"Yea, he saw me with his wife, but let me tell you I wasn't doing anything that she didn't want" Seth told the reporter, "he just tossed me to the ground and started hitting me, I barely got a punch in"

He watched as the reporter took notes, "when's the camera crew coming?" He had a photographer already lined up and had him waiting in the wings.

"They won't be coming until tomorrow, I'm just doing a pre interview. I have to show it to my station manager and see what she thinks" he closed his notebook. "I think she's going to want to run it, the unit he's in is run by a cop whose been accused of being dirty"

"Fantastic thank you"

"Hey baby" Bob said as he arrived home, "why are the kids here, not that I mind I just wasn't expecting to see them" he asked as he picked Harper up and spun her around, making her giggle.

"Kim had some errands to run, and Adam was at the district" she explained, "I thought he wasn't able to work with his hand, but I guess they put him on desk duty"

"Probably" he said as he stole a piece of roast beef, "at least we get the kids for a few hours, have you spoken to Annie today?"

"I did, she said Drew is doing wonderful. She even has Derek changing diapers" she laughed as she filled the serving bowls with vegetables.

"I think I may have been wrong about Derek, he's a good man" Bob confessed.

"I've been telling you that for awhile now, seems Adam is finally accepting him too"

"What do you think you're doing here?" He asked her.

"I could ask you the same thing" Kim responded, she pulled a chair out for him, "what did Hank say?"

Adam picked a menu up, "might as well eat here, huh?" He said as he looked  the menu over, "Voight's pissed at me, and he suspended me until this all blows over" he put the menu down, "Now, do you care to explain why you're sitting in this restaurant, you aren't waiting for someone are you?"

"The same person you're waiting for, I imagine" she smiled, her hand on his leg "I just wanted to talk to him Adam, to tell him to back off you. That it wasn't your fault"

"We need to avoid him Kim, he's not worth it" Adam told her, taking her hand in his, "I don't know what I was thinking coming here"

Seth stepped off the elevator, spotting them both sitting at a table, he approached it "what brings you two here?" He asked leaning on the half wall that separated the restaurant from the hotel, "you aren't looking for me are you?"

Kim could feel Adam tense up, "Seth, I'm really sorry about the other night, I was in a terrible place and made a mistake. Do you really need to sue my husband?" She was polite and sincere.

"Your husband shouldn't of hit me, do you realize I need surgery? I'm just waiting for a second opinion and thanks to Obamacare my insurance is shit now" he grinned "how else am I going to pay for it?"

Adam couldn't handle it anymore, "you need to leave" he told him through his teeth, "now"

"Funny but I don't think you're in the position to tell me what to do" Seth told him, "I had a great time the other night" he winked at Kim, "until jackass showed up, and I'm pretty sure you did too"

"Just go!" Kim told him.

"We could have had some fun" he told her.

Adam jumped up from the table and flew around the corner "you need to get out off here before I kick the shit out of you again, and I don't give a fuck about any lawsuit" he pushed him.

It was then Adam saw the first flash of a camera, Kim jumping in front of Adam, putting her hand on his chest "Stop, Adam. He's not worth it, let's get out of here" she pulled him from the restaurant.

"Thanks for the photo Officer Ruzek!" Seth yelled as he watched them leave.

Adam kicked the tires on Kim's car "he set me up, he baited me" he leaned against the silver BMW M3 "I just made his case for him"

She leaned against him "I can go back inside and see if anyone will be willing to leave a statement that he set you up"

"No. I don't want you stepping foot in that hotel again. I think we need to be prepared for this to blow up on the news" he wrapped his arm around her, "everyone's going to know what happened, both of us are going be dragged through the mud"

"Well, our friends and family will know the truth, and that's all I care about Adam." He opened the door for her, "I'm sorry Adam, for all of this"

He leaned in the car, "stop it, please. I will meet you at my dad's okay?"

"Why don't you ride with me, we can come back for your truck?" Her gut telling her that he wouldn't leave right away, "I don't want you going back in the hotel"

He stood up, "I'm not going back inside" he told her and it was true he wasn't going back inside, he was going to wait outside for the photographer to come out. "I promise" he kissed her, "see you soon" he turned and left.

She watched him in the rear view mirror until he was no longer visible "don't be stupid Adam"

"Mommy's here!" Anthony yelled when she pulled up, just having finished a PT session.

"Hey sweet boy, where's Harper?" She asked him, "hey Amy, it smells delicious"

"You should stay, Harper just fell asleep with Bob, they had been reading but I think grandpa was as exhausted as Harper, where's Adam?"

"He should be here soon, though he won't be the best company" she sat her legs aching "he was served with papers this morning, and we both had the bright idea to go to the hotel to speak to the man" she was mortified discussing this with her mother in law "the guy ended up getting Adam to go after him and he had a photographer waiting to take a picture"

"That's awful, Adam didn't hit him again did he?" Amy asked knowing all too well that her stepson was quick to use his fists.

"No thank goodness, but he pushed him and that's bad enough" Harper came running into the dining room "hey baby girl"

"Daddy?" Harper asked her hands held up.

"He is on his way" Kim thought it was adorable how attached Harper was to Adam, "hopefully"

Adam sat on the hood of his truck, his CPD placard hanging from his mirror, chasing away the Valet staff.

He spotted the photographer exit the hotel he jumped down, "Hey! Come here for a minute" he waived him over.

"What do you want?" He asked, his camera bag tossed over his shoulder, "leave me alone" he tried to walk around  Adam.

"How much is he paying you?" Adam asked him blocking his path.

"It looks like we arrived just in time" he said as he put the car in park and they both stepped out.
