was filled with all my favorite ice creams and the other had all my favorite junk food in. When Jake came back into the bedroom I hadn't noticed that he had bought home Chinese takeout. He always knew what to pick for me.
I just couldn't help but smile as a warm tingle ran through my body, he handed me my plate and walked round to the other side of the bed getting under the covers.
MC: I love you Jake
Jake: I love you to MC
