——Y/n (Your) POV!——
I slid into Brooke's cat's front seat. "Bye Chloe! Thanks for having us over!" I waved goodbye.
Chloe blew Brooke and me a kiss, and with that, we drove away. "Ah, that was great fun," I said. If anything, I'm the only saying that because Eric and I had a moment where he made me feel protected, but Brooke doesn't need to know about that.
"Yep! I can't wait to hang out again!" Brooke giggled.
"Saaaame!" I agreed with wide eyes.
"Want me to pick you up tomorrow?" Brooke asked.
"Say yes, remember: you skip your first class."
"Obviously, I hate trigonometry so I'm all for ditching." I chuckled.
"Lucky! I have trigonometry in the middle of the day." Brooke complained.
I put my hand on her shoulder and patted it. "You poor soul," I commented.
Brooke and I made the conversation all the way to my house. I waved at her and said goodbye as I walking into my house.
"I'm home!" I called out.
My mom's head peered around the corner. "Hello dear," my mom looked behind me. "No Eric this time?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
My cheeks burned up at her question. "Mom!" I scolded. "No! Eric isn't here today!"
I then heard something crash. My mom and I walked over to where we heard the loud noise.
"Never mind." I jokingly rolled my eyes.
There was Eric, in his human form, on the floor. He had attempted to enter through the window 'gracefully', but his leg got caught on who-knows-What, and so he tripped.
"I'm so fucking graceful." Eric gave my mom and me a lazy thumbs up.
I jolted at his statement. "ERIC! DONT SWEAR IN FRONT OF MY MOM-"
I was cut off by my mom's laughter.
Don't worry, I calculated that your mother had a 93% chance of finding that comment hilarious. Eric said in my brain.
My mom wiped away a dramatic-fake tear. "I really do love Eric." My mom nudged my shoulder. "He would make a very interesting spouse~."
"MOM!" My cheeks turned beet red, they felt so hot to the point where it felt like I could cook an egg on them.
——Third Person (no one's POV)——
Typically, Eric's face would be boiling out of embarrassment, but after the events of today, he was just depressed. "Thank you Ms. L/n, but Y/n and I aren't together, she's currently dating someone else..." Eric explained with a frown. Eric nervously chuckled and scratched the back of his neck, running his hand through his hair multiple times.
Y/n's mom looked at Y/n and Eric. "She's dating someone else? Wow, okay." She nervously laughed. Y/n's mother was actually quite disappointed that Eric and Y/n weren't dating, she could tell that Eric loved Y/n uncontrollably, so seeing him emotionally hurt because Y/n wouldn't notice his feelings just internally harmed Y/n's mom.
But it was even worse for Eric.
He was dying on the inside. Crying. Screaming. Sobbing. Yelling. Bawling. Just begging for help from anybody. Every time Y/n slightly thought of Jake, Eric's heart would break a little more, hence why he was being so quiet all day and night. But after what Y/n's mom said, he was ready to break. Eric was so prepared to glitch onto someone's bed and bawl his eyes out.
He wanted to talk to somebody about what's going on in his head, like Y/n's mother. But he was too anxious, he was on the edge of shattering to a million pieces. He couldn't tell if this feeling was a sign of weakness or if it was a bug that came with the Love update.
But for Y/n, it was a little different.
Y/n was still confused about her feelings. She loved to hang out and be with Eric, but she was now dating Jake, so now she was just feeling confused. She wasn't even sure what she was confused about, but it was definitely something.
——Back to Y/n (Your) POV!——
"Yes, I am indeed dating someone else, SO STOP MAKING JOKES ABOUT ERIC AND ME!" I yelled at my mom.
My mom pats my head. "I'll consider it." And she then just walked away.
I huffed and threw myself on the couch. "She's such a pain in the ass..." I groaned.
"Let's focus on what we should do now, we should continue to focus on your popularity goal. So, how about we go to the mall just look around." Eric prompted.
I raised an eyebrow. "What good will just 'looking around' do?" I asked.
"Since today is Sunday, a lot of people who go to your school are at the mall, and since you are already quite popular, if they see you there buying expensive stuff, they will come to the conclusion that you also have a lot of money," Eric explained.
I looked at him with a puzzled face. "But I'm kinda broke," I answered. Eric smirked and rolled his eyes. He reached into my jacket pocket and pulled out my wallet. "HEY!" I said, trying to grab it back but he held it just high enough for me not being able to reach it. (Everyone does this to me IRL because I'm a smol bean)
"This wallet contains your debit card, correct?" He asked.
"I know you know the answer to that question," I said with a slight smile as I crossed my arms.
Eric let out a sigh. "A debit card is just money that comes from your checking account, which is just numbers. I can add tons of money to your checking account and boom, you're no longer broke."
"Wouldn't it look hella suspicious if I just got a lot of money out of nowhere?" I asked with a slight chuckle.
"Not necessarily, I'll make it look you you just deposited money into your checking account." He shrugged.
I paused for a second to process what he just said, and then I giggled. "So now that I have you, I practically have a money machine?" I asked.
"I'd prefer for you not to call me that, but yes," Eric said with a large amount of attitude. I giggled at his reply.
"Ok!" I smiled.
Eric blushed at my smile and looked away. "L-lets just go." Eric stuttered.
I stood on the couch, grabbed my wallet from Eric's hand and poked his cheek with the corner of my wallet. "Stuttering isn't attractive.~" I mocked with a big smirk tugging at my lips.
"ShUtuP!" Eric buried his head in his hands and walked away.
I giggled and hopped off the couch. I walked over to where my mom was reading a book. "Hey mom, is it alright if I take your car to the mall?" I asked.
My mother looked up from her book and smiled. "Sure, be safe, and try to be back before 7:30 pm." She ruled.
I nodded and thanked her. I snatched her keys and went to her car to see Eric already in there.
"Bitch, I haven't even unlocked it yet, wanna look any more suspicious?" I said.
Eric didn't reply. All he did was kick his feet up on the dashboard and have his chair lean all the way back with a smug smirk.
"Okay, screw you too," I said with my eyes closed but I still had a smile, I unlocked the car. (Like this: (/-ω-)/)
The second I sat down in the driver's seat, Eric sent a shock up my spine. "Screw me? No, screw you." He replied smugly.
"No u."
Eric reached into his pocket and pulled out a card. "Uno reverse."
Crap. "Did you find Reddit?" I asked.
The card in his hand materialized. "I will not confirm nor deny that I may or may not have stumbled across a media website commonly known as Reddit..." Eric said.
"And to think that I could have kept you pure..." I put my head on the steering wheel in disappointment.
Eric pulls his chair back up properly. "I have an infinite database with one of the most powerful quantum processors ever created, so with that in mind: I was never pure," Eric said in a matter-fact-ly way with a large amount of pride.
I finally turned the engine on. "Yeah, yeah whatever," I said, lightly hitting the back of Eric's head. I backed out of the driveway and drove to the mall. Eric and I did make a small conversation every now and then, but other than that, the car ride was fairly quiet. I parked the car in the mall's parking lot and exited.
I already recognized some people who were standing outside of the mall, although I couldn't remember their names. There were about 5 people, a couple of them were smoking while the other 3 just watched and made conversation with them.
Eric changed back into his non-physical form. "Walk past them, don't talk to them, just give them a glance," Eric said.
I complied and began to walk to the front doors where they were. The 5 people noticed me and practically stopped what they were doing and stared at me. As I walked past them, I threw them a smile with a glance.
"Holy shit- that's Y/n." One of them said, not looking away from me.
"Damn, she's a lot hotter than I had first thought..."
"She be lookin' like a snack~."
They assumed that I couldn't hear them, but I could. Every single word. I couldn't tell if I was flattered or annoyed. It was a fair mix of both actually.
"Y/n, when you get popular, which you are currently, people will admire you, sometimes they'll talk about you while your present, but more frequently when you're not," Eric said as he fazed through the doors when I had to walk through them like a normal person.
"Makes sense," I answered. I kept walking until I was in the middle of the mall where the map was. "Any stores I should go to?"
"Go to any stores that could result in expensive stuff."
"Any store?"
"Pretty much any store-" Eric paused so he could facepalm. "Yes, Y/n, you can go to the GameStop." Although he was trying to hide it, I could see his smile.
I almost squealed, but luckily Eric temporally muffled my soundbox to prevent that from happening.
"BUT! I would recommend going into that kohl's first." Eric ruled. I slightly nodded and walked towards the kohls.
"What's so special about going into the kohl's?" I asked as I stepped inside.
Eric pointed to the cashiers. "Look who that is."
I squinted. "Oh my god- Jakey D! Jake has a job? I kinda just assumed that he was that one guy who slept on people's couches or who just got money from family." I half-joked.
Eric grumbled, as much as he hated Jake, he knew that meeting him here would be a great advantage. "Whatever, go pick out some hot-looking clothes and go pay at his register."
I nodded and went to go pick some clothes out. To be completely honest, picking out attractive clothes is super easy when you're at kohl's, the real challenge is finding stuff that's your size, but with Eric's help, I managed to pull an entire outfit together.
I walked over to the cashiers, making sure I walked up to the one Jake was at.
"Heya stranger." I giggled, placing the clothes out on the table.
Jake's eyes visibly lightened up when he saw me. "Y/n!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air.
I giggled and leaned over the counter. "I didn't know you worked at kohl's~." I teased.
Jake rubbed the back of his neck. "Er- no one does, except Rich." He nervously said. "You're not going to tell everyone, right?" He hesitantly asked.
I gestured to my body. "Do I look like Jenna? I'm not a rumor spreading bitch." I declared.
Jake held my hands in front of us. "You don't look like a bitch at all, you look like a snack~"
"I'm not a snack either."
Jake raised an eyebrow in an amused way. "Then what are you?"
"Y/n, no."
"Y/n, YES."
I dramatically raised my hand high in the air. "I'm a full-course meal~."
Eric tried to slam his head on the counter, but he just ended up fazing through it. It was difficult not to laugh at Eric, so all I did was grin excessively.
"Damn right, and will I ever be able to eat you up?" Jake asked with a wink.
My face flushed but I kept my confidence. "I don't know, but if you're nice I'll let you have a taste~." I teased.
"When will I be able to have this 'taste'?" He asked.
"I don't know, just text me whenever~." I smoothly,
Jake grinned as he scanned my clothes at the same time. "Will do~." Jake cooed. A sold 10 seconds past before Jake realized it. "Wait- I don't have your number."
I playfully rolled my eyes. "You just now realized that?" I asked with a slight chuckled.
Jake put my clothes in a bag. "Sorry, I was too distracted- can I get your number?" He asked,
I pulled my phone out of my pocket. "Yes hun, you can gladly have my number." I handed him my phone for him to put his number into a contact.
Jake handed me the phone back and I went to text him.
Me: Hey bitch.
Jake quickly pulled his phone out to reply.
Jake😏: Hey sexy
Me: Ew.
Jake jokingly scoffed at me. "Rude." He chuckled. Jake handed me my bag and I handed him my wallet. "$175.79." He said. I handed him my debit card and paid, apparently Eric really can just add money to my account.
I smiled at Jake. "Cya at school?" I said.
"Totally." He smirked. I nodded and walked out of kohls.
"Sweet! I got Jake's number!"
Eric floated next to me. "Yea, and who knew you could be such a smooth talker?" Eric chuckled.
I playfully rolled my eyes at him, "Now can we go to GameStop?" I asked.
Eric sighed and put his hands on my shoulders to guide me. "Yes, come
