Michelle's pov

I lay there, cradling Carla's body in my arms. Minutes went by but they felt like hours, what was I meant to do?! The person who meant the most to me in the world is dead.

Dead.

I can't believe it. I won't!! I can't believe the fact that I'll never witness her fights or listen to her feistiness or be there when she's down ever again, she put her life on the line for me and for what?

My tears silently came to a sudden stop and as I got up, holding Carla's lifeless body in my arms, I made my way out the door. The idea was to take her to the nearest hospital, maybe they could save her?! But no. As soon as I stepped outside, my legs turned to jelly and I fell to my knees.

Luckily, a neighbour had heard the gunshot and witness him running away, he called the police and an ambulance and explained everything, knowing that I couldn't. He only explained the shooting of course, he didn't know about the rest. But how could I say it? How could I explain the fact that my sister was held hostage for months in a room and as soon as I got her back, she risked her own life to save mine?

They came back. The tears. Silently falling one by one on to the pavement. Suddenly, when I just started to give up all hope, I felt familiar arms hug me from behind. She was here. Not in body but in spirit. I couldn't see her but I could feel her hug me tight and crouch down beside me.

She started to speak and I could hear her clear as day! It was like she never left.

"You listen to me okay? For once in your life you listen!" Carla said, I nodded slightly, not wanting to bring attention to myself.

"If you EVER think badly of yourself again because of what's happened, please just remember this. YOU saved ME! When I was trapped and thought I was alone, you were there! All I did was repay the favour really" She says, smiling slightly at me

"But you died, your dead, I saved you and now you're dead" I whispered silently, tears flooding out of my eyes.

"Ey, don't you start! You'll set me off" Carla said, "Never ever forget how much you've done for me okay? You were the reason that I stayed in this miserable world and the reason that I'll continue to stay! I never left Chelle and I never will, I'm always here" she points at my heart "Always and forever. I know that that might not be enough but you'll be okay! You have so many amazing, wonderful people in your life! I will always be right beside you, through every battle and every victory, I'll be there okay?" She wipes my tears away like she always has and stands me up "Be strong. Be careful and be beautiful okay? Never forget me or the memories we had because I'll always be here, Never forget how much I love you okay?" She gives me a massive hug, kisses my cheek and I suddenly see her walking off, with tears in both our eyes I shout after her WAIT!!

"Be the strong amazing woman I know you are! See you soon okay? Loving you till the end my sister" she says, then she's gone. Just like that.

I crumble to my knees and repeat everything that she said to myself. Why is this so hard?! You don't know what you have till it's gone...and now she's gone. Forever.

I start walking and walking and walking, not knowing where I'm going but not caring either.

"Hey!! Don't tell me you've given up?!" Carla says, taking my hand and squeezing it tight. "I'm always right next to you yeah? Even if you cant see or hear me, I'll be right here. Always"
