Subaru carried Yume on his back and he ran and ran as fast as he could, even with Yume's flames burning and boiling him.

Finally they reached a warm and cozy cave where Yume began to get warmer, but her attention was glued to Subaru. "Subaru! You need to go! Make it rain! Go into the water! Anything!" she said

Subaru just smiled. "I'm just glad I could be like fire," he said and then ... he evaporated.

Yume stood there, shocked. Then a tear rolled down her cheek. It hurt.

Yume started to cry, and it hurt so much!

The tears hurt, her heart ached, and the pain seemed to be crushing her. Her tears smothered her flames and she grew smaller and smaller. 

"At least I know what it feels like to be like water," she said and then she was gone

Where was she? Was she dead? Yume wondered these things as she floated above the cave and above the island. What had happened to her? Was she a ghost? no. She was steam. The ghost of fire and -

"Subaru!" Yume cried once she saw her friend who had also turned to steam.

"Yume!" They ran over to each other took their hands. It didn't hurt at all.
