7:30 am(same day Ace left).. At the guild.

Only Trent and Max are the only ones at the guild. The other members come at the guild at 10:00.

Trent: It sure is quiet around here when those two are out there, right Max?

Max: It sure is... I hope nothing happened to them... If they die on my request, I will never forgive myself.

Trent gives a beer to Max.

Trent: Don't worry about them, by the way, that beer is on the house.

Max: *smiles* Thanks.

When Max was about to drink the beer, a person suddenly talks to him.

Person: What kind of request.

Trent and Max was surprised.

Trent: Y-You're back already?! Big sis Ezra.

Ezra(intimidating look): Hey Max, what request are you talking about.

Max: *shivering* Umm..

Ace dashed through the forest.

Ace's POV
If they are criminal, then they must never show themselves in public. That is why, they must use the long way around.

Ace is running as fast as he can to catch up to them as fast as he can.

Meanwhile....

Hansel: Now.

Hansel and her sister Gretel pulled out the strings that they tied at the forest.

Ace braked with his foot.

Ace: phew. If I didn't stopped soon enough, I could've died.

Hansel came out of knowhere and attacked Ace with a sword.

Hansel: It's over.

In a blink of an eye, Hansel's sword was cut into two.

Hansel: What the?!

Hansel quickly backed off.

Gretel was observing at a top of a tree.

Gretel's POV
I don't know if my eyes is deceiving me, but, that kid blocked Hansel's sword strike by raising his finger.

Ace: You know, it's rude to spy on someone.

Ace kicked the tree where Gretel was standing on.

Gretel jumped and land beside Hansel, while the tree flown into mid-air like a soccer ball.

Hansel: Who the hell are you?!

Ace grinned.

Ace: I am Ace. And I am just a guy who wants to have some fun.

Hansel: *laughs hard* I guess our opponent is really dumb. Gretel! You know what to do.

Gretel: Got it, brother.

Magic circle appeared on top of Gretel's head and moved down through Gretel's body.

Ace: Oh? Something's happening.

Gretel transformed into a 3 meters Magnum Machine gun.

Magic circles appeared on Hansel's hands.

Hansel grabbed Gretel and aimed at Ace.

Hansel: Twin series: Magic Gun.
Let's see what you can do about this.

Ace kept his guards up.

Hansel fired rapidly at Ace.

Ace tries to run to dodge the attacks.

Hansel: You won't get away.

Gretel changed once again, but this time, she transformed into a rapier.

Hansel parried Gretel at Ace.

Ace deflected the attack, but he was hit with Hansel's kick. Ace hits the ground very hard.

Hansel: You don't even put up a fight.

Ace tries to stand up.

Ace: I'm not gonna lose.

Hansel: You're a persistent one are you.

Hansel lets go of Gretel, and attacked Ace barehanded.

Ace was receiving blow after blow.

Hansel: What's the matter? Where did that confidence go?

Ace isn't fighting back at all.

Gretel: Stop it Hansel. He already had enough.

But, Hansel just keep on attacking Ace.

Hansel: I'm gonna be strong just like him!

Gretel: Hansel....

Hansel summoned his magic circles at his fist and hit Ace blow after blow.

Ace was down.

Hansel: *wheezing* That tooks care of him.

Gretel: Don't you think, you went a little too far?

Hansel: I'm gonna prove to him, that we're not just mere mascots. Let's go, Gretel.

Gretel: Ok.

They both turned around and continued on walking towards Pixies Scale.

Ace suddenly stood up.

Ace: *yawn* Just as I thought.

Hansel and Gretel glanced and was surprised at Ace.

Hansel: What are you?!

Ace: Like I said before, I'm Ace.
So, bring it on.

Hansel clenched his fists and tries to punch Ace once again.

But, Ace caught his hand.

Hansel: What the?!

Ace: Tell me, did you killed those people at that guild?

Hansel: So? Why do you wanna know.

Ace: There is a mastermind behind these guild attacks am I right?

Hansel: Let go! I will never tell you!

Gretel transformed her hand into a gun, and fired straight at Ace's hand.

Ace was caught off guard and Hansel escaped with Gretel.

Ace: Hmm...

Gretel and Hansel escapes by going deeper in the forest.

They stopped and rests under a birch tree.

Hansel: *pant pant* Why did you shot him in the hand instead of the head.

Gretel: I can't...

Hansel: Are you crazy?! We've killed countless mages and destroyed guilds, and you can't kill a single mage!

Gretel: I just have a feeling... that he was different from the rest of the mages we've encountered.

Hansel sats down with a frustrated look at his face.

Hansel: If our guild master finds out about this.. we're screwed..

Gretel: Hansel...

Hansel leans on the tree and looks at the sky.

Hansel: Hey Gretel... why did we end up like this..?

Gretel: It's because of the attack 2 years ago..

Hansel: *sigh* That's right... It started 2 years ago...

*** 2 years ago ***

A town near the mountains, lies a peaceful village.

Hansel(15 years old): Hey Gretel, hurry up..!

Gretel(15 years old): Wait Hansel... I'm tired.

Both of them are going to the village elder's house to help them manifests their magic.

Village elder: Those two are always sticking together, you got pretty good kids there, Yahiro.

Yahiro is Hansel and Gretel's father.

Yahiro: *smiles* They sure are.

Hansel first came inside of the house.

Village Elder: Ok, close your eyes. Concentrate, and feel the energy flow out of you.

Hansel did what the village elder's instructions.

Magic circles appeared in Hansel's hands.

Hansel: Alright! I got my magic.

Yahiro: That's some nice magic you got there Hansel.

Hansel: You think so dad? I wished mom could've seen it.

Village Elder: *nods* Your magic is energy purge magic.

Hansel: What's that?

Yahiro: It means that once you activated your magic into your fists, you release a large amount of energy that sends your enemies to be blown away.

Hansel: Cool!

Village Elder: But, use your magic for good and not evil.

Hansel: I will!

Hansel runs out of the house with joy.

Hansel: Look Gretel! My magic.

Hansel activated his magic so he can show it to Gretel.

Gretel: I wished I got an awesome magic like yours big brother.

Hansel: I know you will! We're twins remember *smiles*.

Gretel nodded in response.

Yahiro: Gretel. It's your turn dear.

Gretel: Okay.

After 10 minutes...

Hansel is waiting outside of the house, when he heard the village elder and his dad being surprised.

Hansel quickly ran inside of the house to see why.

When he got inside, he saw a human-sized dragon inside the house.

Hansel: what the?!

The dragon suddenly spoke.

Dragon: Don't worry Hansel. It's me, Gretel.

Village Elder: Yahiro... congratulations.... You're daughter had one of the rarest magic, Transformation Magic.

Then... Gretel was known and respected in their village, while Hansel on the other hand... is treated like a sideshow.

Gretel: C'mon big brother. Let's play with the other kids.

Hansel: Why don't you play with them, after all, you're a important mage of this village.

Gretel: Huh? Big brother..?

Hansel glanced angrily at Gretel.

Hansel(angry): Why did I even have a twin in the first place!

Hansel ran towards the village entrance.

He suddenly bumped into his dad.

Yahiro: What's wrong Hansel? Where are you going?

Hansel didn't replied and just ran off again.

Hansel's POV
Damn it! Damn it! Why do I have to be the weakest one!

He punched and punched the tree in the forest. All of the sudden, a group of men walks towards him.

Person 1: Hey there kid.

Hansel: Huh? Who are you?

Person 1: We're group of hikers, and just happened to wander around this area. Do you know any village nearby?

Hansel: I do, in fact I lived there.

Person 1: Is that so? Where is it?

Hansel: Over there *points at the forest*

Person 1: We appreciate your help. See you then.

Then the men head towards the direction Hansel pointed.

Hansel continued what he was doing.

4:39 pm...

Hansel lay down below a tree.

Hansel: Why am I even in this world...

He suddenly noticed a black smoke in the sky.

Hansel: What's that?

Hansel head towards the place where the black smoke is...

Hansel: hmm... this direction is pretty familiar.

When Hansel finally reached the source. He was speechless, and couldn't believe his eyes.

The source of the black smoke was in fact... their village burning down to ashes.

***End of backstory***

Hansel: In that very day... we broke our promise...

Gretel had tears in her eyes, just thinking about it.

Ace was actually listening to their conversation while laying down in one of the branches.

Meanwhile...

A mysterious mage called Ezra is heading towards Ace's location
