Chapter 17: Dante?
Dante
Is she serious? She can't be serious! I got up to stop her but Kelin blocked me. I looked at him like he was crazy.
"Move before I kill you."
"Yeah I'm not scared of you Dante like your other lackeys. You need some time time apart. I'm mean I don't know how you could see this working since you kidnapped her Dante... I mean... come on!"
"I thought we made excellent progress."
"No Dante. She's not one of your pain sluts. She doesn't like to be hurt Dante. No one does." I pushed passed him to stop this idiot. But when I stepped outside she was already gone. She really had the balls to leave me. I turned on my heels and called a few friends of mine. Did she really think she was going to get away from me?
~*Two Weeks Later*~
"What Kelin damn! Can't you see I'm trying to sleep!"
"Well that what you've been doing since Carney left! That and drinking, you won't live to see thirty five! Now get up! You have a business to run!"
"Dante get the hell up!" I shot up when I heard my mother.
"You should've got up when I tried to wake you..." Kelin mumbled walking out. I groaned looking at my mom.
"Morning Ma." I got up and hugged her.
"Being sweet is not gonna work in me! Why! Have! You! Not! Been! At! Work?!" She yelled slapping me.
"M-Ma-!" She finally stopped and huffed fixing her clothes. She looked around my room. It just might be covered in liquor bottles. I don't know why but since she left I took on drinking. Not my normal drinking but I'll drink until I pass out drinking.
"Where is my daughter in law?" I sighed rubbing her ring in my pocket.
"She's... she's gone." I mumbled and she gasped.
"What did you do!?" She then slapped me some more.
"She's with her parents!" She stopped then smiled.
"Oh! Well clean yourself up you reek of alcohol. We are going to see her."
Carney
"Honey we love you we really do but, when are you going back home? We bought you an apartment for a reason." My mom said and I scoffed.
"Mom! Are you serious?!" If she only knew what I went through she wouldn't be saying this!
"Well Baby... you were finally out the house-and me and your father have been-"
"Say no more! Geez! Aren't you guys too old for that?!"
"Oh baby we haven't lost our-"
"Oh my god not another word!" I covered my ears and started humming. Now I remember why I was so excited for college! Someone rung the doorbell and she left to answer it. I sighed.
"Thank God!" I got out of my bed and took my leggings off and put my shorts on. It's crazy hot in my room. I almost forgot it gets like that when the heat is on.
"CARNEY!" My Mom yelled making me jump.
"What?!" I shouted coming down the stairs. I stopped when I saw Dante and his mother. Holy shiz!
"Hey Sweetheart." Dante said awkwardly and I just wanted to die.
"So you went and got engaged without telling me?!" She shouted. And Dante sat there with a smile. That evil little fuck face!
"W-What can I saw Mom? I was in love?" I said.
"Was?!" Mom and Dante's Mom yelled.
"Huh?"
"Dear, what do you mean by was? Do you no longer love my son?" I sighed glancing at Dante.
"I-I gave him the engagement ring Ma'am... I couldn't do it anymore." Dante sucked in his teeth and his mom glared at him.
"So what now boy?!" She yelled then cursed at him in Italian. Me and my mom watched in shock as she went in. Mom mom pulled me into the kitchen.
"If you would've told me about the engagement I wouldn't have been so harsh to you earlier! My poor baby!" She pulled in and my face was buried in her chest. I groaned pulling away.
"We got into a fight and I couldn't do it anymore Mom. So I came here. It's not that serious." I said s someone cleared their throat behind me. I turned to see Dante.
"Can we talk Carney?" I sighed and nodded my head.
"I'll be out in the living room with the mom." My mom said walking out. We stood their in awkward silence for a while.
"Why did you come here Dante? I made myself pretty clear." He walked closer to me and I stepped back.
"Carney...will you please come back?" I scoffed at him.
"Oh so you do know the word please?" He grunted.
"You fucking lucky I'm being nice right now." He said lowly.
"Oh I'm definitely going home with you know." I said sarcastically. Dante shook his head walking some more and took some more steps back until I hit the fridge. Damn it! I looked up and he was towering over me.
"Carney... look I'm sorry. Please come home?" I stared up at him in shock. He can't be serious right now.
"Dante are you in some type of drug and did someone do some kind of voodoo magic on you?" I asked lifting his eyelids and he grabbed my hands.
"No I'm not. I'm being really serious right now Carney." I pulled my hands out of his hold.
"No! You literally kidnapped me! Sexually assaulted me, and abused me Dante! So no! I'm not leaving the safety of my home or apartment again to be near you!" He nodded his head and took a step back. I finally leaned down for the fridge taking in some air.
"Carney I promise if you come back I'll treat you better-just come back?"
"Dante...no. I don't know why you care so much... You say things will be better but I don't believe you. Do you really want me back or is this something for your mom again?"
"It's all me Carney." I shook my head.
"I'm not stupid Dante! You don't know what love is. And you never will because...because I'm not going back."
"Fine." He turned around."Mom! We have to go now." I followed behind him slowly.
"What do you mean it's time to go? Sorry Ruth my son is so impatient." His mom said to my mother.
"No problem! Come by anytime!"
"Bye Carney! Please call me!" She shouted while Dante practically dragged her out of the house. Once they were gone Mom nudge me with her elbow.
"So? Your ex is really handsome and his mother is to die for! Please tell me you two made up?!"
"Oh I can't believe you!"
