The rest of the picnic went very well, and when you returned, Ink was waiting for you.

"There you two are! I've been looking for you everywhere! Error, can we talk?"

You blush and turn to leave, but first you peck Error on the cheek. Ink suddenly becomes fangirl-y, mocking you in a song-song voice.

"Ohhhhh! I see now! Error, and Y/n, sittin' in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"

You blush a deeper color.

"Oh shut up, Ink!"

You yell as you head to your room. For a few minutes you try and eavesdrop on the conversation, but it's in a forgone language you don't understand, so you go to sleep.

But as you finally drift off, you catch a mumble from outside.

"I-I d-don't have t-t-time to deal with t-this. I have t-to k-keep Y/n safe."

"N-no matter t-the c-cost."

IN THE MORNING

When you woke next, error was chatting absentmindedly with Blueberry. You run up and hug him.

"Blue!"

You yell, happy to see the friendly skeleton. Error smiles.

"W-w-what's up, b-buttercup?"

You laugh at Error's remark.

"We hung out, like, all of yesterday. Actually, when was the last time you didn't see me for a day? When we met?"

Talking about your jump down the mountain brought back memories you wanted to swallow again. Looks like after all you've been through, they still haunt you. Error also seems a little daunted from the mention of that day. For the first time, you wonder about all the things he's been through. But you don't ponder about it too much. It doesn't matter too much.

"Ink told me about you two!"

Blue buts in. You roll your eyes, but you see Error become yellow, and you also become a red color. Blue just squeals.

Things may feel perfect, a voice in your mind whispers, but something always goes wrong around you, doesn't it?

And ou find yourself agreeing. Things may be great now, but there will always be the secrets that the both of you will keep.

And the ones you'll reveal.
