Since then, you had been at King Candy's side almost all the time. He even offered to install an extra seat on his kart, so you could experience the race without having to be a playable character yet. You were always coming up with new and fun ideas to add to the mechanics of the race tracks, as a new challenge, or power ups to use on the karts. Candy even offered you an official uniform to show off your 'royal authority'. You quite enjoyed running around and exploring the castle, something you had never gotten to do before. King Candy usually gave you so much free reign over things that it felt more like an equal partnership than you being an assistant! One day you woke with a wild idea in your head, so you rushed to find Candy and tell him about it.

You ran into the throne room, finding him just where you expected to, getting ready for the next roster race to begin. "Candy Candy Candy Candy!!" You jumped over to him, startling him a little bit. "Goodness my dear, what's got you so excited so early in the morning?" "GUM BALL CANNON!" "I'm sorry?" Now you had his full attention. "A gum ball cannon! Y'know that classic trick to throw marbles out and trip someone up? If we add a gum ball cannon to your kart, it could clutter the track and slow down the other racers a ton!" King Candy had a look of surprise for a moment, but it turned to a smile as what you suggested sank in. "What a clever idea! I can have it built in a few days! Sour bill, get on the blueprints for a gum ball cannon, would you?" He turned to his little servant who happened to be standing by. "Yes your majesty." Sour bill drawled and he walked off to another corridor. Candy turned back to you. "Well, I must be off. Can't keep the racers waiting, you know! Would you like to join?" He asked. You smiled back, "I would love to! But... I was actually thinking about exploring some of the castle today!" His constant smile faltered a little bit, but he simply agreed and drove off.

After watching the big doors close slowly, you trotted off down a hallway and started to look around. There was a lot more to the castle than you thought, but you took your time to stroll through the large hallways and rooms, most of which was decorated in all pink (which King Candy had once insisted was a shade of salmon, so you didn't look too close into it). You spent a lot of time in the kitchen, and actually ended up making yourself some cookies, which you 'accidentally' ate all of. You headed to another wing of the castle which had a lot of odd tapestries hung around the walls. You stared at each one, letting yourself zone out a little... but after a bit, you noticed something sticking out behind the one in the middle. You got closer, wondering if you should investigate... yes, definitely. You pulled back the corner of the heavy tapestry a bit, and found a long, dark hallway. This was getting weird, but you wanted to know what it was leading to.

Your eyes adjusted to the darkness as you slowly walked through the hallway that was only illuminated by soft neon lights. This was very unlike the rest of the castle. Soon you got to the end, where a locked door stood. apparently it had a password, because you found a button pad on the side of it. At first you weren't sure what to do... but the buttons were familiar. You tried the first password that came to mind, tapping in the pattern to the Konami code. To your surprise, something clicked in the door and it slid open. The door opened to a room that looked like nothing more than a deep chasm, but it was filled with endless webs of icons and cords. You've seen this before. You stepped off the edge of the hallway, awkwardly floating into the room. This was beyond odd. You looked around you trying to make sense of it all. Characters, scenery, maps... "it's all code... of course!" You fumbled around the strings of code, looking through the jumble of characters, and saw the mess of aspects that was yourself. "Haha- lots of wardrobe changes in the past few days..." you mumbled to yourself. Starting to get the hang of things, you looked through the rest of the characters until you found... King Candy. You started reconsidering all the decisions that led you here, wondering if you shouldn't be seeing this... but hey, what was the point of going back now? You carefully tapped on the large icon. There was actually so much packed into the character aspects it forced you back a couple feet. Your eyes widened as you struggled to take it all in... and then you saw it. "Ohhhhohohohh... now this is interesting."
