They looked touched when I told them their home was like mine too. That sounded more to me like I was mooching off of them. I'd probably have to lay rent now that I revealed that to them.
"I'm glad," Francis said sincerely.
"We always want this to feel like your home," Antonio added.
Gilbert nodded, he wasn't much for sentimentality, on the inside, he was thinking he hoped I'd be there forever.
We turned the tv on as background noise while we got ready for bed. I only changed my jeans as I was plenty comfortable in everything else.
I went to lay down in bed and realized how lonely it felt.
After I heard the tv turn off and I took my pills, I knocked on Francis's door.
He gave me permission to enter and was curious as to why I was there.
"I don't want to sleep alone tonight...if that's okay?" I admitted shyly.
He smiled and nodded, waving me into bed but quickly stopping me.
"Oi, Wait for a second and turn around," he insisted.
"Why...?"
"I sleep in the nude."
"Of course you do," I mumbled and turned around as he slipped on a pair of boxers.
I turned back around and questioned if it was weird or not to sleep next to him if he only had on underwear but I shrugged it off.
He wrapped his arms around me and I snuggled into his chest and fell asleep that way.
Come morning, Antonio and Gilbert came into the room to check why Francis had yet to make an appearance for breakfast and were instantly jealous at the sight.
Francis scooted out from under me and Gilbert traded places while Antonio moved under the covers on my other side.
I awoke hours later very confused as to why I was now with Gilbert and Antonio.
I shrugged it off and got up. I'd been asleep almost half the day already, which wasn't really that unusual. As a teen, I'd sleep till four sometimes, but that was mostly because I'd gone to sleep around six in the morning.
I went downstairs to get breakfast and they were fresh out of food again.
"Do you guys never buy food?" I asked.
"Told you we like takeout."
"Yeah but I need little snacks and stuff throughout the day or I'll go crazy," I informed Francis who was drinking from his metallic bottle full of whatever weird drink they always made for themselves.
"Make a list, Gil can go to the store when he comes back downstairs," he offered.
"Cooleo," I replied and sat down, leaning back in the chair.
"Hey, can I try a sip of whatever you're drinking."
He almost snorted it out his nose and quickly covered his face.
"Non, it's not something you could handle."
"Is it alcoholic?"
"This time it is."
"Oh, shame. I don't drink much but you guys seem enamored with that stuff."
"You could say it's like our lifeblood."
I laughed lightly, "seems that way."
He nodded and finished his drink, he washed it out in the sink and sat back down across the round table from me.
He'd already finished the newspaper and Gil and Toni were finally making their way back downstairs.
"Verdammt, your aura is so calming," Gilbert yawned.
"Maybe you just didn't get enough sleep," I countered and Antonio shrugged.
"Tal vez," he yawned and sat at the table with us while Gil popped onto the couch to turn the tv on.
"We doing anything today?" Gil asked from his spot.
"I'm working today," Francis informed.
"I'm gonna work on the garden," Antonio added.
"And Francis volunteered you to get groceries," I told him.
He sat up quickly, "Vhat? Francis you arsch," he complained and I laughed at him.
He went on about my weird grocery list but proceeded to get everything anyway with my money of course.
He did treat me to a cookie dough ice cream tub though.
It was too hot outside for me to help Antonio.
I did go outside once but I brought shades and an umbrella.
"What are you allergic to the sun Chica?" He exclaimed upon seeing me, "put the umbrella down you're not a vampire."
I rolled my eyes.
"Please, I wish I was."
He perked up and asked me curiously, "oh really why?"
"Immortality, speed, strength, enhanced senses, a real excuse not to go in the sun, intimidating, awesome red eyes, paper skin-"
"Vhat's she going on about?" Gilbert asked stepping outside, "and vhy the hell are you using an umbrella, you aren't gonna die."
"She's just listening reasons why she wants to be a vampire," Antonio laughed.
Gilbert looked shocked.
"Vhat no vay, vhat about all the blood-sucking?"
"Blood is cool."
"People vould be scared if you."
"Finally."
"You'd outlive your loved ones."
"That'll probably happen anyways."
"Vhere is probably a million other problems you'd never think of."
"Like?"
"Like vhat it there are disorders, or creepy cults, or vhat if they're actually really easy to kill?"
"Pros and cons. Nothings perfect."
"You're such a weird girl."
"I know."
Gilbert turned back inside and shouted to Francis, "hear vhat Francis? ___ vishes she vas a vampire. Kesesesese." He laughed and Francis looked panicked when he cane to join us.
"The 'ell 'ave you been talking about?" He asked.
"Just joking her about bringing an umbrella outside," Antonio laughed as he tended to the tomato plants.
"Good lord woman, soak up the vitamin D." He said uncharacteristically and patted me on the back walking back inside.
"He seem weird to you?" I asked them and Antonio shrugged.
"If you think you need an umbrella to go outside vhen you should just go back in," Gilbert scolded and turned me around, pushing me back inside.
"I don't feel productive though," I whined.
"Vhen work out."
"Already did my burpee routine."
"Do it again."
"But that's boring."
"You're very argumentative today, something bothering you Frau?" He asked.
I shrugged and he furrowed his brows worriedly.
He grabbed my wrist and lead me upstairs to his room.
I thought he was up to something at first but he sat me down on the beanbags at the end of his bed in front of his tv and handed me a controller.
"Play a game with me vhen," he suggested and I sat back in the beanbag chair.
"Your screen name is TheAwesomePrussia?" I asked and he laughed.
"Totally, now make yours o don't have you in the system yet." He practically bounced in his chair from the excitement of a new gaming player.
I went to the add player part on the home screen underneath the players in the system.
"FrancyPants, Tomato, NumberOne, MightyAxe, PuffinKing, and TheGreatThor?" I asked, listening off the names.
"Francis, Toni, Alfred, Mathias, Emil and Lukas," he answered quickly, excited to see the band I'd choose.
"SuckItLosers," I typed in.
"Vhat vill haunt you when you lose to me," he smirked and I rolled my eyes.
"Gil, you know the player called QueenFrigga?"
"Of course I do, they dominated the rankings for years before deactivating their account," he remembered.
"Yup, well...that was me."
"Novay, you'll have to prove it!"
"Bring it."
Francis and Antonio were alarmed by yelling from Gilbert's room and came in the find a remote control smashed into the tv and the headset broken around Gilbert's neck.
He was panting heavily like he's just run a marathon an I was sipping a smoothie laid back in the beanbag chair as casual as could be.
Gilbert didn't acknowledge their presence at first and I waved at them without looking.
"So, I guess you have to go back to the store," I said after a minute. Probably should've left him more time to cool down cause he let out a string of curses only gamers tend to use.
"Mon amour what did you do?" Francis asked from the doorway.
"I proved he should never doubt me."
"Right then..."
Gilbert ate in silence, poking at his pizza that night with a fork.
"How badly did you beat him?"
"You ever heard of QueenFrigga?"
"Oh yeah, he was obsessed with beating that player a few years back..wait-" Antonio pieced it together and his shocked expression was enough to relay he knew the truth.
I nodded and munched on my pizza.
"Gil, if you don't eat that pizza slice then I will," I threatened and he licked the slice without eating it.
I shrugged and took the slice and ate it anyway and he gave me a 'What the fuck' look.
Antonio stifled a laugh and Gilbert rested his head on the table slowly coming to terms with defeat.
"Never took you as a gamer," Francis admitted, flipping through the tv channels.
"There's a lot you don't know about me."
"Didn't you want the barriers to come down between us?" Antonio teased.
"Yeah, but there's a lot I don't know about you either," I pointed out and relaxed into the pillows on the pushed together couch.
"Gil quit sulking and get over here!" Antonio yelled at him.
"Nein!" He shouted back lifting his head for a moment before sulking again.
"I didn't mean to crush him," I said a little guilt-ridden.
"He gets like this whenever he loses," Antonio comforted.
"At least there weren't any fights this time," Francis sighed in relief and Antonio nodded anxiously.
"My god, what usually happens?" I asked, very interested to know.
"Blood and chaos." Was all Antonio offered as a reply.
I shrugged and sat back to watch a classic.
I got annoyed with the movie quickly and fetched the remote from Francis.
Scrolling through the movies playing I found Twilight: New Moon.
"Oh this is my favorite," I squealed.
"Vhat, don't vatch a chick flick," Gilbert moaned.
"You're not even over here watching it," I yelled back at him.
I heard the thunk of his head hitting the table.
"Why is this one your favorite?" Antonio asked, he pulled me by the wrist to bring me back into the comfy pillows.
"The Volturi, duh."
"The evil vampire coven?"
"Yeah, they're the coolest."
"What is? Zheir complete lack of care for 'uman life, zheir tyranny, zheir power or zheir creepiness?" Francis asked.
I smacked his arm.
"Don't insult them, how dare you," I hissed.
"You could never be a Volturi," Antonio scoffed.
"I so would though, a badass vampire with supernatural powers, how cool would that be?" I said giddily.
"Thankfully vhey aren't real, ve don't need you going crazy on us," Gilbert said finally walking over to us and bopping my head.
I rubbed my head and he looked down at me seriously, his pinkish eyes redder than usual.
"You never know what's real," I mumbled in defeat.
Francis nodded, his gaze was focused at the tv but he seemed to be worlds away.
"Zhat's why you should always be careful of zhe crazy zhings you wish for, mon amour."
