~Chapter 11.5~

"We need to leave, NOW!" Jenny stood up, ready to make a run for it.

The gang was interrupted by a burst of light that came from above them.

"What the...?" Ulrich looked up, squinting his eyes from the bright light.

"It's XANA! XANA used this to trick us! It isn't an ordinary hack. XANA didn't have full control of Lyoko. How could I had been so stupid?" Jenny blamed herself as everyone got ready to take the mob down.

The gang split up, each person in a corner of the room.

Odd was ready with his laser arrows, Yumi ready with her fans, Ulrich with his sword and Jenny, well...

"Guys! I need to tell you something!" She shouted.

"Later! We need to take that down first!" Yumi replied.

"I don't have a weapon!" As soon as those words escaped Jenny's mouth, a flying blue jellyfish with electric tentacles that had a glowing red eye on its head flew straight towards her.

It reached out to grab her, but Jenny made a swift kick into its' eye and ran behind Yumi.

Yumi threw her fans directly towards the electric jellyfish's tentacles and managed to slice some off.

"Jenny! The core!" Odd shouted and Jenny turned around.

Mantas surrounded the core and started shooting it.

"Ulrich, you're the nearest! Distract those mantas for me!"

Ulrich nodded and did a cart wheel over to the mantas, catching one by surprise, he managed to kill one. The other mantas then shifted their attention to Ulrich and starting shooting at him.

Jenny ran towards the core and destroyed the hack in the speed of light.

As she closed the cube, Aelita called out to her.

"Aelita?" Jenny asked, looking at the strange girl that had a glowing pink ball
in her hand.

Aelita did not reply, instead she aimed her deep pink coloured orbs at Jenny. Jenny's eyes widened and she had her hands in front of her as a form of self-defense. It was very clear at that point on who's on the losing side.

"Aelita, it's me, Jenny." She said cautiously, keep her eye on the Aelita's hand. I know it isn't you doing this, just snap out of it and everything's fine."

"Go. Away." Aelita said in a robotic voice.

"Aelita!"

Jenny screamed her name and the orb shot pass her face.

Odd turned around as soon as he heard Jenny's voice and he made a run for her, stood in front of her and aimed his arrows at Aelita.

"Wake up Aelita! I know it's XANA. I don't want to hurt you." He tried to get Aelita to come back.

Aelita didn't move, didn't react, didn't reply. All she did was just readying to shoot again at whoever that stands in her way.

She released her shot, Odd couldn't escape. He shut his eyes and prepared himself to die.

An explosion caused everything and everyone to stop whatever they were doing, it was as if time froze at that one moment.

Odd slowly opened his eyes and he saw Jenny's hand aimed at Aelita. It was like as if Jenny's one of the causes for the explosion.

He got up, brushing off the dust that was on his legs.

As soon as he realises Jenny's eyes were purple, Aelita fainted.

"Aelita!" Yumi shouted and ran to her side.

Odd tapped Jenny's shoulder cautiously. "Are you okay?"

Jenny blinked her eyes two times then replied, "I... think so."

She turned to face Odd and her eyes were back to normal. For a moment everyone was silent. Seems like the explosion cleared away the mobs.

"The mobs are gone, we should go back now." Jenny said and she forced open a portal after a few tries.

"What happened there?" Ulrich asked as they exited the portal.

"I don't know. All I remember was that I wanted to block Aelita's attack and I just blacked out. The next thing I knew, Aelita fainted."

"How did you know this was one of XANA's schemes?" Odd popped out of nowhere.

"She only hacked the surface of Lyoko. Which means it was just the communication system and re-programmed 85% of us that causes us to actually die here. Also, temporary failure of Lyoko, which is why there were so many new mobs." She paused to think then continued, "And... for Aelita, XANA just merely chipped into her brain with her small hack. Don't worry, she'll be fine."

"What?! 85% programmed? What do you mean? Jeremy never explained to us before!" Yumi was gobsmacked, to be honest.

If they were really just 85% programmed into Lyoko and they would've died, what would happen to them if they were 100% programmed?

"XANA didn't programmed this hack just now. It was a long time awaited plan. XANA wouldn't had been able to pull a stunt like that anymore, so don't worry." Jenny smiled.

Everyone led out sighs of reliefs.

Until Jenny frowned. "Unless XANA has a back up plan then..."

"Then?" Odd's eyes widened with fear.

"Then... we're doomed." Jenny said and stared at each of the Lyoko warriors worriedly.

XANA is back, stronger than ever. Even though Jenny's able to unhack the hack XANA's made, but that doesn't mean Jenny can do so once more.

The original hack took quite Jenny a long time to sort of manage. On top of that, she wasn't even aware that an explosion happened and she was a part of it.

Will Jenny be able to pull something like that again?

Jeremy leaned back on his seat, arms folded across his chest. "We need to find out why XANA wanted to hack and if there's any other "hacks" laying around that XANA's waiting to use."

"I agree. The only way to find out is for me to return to Lyoko. It's absolutely impossible for me to do things here." Jenny said leaning forward and placing her elbows on the table while resting her head on her arms.

"No! That is a dangerous move." Jeremy declared.

"If we don't do this, everyone will be in grave danger." Jenny argued back.

"I won't allow it!"

"You will! Do you want more people to end up like Aelita when XANA gains access to actually bring it's whole self to the real world?!"

"There is no way i'm listening to you! What do you know? How can you be so confident about XANA?"

"Just trust me!"

"Why should I?"

"STOP being so STUBBORN."

Jeremy slammed his fist onto the table, his way of showing that 'this-conversation-has-ended-you-cant-butt-in-anymore'.

"Fine!" Jenny rolled her eyes, getting up from her seat.

"Where are you going?" Odd asked.

"To Lyoko." She faced Jeremy. "Whether you like it or not."

Yumi, Ulrich and Odd wanted to stop her but they were too slow and Jenny left the room without saying anything more.

What will the Lyoko gang do? Leave Jenny alone to Lyoko or go with her by to see more XANA's works and schemes come alive?

I decided to post this early cos why not? I'm feeling extremely productive and lazy and that's the best feeling out of me you could ever feel! :D

so... XANA IS MORE POWERFUL. Talk about hacking skills! If I can hack half as good as XANA, my problems will be solved. Almost all. That would be awesome, still waiting for a chance when a hacking sensei can come to me and be like: Grasshopper, you're chosen to do great things. Now, come under my wing, i'll teach you all my tactics and secrets. That would be awesome!

Anyways, will the Lyoko gang ever find out what XANA's up to or lose to XANA's challenge even before it's begun? All that in the next chapter! 😆😁
