Sage, of course, followed along in secret so he could make sure his daughter was safe with this boy.

Violet was originally in this scene as well, in a disguise, but then I realized it wouldn't make sense for her to also be keeping on eye on the date since Saffron isn't her daughter, and Jack isn't her son, so she was removed, leaving an awkward empty table in her place.
